This book was basically a delusional diary of a girl obsessed with a guy who lost interest in her. I kept hoping the point of view would change, that something would change, but it continued on in the same annoying vein. The author has promise in her writing, but the plot and main character leave much to be desired. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc and alc.

Unfortunately. compared to Olivia Worley's other books, this one fell flat for me. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and if I am being honest found plot to be confusing to a certain extent. I did like the audiobook narrator though.

This is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into obsession, deception, and the complexities of modern relationships. It's also Worley's adult debut. The story follows Jane, a 24-year-old aspiring playwright in New York City, who becomes fixated on Colin, a software engineer she briefly dated. When Colin starts seeing Zoe, a talented artist, Jane's obsession intensifies, leading her to infiltrate their lives in a bid to reclaim Colin's affection. However, her actions uncover dark secrets that entangle all three characters in a web of lies and murder.
Worley's writing is sharp and immersive, capturing the nuances of emotional manipulation and the dangers of unchecked desire. The novel's pacing keeps readers on edge, with unexpected twists that challenge perceptions and keep the narrative unpredictable. So Happy Together is a compelling read for fans of psychological thrillers, offering a fresh perspective on the complexities of love and obsession in the digital age.

So Happy Together is a fun, messy and twisty thriller. Jane is obsessed with Colin, whom she dated for a bit and is currently dating Zoe. Jane knows it's a matter of time before Colin realizes what he lost. Cue in the unhinged chaos that follows. I found this one rather fun and gripping.

What a messy, twisted, and fun book! Jane is chaotic and came across as a stalker throughout the bulk of the book. Colin, the MMC, seemed bleh to me and it made me wonder why two women were so into him. Enter, Zoe, the girlfriend who befriends Jane. Although it was a thriller there were times that dragged a little, I felt there could have been more of the past twisted in, but the ending nailed it.

This book is an amazing psychological thriller that puts you in perspective of a obsessive female main character. She obsesses over a man who doesnโ€™t care for her, but to her everything he does no matter what is all for her. This book was amazing at keeping you guessing whats real and whats in her head. The narrator played the part perfectly and was voiced at a perfect pace to listen to. The author was really good at keeping the ending predictable but unpredictable at the same time. Once you think you have an answer you donโ€™t.

I really, really did not like this book. It was 100% not for me. I kept listening, hoping it would get better, but unfortunately it did not. The characters were young and immature and unbelievable. Ugh. I feel like I need to watch a really happy movie now. This was not for me.

I listened to the audiobook for this one and while I liked the mystery story quite a bit, but the book itself was a little hard to read at times. The narrator did a good job bringing the character to life, but that character was hard to like and even listen to. Jane is in love and the fact that her boyfriend broke up with her before they could even become official is a minor detail. She creates plans to show him what he is missing and accidentally bumps into his new girlfriend Zoey. Zoey befriends Jane which works for her motivation to convince Colin they are meant to be soulmates. Jane stubbornly turns every red flag into a promise for something good to come which was hard for me. I donโ€™t like watching someone get gaslit and this character almost did it to herself. I will admit the twist at the end was excellent and helped make up for a lot of my earlier frustration. Overall this book wasnโ€™t bad and Iโ€™d try this author again.

Honestly not entirely sure how I feel about this one.

For a majority of the story I was so annoyed by the psychotic fmc. Still am, to be honest. But after hearing the full story of her past, I guess Iโ€™m a little sympathetic, but still find her to be irritating.

I sort of saw the twist coming, so that was a bit predictable.

The very last chapter did send me for a bit of a surprise though.

This is my first book by Olivia Worley. I canโ€™t say I loved it, but I definitely didnโ€™t hate it either. I think had Jane not been overly obsessed with Colin, I couldnโ€™t found this to be super enjoyable; but her obsession was eye-rolling and hard to swallow.

This thriller comes out June 3, 2025 and while I canโ€™t say Iโ€™ll be buying a copy for my shelves, it may be worth checking out if youโ€™re into crazy stalkers. Worley does a good job at leading the reading astray in some aspects.

Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the ALC of SO HAPPY TOGETHER. I can see this book being a highly requested one this summer.

3 stars for SO HAPPY TOGETHER by Olivia Worley. โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

A twisty psychological thriller! So Happy Together follows Jane as she stalks (for lack of a better word) her ex, Colinโ€”only to uncover far more than she ever expected. The story is packed with tension, dark surprises, and emotional complexity. The narrator was fantastic, capturing Janeโ€™s spiraling mindset and keeping the suspense alive throughout. A few plot points felt a bit over the top, but overall, itโ€™s a gripping listen that fans of unreliable narrators and domestic thrillers will love.

This sounded like such a great premise for a fun thriller.

Unfortunately, it ended up being a DNF for me. The characters were very flat, and I found them to be quite annoying actually. The whole thing was so over the top, which isn't always a bad thing, but it needs to be more engaging and entertaining if it's over the top. Nothing seemed to be happening to draw me in or make me want to keep reading. I tried to get into it, but after 25%, I just didn't want to keep going.

This book was kind of all over the place. The entire time I just kept thinking,'Why is she obsessed with Colin? What is so special about him?' As far as I can tell, there's nothing special and she just latched onto him.

I am not a fan of unreliable narrators although I know some people love that. Just know that there are multiple unreliable narrators in this book. Or maybe they just weren't developed enough to be reliable. 3.5 โญ๏ธ rounded up because I was entertained if confused for most of the book and the narrator was fantastic.

So Happy Together is a dark, twisty exploration of love and obsession in the digital age. Fans of psychological thrillers that delve into the complexities of the human psyche will find this novel an engaging read. While it may not offer groundbreaking insights, its fast-paced narrative and morally ambiguous characters make it a compelling addition to the genre.

This was surprisingly a good read! I wasnt sure if I was going to like it because the whole obsession with her ex came off as more of a middle school vibe vs an adult woman wanting her ex back, but it stopped bothering me as much once the story got going. I enjoyed the twists and turns in the story and thought the writing was very good. My only complaint was the ending. It left me wanting and Iโ€™m not sure if itโ€™s because there will be a part two or if the author wanted us to use our imagination on how things ended.

This was a fun thriller with major crazy ex-girlfriend vibes with Jane. She is over the top obsessed with Colin who she believes is her soulmate. Her actions are totally questionable and even more so when she befriends Colin's GF, Zoe.

The thriller is twisty and entertaining. Michelle H. Lee did a great job on the narration.

Thank you @macmillan.audio @minotaur_books for a copy of this.

Audiobook Review: So Happy Together by Olivia Worley
Narrated by Michelle H. Lee

I received this audiobook from NetGalley, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to discover and read new authors and share my thoughts.

So Happy Together was my first book by Olivia Worley, and while it wasnโ€™t a perfect fit for me, it had some interesting elements that kept me engaged. The story sets up with one expectation and then completely pivots in a direction I wasnโ€™t anticipating, which I did appreciate. Just when you think you know where itโ€™s goingโ€”think again!

The plot follows Jane, a character who is obsessively attached to her short-term ex-boyfriend Colin. While her intense focus on him became a bit repetitive and, at times, frustrating, the unraveling of the story kept me curious enough to stick with it. I was able to predict part of the ending, but only a small pieceโ€”there were definitely surprises I didnโ€™t see coming.

Michelle H. Lee, the narrator, did a great job. Her voice was pleasant, her pacing was smooth, and she conveyed the characters' emotions well. I had no complaints about the audio quality or performanceโ€”it was a solid listening experience overall.

I love audiobooks because they allow me to multitask, and this one accompanied me well through daily routines. While So Happy Together wasnโ€™t completely for me, it wasnโ€™t a total miss either. Iโ€™m glad I had the chance to listen and would still be open to exploring more from Olivia Worley in the future.

Thank you again to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to and review this audiobook!

3.5 stars

Jane is really into Colin. Colin breaks up with Jane (can we call it a break up after six dates? Well...). Colin is now dating Zoe. Jane is now determined to connect with both of them in wildly inappropriate ways. The kids are not okay.

When this novel begins, Jane seems like the typical obsessed 20 something who just isn't getting the hints about this person who is clearly perfect for her, even though they can't even make it into the double digits of dates. She's a creeper, and she does not accept anyone's social cues. This becomes most obvious when she intentionally runs into Colin and his new partner, Zoe, early on, and she accepts an invitation to a social event at which she is clearly not wanted.

While some of the novel proceeds in extremely expected ways, Worley does throw in some twists that make the experience more fun for readers and less so for the characters. Come for the creeper/obsessed "romance" vibes and stay for the camp.

Thank you NetGalley & Macmillan Audio for the ALC

The novel begins with Jane's plan to get Colin back. Girlie needed some friends to tell her he's not that into you and to put her energy towards healing herself but where's the fun in that? This was a twisted tale of dating, relationships and wild conclusions.

If overthinking burned calories -as they say - Jane would be SNATCHED from the amount of overthinking she does. It was fun listening to her reach absurd conclusions and work through problems.

I really enjoyed the audiobook narration by Michelle H. Lee. The tone and pace were perfect for the story and created an immersive atmosphere.
