This was a cute, short listen about going to school as a kid with dragons - how fun! The narrator and music were soothing and magical. I will say it was a bit hard for my toddler to follow along without pictures, so I think this would be a better audio book for an older child (maybe 5+ ages). If your child is into dragons and magic, this is for you! Thank you to Chelsea Campbell, Macmillan Audio and netgalley for the ARC!

When You Go to Dragon School by Chelsea M. Campbell was a super fun audiobook. I listened to it with my 5-year-old, and he loved it; not only was the story very entertaining, but the sound effects along with the narration made the audiobook truly captivating. We have listened to it multiple times, it is the perfect length for a short but fun story time.

Cute story. The narration and background sounds make the story come to life. Both of my children enjoyed the story and we have read it more than once! I think listening with a hard copy would enhance the experience even more. I like the twist of all the things you can do at dragon school to how you might not fit in to how you can help yourself fit in. Charming, and definitely worth the listen!

We absolutely LOVED this book! Sometimes with audiobooks for young kids it's hard to follow along without pictures. Obviously, pictures would make it even better, but this audiobook was the perfect length with the perfect narrator. We thought it was funny, silly and also thought provoking on what to do when you are different from someone else and in this case, it was to realize that even though we have differences we also have things in common and can easily find common ground if we think about it!

Right from the start, I was giggling at this super-cute story! The author manages to pack a lot into a picture book. The audio edition is narrated by Eunice Wong, who proves herself versatile—this is the first time I've heard her read a children's book.

I have already placed a library hold on the print edition, so I can enjoy the illustrations by Charlene Chua. I'm looking forward to reading this to my grands—the baby dragons.

Thank you NetGalley for an audio eARC.
5/5 stars.
I loved this audiobook! This book is amazing to read to a young audience because it doesn't shy away from the fact that everyone is different and you might not always fit in. It reminds children that even though they may be different, they have their own strengths that they can share with the world. It also has kids look at something universal like brushing you teeth to remind them that at a core level we really are all the same. This is such an empowering book for kids disguised as a silly story about humans going to dragon school. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

When You Go to Dragon School is a sweet, magical story about embracing what makes you unique. Perfect for kids learning to love who they are—because every dragon shines in their own way! The audio was fantastic!

The human school is full and the only openings are in dragon school. Will human kids be able to fit in? When You Go to Dragon School is a picture book about the worries of fitting in in a new environment. Even though the characters in this book are navigating dragon school, the lesson is easily transferable to normal life. It may be scary to be somewhere new, but be yourself and you will find your place.

The audio production is clear and has a music backtrack; both will help keep young listeners engaged. This would be a great early elementary resource.

Thanks to Macmillan Audio - Macmillan Young Listeners for an ALC of this audiobook for an honest review.

I listened to this with my 3 year old and we loved it! The narrator was engaging and emphasized parts to aid understanding well! Her tone shifts helped my toddler catch everything that was happening. The content of the book was fun for us to listen to and talk about. I think the overall message is great for when kids are getting ready to go to a new school or potentially in a classroom where students are having trouble relating to each other.

this was a highly enjoyable story about the pitfalls of going to a new school. I particularly enjoyed the narration and once again MacMillian children’s audio has a exceptional production quality. The narration is clear and I enjoyed the background sounds. Eunice Wong does an excellent job of bringing the story to life. And I would definitely listen to more audiobooks thread by her both children and adult.

I really enjoyed the messaging that sometimes you might be different than those around you, but that doesn’t mean you can’t fit in. I thought the representation of the dragon school was fun and would make sense to young readers.

My kids loved this audiobook! They are 9 and 4 and they were both entertained. And I was too! This is a great audiobook production with background music and sound effects. It’s a nice little 5 minute listen—would probably complement the reading of the physical picture book too, but it’s great as a stand alone.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

The audio version of this book gave it great sound effects that helped bring life to the words. It was cute and relatable for those who feel different or outcast. It gave a happy joyful tone to something many kids struggle with. Everyone is different and that is alright. But like in the book…everyone brushes their teeth. We all can find something in common. Very cute book

I wish we could have read this with the pictures accompanying it. Who doesn't love dragons??? My 6-year-old didn't love this one as much as I did because I think she really needed the pictures to bring it all together. Why was I picturing Fourth Wing??

*When You Go to Dragon School* is a charming and imaginative children’s audiobook that brings the whimsical idea of attending school with dragons to life. Chelsea M. Campbell crafts a fun and engaging story that explores all the quirky possibilities of dragon-filled classrooms—from fiery science experiments to aerial recess adventures. The playful scenarios will delight young listeners, sparking their creativity while making the unfamiliar feel exciting and safe.

Eunice Wong’s narration adds a lively energy to the story, perfectly capturing the book’s lighthearted tone. Her expressive delivery makes each dragon-school activity feel vivid and fun, keeping kids entertained from start to finish. While the story doesn’t delve too deeply into character or plot—focusing more on the novelty of its concept—it succeeds as a short, enjoyable listen that encourages curiosity and a love for imaginative play.

I’d rate this **4 out of 5 stars**—it’s a delightful pick for young dragon enthusiasts or any child who loves playful, fantastical stories. Thanks to **NetGalley** and **MacMillan Audio** for the advanced listener copy!

This was such a cute audiobook, and I will definitely be buying the physical book as well to see the illustrations. My two young boys (pre-Kindergarten age) loved it! It reminded me a lot of Dragons Love Tacos, but was still its own unique story.

Eunice Wong did an excellent job bringing liveliness to the narration, and I Ioved all of the sound effects that added to the immersive listening experience.
