I wish we could have read this with the pictures accompanying it. Who doesn't love dragons??? My 6-year-old didn't love this one as much as I did because I think she really needed the pictures to bring it all together. Why was I picturing Fourth Wing??

*When You Go to Dragon School* is a charming and imaginative children’s audiobook that brings the whimsical idea of attending school with dragons to life. Chelsea M. Campbell crafts a fun and engaging story that explores all the quirky possibilities of dragon-filled classrooms—from fiery science experiments to aerial recess adventures. The playful scenarios will delight young listeners, sparking their creativity while making the unfamiliar feel exciting and safe.

Eunice Wong’s narration adds a lively energy to the story, perfectly capturing the book’s lighthearted tone. Her expressive delivery makes each dragon-school activity feel vivid and fun, keeping kids entertained from start to finish. While the story doesn’t delve too deeply into character or plot—focusing more on the novelty of its concept—it succeeds as a short, enjoyable listen that encourages curiosity and a love for imaginative play.

I’d rate this **4 out of 5 stars**—it’s a delightful pick for young dragon enthusiasts or any child who loves playful, fantastical stories. Thanks to **NetGalley** and **MacMillan Audio** for the advanced listener copy!

This was such a cute audiobook, and I will definitely be buying the physical book as well to see the illustrations. My two young boys (pre-Kindergarten age) loved it! It reminded me a lot of Dragons Love Tacos, but was still its own unique story.

Eunice Wong did an excellent job bringing liveliness to the narration, and I Ioved all of the sound effects that added to the immersive listening experience.

The human school is fun -- but never fear you can go to dragon school! Incredibly fun and addresses tough issues like not fitting in, having strong feelings, and many more. This was a great read and will order prior to the first day of school this fall.

I absolutely loved this story—it was incredibly charming and perfect for young children. The only reason I selected "No" for including it in my classroom curriculum is that audiobooks alone can be challenging for little ones to stay focused on without a visual component. However, I would love to add a physical copy to my classroom library. The narrator truly brought the story to life with a warm and engaging voice, and the sound effects made it easy to visualize the scenes in my mind. I would absolutely recommend this audiobook to parents and my colleagues alike.

Thanks so much to netgalley and publishers for this ALC!

Super cute and silly. I wasn't sure how a story like this would work on audio, but it did! It made me laugh and I think it's lots of fun. I will for sure be recommending it! I found that the music added to the storytelling for sure and I think the narrator was a great choice as well. All around, excellent!

When You Go to Dragon School by Chelsea M. Campbell is a delightful little story that follows after the ‘human school’ fills up. Suddenly, only the local dragon school is available to go to. Thus begins an introduction to the school and the most wonderful opportunity for readers to explore ideas of fitting in and teaching culture to those who are different from you, even if they outnumber. Though we’re talking about people and dragons here, the parallel to real life was one I couldn’t help being thrilled by. The story is one that parents will want to read to their children rather than one to give to an emerging reader, the story existing a one I truly have nothing but praise for.

Paring the children’s book with the audiobook is another great opportunity, the musicality of the narration and the added sound effects adding so much fun to the story as a whole. I definitely think it would be best to pair the audiobook with the book, itself, rather than listening to it lone since you might miss out on the absolutely stunning visual artwork of the story, but this is one you can listen to on its own if you wish.

All in all, this is one of the best children’s books I’ve read in a while and I’m really excited to recommend it to families.

This book was pretty sweet. I think we all feel different sometimes and this would be a good way to work through feelings like that with a child. Plus who doesn’t love dragons? I listened to this with my five year old daughter who also enjoyed it. The audio was done very well too. Will recommend. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC copy of this Audiobook.

This is a fun audiobook that's perfect for my 6 1/2 and 7 1/2 year old to add to their rotation of approved falling-asleep to stories because it's not scary. Our criteria is that the book has to be familiar, and well-known, so we listen several times. It has to be entertaining without being creepy. This fits the bill! All kidding aside, we have enjoyed listening to this in the car and would love to read the accompanying picture book with it.

I feel that it is a good fit for fans of Dragons Love Tacos, and other cheerful picture books about dragons. It has a narrator with a calming voice and some fun sound effects.

I think this would make an ideal book that talks, so that readers can listen as they look at the pictures.
