I liked this more than I thought it would. It's a fun paranormal fantasy adventure graphic series, but the star of the show is the budding relationship between the two main characters, with the added conflict of a possession. I'm excited to see where this goes and what other trials these two face by each other's sides.

Such a great start to a series. I really appreciate that the writers trusted the reader’s intelligence enough to bypass all of the usually dull world-building and dropped you right into the action. This felt cozy while also still being quite dark. I really loved the monster design and the mystery at the end definitely made me want to read the next one.

I love these characters, they're so fleshed out and the story balances dark and light beautifully right from the start! I'm familiar with the webcomic, and was always impressed by the depth of both characters. When I saw this was being published, I became curious about how the format was adjusted for book-shape, and if there would be any bonuses in the back. It is exactly what I had hoped! I really liked the prose bit, part of me is amazed that they put the time and energy into adding that extra step, but it also shows that they really do put thought into the inner working of the characters.

This is a cute little romp into a magical world where monsters abound. I can't wait to read the next volume to see how Jonah and Mercy's working relationship develops.
