Talk about a slow burn! The two main characters didn't kiss (yes! Just kissed) until the 95% mark. This was one of the driest romance books I have ever read. The female narrator was excellent, and thankfully, she read most of the book because the male narrator was a pain to listen to.

This was my first book by Emma St. Claire and it was lovely. It was such a cute, grumpy x sunshine, brother’s best friend romance that was really heartwarming. I liked the forced proximity and the slow burn, it really felt like the relationship was able to build naturally.

I will say that it is labeled as enemies to lovers but it’s more hate to love (but only on her part)? Annoyance to love? And it’s closed door romance-which I do read but I really wish publishers would include this in the description so I know not to expect on page spice.

Andi Arndt and Patrick Zeller did a fantastic job with the narration (as usual!).

A fun enemies to lovers rom com. A great meet cute to open the novel. I fell in love with JIb! The audio narration for the Wyatt is too quiet compared to Josie.

When elementary school nurse Josie arrives to meet her brother for their not-quite-annual summer trip, instead of finding Jacob, she discovers she has been duped. Jacob can't take off work for a trip and instead is calling in a huge favor from Josie: helping his best friend recover from surgery. Wyatt is the perpetual grump, a famous hockey player Josie has never particularly liked, and a terrible patient. His foot is in bad shape, but nowhere near as bad as his surly attitude.

Begrudgingly, Josie agrees to stay for a week that becomes two. But when she finds out that Wyatt's injury ruined his plans to sail down the east coast on the Intracoastal Waterway, Josie surprises them both by agreeing to be his second set of hands.

Smooth sailing is nowhere to be found, and Wyatt is one cranky captain. With one disaster after another slowing their progress, Josie questions if they'll even be able to make it home without killing--or kissing?--each other. And yet, the longer they share cramped quarters and canned food, the more of Wyatt's layers she peels back until Josie realizes she misunderstood him and perhaps herself as well.

My first Emma St. Clair book. All the cutes you would expect - grumpy, well known athlete, spunky female, enemies to romance. Throw in the cute and plotting brother and you have an adorable story. Quick, light read that will keep you interested to the end.

Wyatt is a professional hockey player who is injured but is refusing to take care of himself. His agent and friend steps in and sends his sister Josie, a school nurse, to take care of him. Neither is aware of this and what unfolds is funny and sweet.

Andi Arndt was spectacular reading as Josie but I did feel that Patrick Zeller might not have been the best pick for Wyatt. If possible he was a bit too dramatic and definitely lost points with me on the audio version

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC audiobook!

Josie and Wyatt hate each other, but they are now stuck together. Josie’s brother tricks her into nursing hockey star Wyatt back to health. For years they have thought that the other one hates them, but sparks fly when they go on a sailing trip together. Enemies-to-lovers, brothers best friend romance. I enjoyed it. It was a quick, easy listen.

I listened to this on audiobook. The female narrator was great, but the male narrator bothered me and is the reason I have it 3 stars. Would have been 4, otherwise.

I received a copy of this audiobook from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Just finished If All Else Sails by Emma St. Clair, and as someone who thinks “dock talk” is a love language, this was almost my dream read! Josie is a landlocked nurse with big opinions, and Wyatt is a grumpy hockey player recovering from an injury—so of course they end up stuck on a boat together. Chaos, canned goods, and romantic tension ensue.

As a water-loving bookworm, I lived for the boat scenes, the salty air vibes, and the fact that someone finally put an enemies-to-lovers story on a sailboat. But let’s be honest—sometimes the plot drifted like an untied dinghy. I wanted a little more wind in the romance sails, ya know?

Still, 3.5 stars for charm, sass, and nautical nonsense. I laughed, I rooted for the couple, and I now I need to go book a cruise!

This was such a delightful, cosy, and heart-happy read.

Josie was full of sunshine and gumption. I found her internal monologues a little wearing at times, but overall really enjoyed her slow burn relationship with Wyatt. The writing style is easy and warm, and I loved reading about the authors inspiration at the end of the book.

The context of Wyatt’s uncles cabin and the yacht added extra intrigue, and made for a great escapist rom com. I particularly enjoyed Josie and Wyatt’s relationship with Jacob and their witty banter. What appealed to me most though was how genuine their relationship development was, and without the need for artificial conflict to generate interest.

I enjoyed this as both an ebook and audiobook. The audiobook narration was excellent, and really elevated the dynamic between Josie and Wyatt - I’d thoroughly recommend.

Thank you Thomas Nelson Fiction for a copy of this ARC and ALC. Opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you netgalley, the publisher and the author for my #gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Well this one was fun! Sometimes you can read a book close to where you are and feel like it didn’t do it justice. And this is absolutely NOT how I felt about this book. I loved all the references to Richmond places and the terrible Northern Virginia traffic. And even a school my husband went to🤣

You met Wyatt in the Appies series (but don’t have to read those before this one) and I loved to get his story! Josie was the perfect match for him and I loved seeing these two actually get to know each other.

🎧 I listened to this one and Andi Arndt and Patrick Zeller are the perfect Josie and Wyatt. Patrick is an amazing grump🤣 and we all love Andi.

Please read CW/TW before starting this (and any) book. This one is out August 5 and is the perfect summer read!

I have never read a book by this author but she is definitely going be a new favorite! This book was so funny that I laughed out loud several times. I was actually disappointed when the audiobook was finished because it was so engaging. Andi Arndt always has an amazing delivery! The only thing that I would criticize was the ending - it was very abrupt.

If All Else Sails by Emma St. Clair is the sweetest, most charming enemies-to-lovers romance I’ve read in ages! 💖✨ From the very first page, I was hooked by Josie’s lovable personality—she’s the kind of heroine who’s caring, funny, and just a little bit sassy, which makes her the perfect match for Wyatt’s grumpy but secretly adorable personality. 😍🌊

The story’s setting on a sailing adventure down the intercoastal waterway is absolutely enchanting—picture breezy days, salty air, and those hilarious mishaps that make you giggle out loud! 🌅😂 Emma captures the unpredictability of the sea and the chemistry between Josie and Wyatt so beautifully, it’s impossible not to root for them. ❤️⚓️

What really stole my heart was how their banter turns into genuine connection—proving that sometimes, getting lost at sea is exactly what you need to find yourself and someone special. 🧭💕 Josie’s kindness and Wyatt’s gruff exterior are the perfect combo, and I loved watching their walls come down one hilarious, heartfelt moment at a time. 🥰🌟

If you’re craving a lighthearted, swoon-worthy read with a dash of adventure and lots of adorable moments, this book is a must! 📚💫 Emma St. Clair has truly created a delightful escape where love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos set sail perfectly. 🚤💞 I couldn’t recommend it more—grab your favorite snack, cozy up, and get ready for a voyage you won’t forget! 🌸😊

I don’t even have the words to express how much I love and adore this book! I was giddy to discover that Wyatt (a former Appie) was the lead in this story and his meet-cute with Josie was utterly hilarious. I had both an ALC and an ARC and the narrators were fantastic!!!!

Wyatt is recovering from a hockey injury and Josie, a school nurse, is sent by her brother to care for him–in a m*rder cottage. This book is the perfect summer escape and it’s full of adventure, sailing, a cool whip container, Jib–the best-dressed dog ever, misconceptions, healing, swoony romance, and connection.

Emma St Clair is a favorite author of mine, as she never fails to incorporate a few unbelievable animal instances with her perfect combination of closed door spice, banter, humor, and emotion. The recipes of her books are everything that satisfies and satiates my love for this genre.

This is definitely a book I plan to re-read and has all the feels for an ideal summertime indulgence.

Content: mild romance; off-page vague talk of a near attack

This was my first to read the brother’s best friend trope and it will not be the last time because I fell in love with the trope.
First of all I loved Josie so much she is such a sunshine and she is HILARIOUS there was so funny moments in the book that made laugh so hard.
Second of all Wyatt is such a grumpy obviously but when you get to know him more you’ll know how a softie he is he is so cute and so in love with Josie and he with what he was doing for Josie he proved that to be loved is to be seen.
The slow burn in this was SLOW BURNING the slow burn was so good sooooo good.
And the dog in this book was every thing she was such a cute and wholesome dog.
Oh and the book was closed door and I loved this so much.
4.5 maybe 4.75 ⭐️

ARC Audiobook Review- pub date 8-5-25
3.5 ⭐

Thank you NetGalley, Emma St. Clair and Thomas Nelson Fiction for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

Super cute, fun and clean listen! No spice in this one so no volumes will need to be adjusted at red lights if you are listening in the car! :) Overall, this was just easy to listen to. It was a little lengthy but not boring. It was definitely not an enemies-to-lovers romance as it says in the synopsis. It is very clear from the beginning that Wyatt in no way hates Josie, she is just under the impression that he does. Contains all the expected tropes: one bed, forced proximity, Josie taking care of Wyatt when he is sick and of course there is a dog. No romance is complete without one! I thought Andi Arndt did a great job with narration for Josie, but I didn't love the male narrator- he was very fast (which is not good when you already listen on a higher speed), and I felt like his words were jumbled. I'm glad that the story was told primarily in Josie's POV.

Emma St. Clair is a new to me author and I will definitely be back for more by her!

School nurse Josie and hockey star Wyatt are forced together for the summer by Josie’s brother and best friend to Wyatt. Josie is enlisted to help Wyatt recover form a foot injury so that he can get back on the ice when pre season training hits. The enemies come to a truce and Josie agrees to help him on his intercostal sailing voyage while he heals.

Loved this enemy to lovers romance. Closed door, witty banter. St. Clair creates characters with depth and humor. The story has good development and pace. The progression for enemies to lovers felt more natural and not forced. Really liked this story!

For anyone who is against sports romance, I would describe it as sports romance adjacent. Wyatt is just a man that happens to be a hockey player—the story doesn’t revolve around his sport. More heavily an enemies to lovers trope

A cute sport type misunderstanding relationship. Josie thinks she's going on her annual trip with her brother, instead she finds herself taking care of a grumpy, injured hockey player, who also happens to be her brother's best friend.
She thinks he hates her, he can't keep himself from telling the wrong thing, but the more time they spend together, the more she sees of Wyatt and sparks begin to fly. The characters are likable and well developed, the banter as well as negotiations to get things done. Of course I enjoyed Gibby, the pet dog, and the outfits. This has some cute and laughable moments that is perfect for a day in the pool enjoying some sunshine and laughs. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and to Thomas Nelson Fiction

From the beginning until almost the end, The Banter is bantering that's for sure 😆😉 Josie and Wyatt are like the ones who are meant to be but aren't then are! Haha, I Loved it! Wyatt is such a Grump in the beginning because he doesn't want the help that he needs, and while Josie is tricked by her Brother Jacob it turns out to be a learning experience for both!

Thank you Netgalley, Thomas Nelson, and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the Chance to Listen to the audiobook before release! The Male Narrator Patrick Zeller
was my Favorite! Also, Andi Arndt was great, but I wish she almost matched the expressive talkiness that Patrick had!! it was so Great!

Emma St. Clair knocks it out of the park again with this enemies to lovers sailing trope. Josie thinks her brother’s best friend Wyatt hates her and after being conned into taking care of Wyatt, she is forced to see things differently.
Both voice actors were magnificent and made it easy to follow along with the storyline, as well as, be invested in Josie and Wyatt. I finished this story in two days, I just couldn’t take my AirPods out!
Highly recommend this audiobook if you enjoy two POV, with two audio actors, and an enemies to lovers situation. You’ll be smiling, laughing, and falling for them the whole way through! Wish I could give it 4.5 stars!

This was such a sweet YA romance. It had easily lovable characters, cute moments, and its a total comfort read.

I love me a slow burn with a happy ending any day of the week.

Totally recommend this as a good palate cleanser between series.

I truly loved this book! The plot, the main female character--Chef's kiss. The narrator for Josie was also perfection.

Josie and Wyatt's journey was everything I wanted it do be. I loved the grumpy sunshine of it all, and he was hysterical. I would take this audiobookj with me on a long haul road trip or plane ride--Perfect to keep me occupied and yearning for more from Emma St. Clair!

I will say that I did not love the male narrator, which made me so sad! His tone was very back and forth throughout the whole book; at times, I couldn’t hear what he was saying so I would turn it up, and then I would have to turn it down because he was yelling

Overall, I loved the story line, and I will defs be purchasing Emma St. Clair from now on!
