3.5 stars rounded up
I was entertained throughout this audiobook. From the very beginning, Jane’s story kept me engaged and I had to know what she was going to do next. She was obviously extremely naive and delusional, but you couldn’t help but to root for her.
The ending fell flat for me. I could tell what the author was trying to do, but it just didn’t fit within the story. It felt like a half attempt to throw in a twist that was underwhelming.
The part where Jane was shown pictures of herself at the show, was definitely done before. Very “The Voyeurs” movie.
The narration was great, I listened at 1.75x
Nothing ground breaking, but an entertaining enough read!

3.5 stars. While the author wants to compare this to You, I didn't really think it was all that similar. What this book's main character really reminded me of was another book I read (and loved), earlier this year, She's a Lamb!. While that book was about obsessing over the role of Maria in the Sound of Music, and this one was about obsessing over a man, I found the voices of Jane and Jessamyn, in their single-mindedness and delusion, to be very similar, and I couldn't help thinking of that book and comparing. (All that to say, if you liked this book, read that one too! I liked this one, but She's a Lamb was superior IMO.)
I love an unhinged female narrator, so this book was right up my alley. Watching Jane as she wormed her way back into the life of "the love of her life", a man named Colin with whom she went on 6 dates, kept me glued to the story. Jane becomes fast friends with Colin's new girlfriend Zoe, under the premise that she's Colin's friend from college. As she gets closer she begins to wonder if he could be more dangerous than she thought (and whether that would actually bother her...) I thought the first half of the story was stronger than the second--eventually we go from unhinged character study to a rather convoluted plot that wants to throw every single "twisty thriller" trope at us, and it gets to be a bit much. Nevertheless, it was a fun story that kept me totally engaged, so I recommend it to anyone who wants a fast-paced thriller about a slightly delusional, morally gray woman. But give it a pass if you've had it with too many twists for twists' sake. (And read She's A Lamb!)
The narrator, Michelle H. Lee was pitch perfect and she was a fantastic voice for this character. Really good job at differentiating the characters' voices, especially making Zoe's voice very distinct from Jane's. Highly recommend the audio format for this one!

This cover is so freakin' fun, so this book has been on my radar for awhile on NetGalley. When I saw it pop up on audio, I hit request right away.
📖: Jane and Colin dated. He broke up with her and has a new girlfriend, Zoe. But Jane is convinced they're meant to be. She manages to weave her way back into Colin's world and even befriend Zoe, but then Jane makes a disturbing discover that has her questioning everything.
🤝: This may be a good fit if you enjoy:
- obsession stories
- so many secrets
- never knowing who to trust
💭: I thought this was a fun one! The first chunk I had to keep reminding myself I chose a book about obsession/stalker vibes because Jane was just that. I was like, 'Girl, move on'. Once we got into the backstory and twisty parts, I was a lot more interested. There are some reveals I saw coming and some unexpected turns. It got a little wild at the end, but I ultimately liked how it wrapped up.
🎧: Michelle H. Lee gave Jane a strong voice, and it really worked for the "do we like her or not?" Especially since it's a single POV, I think audio is a great choice for this one.
Rating: I liked it! (3.5 rounded up)

I enjoyed this one! I listened to it and thought the narration was great. This is one of those books where you are never sure who to believe. It had me second guessing everything up until the last page.
I didn't love the ending but I really enjoyed listening to this one. I think fans of The Last Mrs. Parrish will enjoy this one as well.
Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the ARC!

I was a little weary going in thanks to mixed reviews I had read beforehand. But this audiobook had me hooked from the start, so easy to binge through! The narrator did a great job of converting the main character's particular brands of emotions, ranging from smitten to jealous, paranoid to manipulative and scheming. The main character was delulu and unhinged, and I just kept wanting to say "oh honey" at the alternate reality she seemed to live in, but I could not stop listening to her train wreck. And the twists ended up catching me by surprise, making the book even better as I kept reading! Such a fun thriller!

"So Happy Together" had me absolutely hooked from the very beginning. I could not stop listening to this audiobook. I NEEDED to know what happened amidst this all-too-rea; world of online dating and dating-app relationships. Worely plays into the unknown world meeting someone online and never really knowing who is behind the profile while also worrying endlessly about the status of your ever-changing relationships. I felt this book hit the nerve of today's dating culture and made for a unique and interesting, yet suspenseful take on modern romance while also touching on the mental tolls these kinds of relationships can take.
Jane is a 24 year old, aspiring playwright who is looking for love in the New York City. Like so many before her, Jane turns to dating apps to find the man of her dreams. After several dates with Colin, a beautiful and driven engineer, she is smitten. When Colin suddenly breaks it off, though, Jane is left reeling and confused. What did she do wrong? Why did Colin ghost her? Soon, she discovers Colin is dating a social media influencer Zoe Ember and will stop at nothing to prove that Zoe is totally and completely wrong for Colin and he has made a grave mistake. Between stalking Colin and befriending his new fling, Jane discovers horrific truths about Colin that put everyone at risk for more than just a bad breakup.
This book had me both laughing out loud and on the edge of my seat. I cannot recommend it enough for anyone looking for a relevant, modern thriller driven by motives of love and revenge.

I flew through So Happy Together—it pulled me in from the very first two chapters and didn’t let go. The pacing was tight, and I found myself wanting to know what would happen next with every page. It was one of those reads where I kept saying, “just one more chapter,” and suddenly I was halfway through.
What really stood out to me was the element of stalking. It felt disturbingly realistic, which made the tension even more gripping. People do go through this kind of thing, and the book didn’t shy away from showing how unsettling and invasive it can be. It gave the story a darker, more grounded edge that I appreciated.
While I didn’t find every part perfect, it was definitely a strong read that stayed with me afterward. If you like suspense that feels rooted in real-world behavior with a slightly obsessive twist, this one is worth checking out.

I am into the romance/thriller vibe. Jane was a bit much but that was what made the book good. This was so twisty that I had no idea what was going on. This was much darker than I thought it would be but it was very engaging. The narrator was great.

I have watched shows where a character was so far out there, so awkward, so socially off, that I put my own hands over my eyes. That's what this is like. Jane honestly believes that she and Colin are soulmates, and she has to figure out how to make him understand that when he gets a new girlfriend. She makes friends with the girl, Zoe, but she also does some insane things like date Colin's roommate and steal and copy his key.
This is all pretty crazy, and the murders haven't even happened yet. I did not see where this was going, and it was deliciously dark and humorous.
The narrator was perfect, with what I imagined her voice really sounded like and an air of believability.

3.75 Audiobook. NetGalley ARC. this book was alright. I didn’t like the fact that Jane was so obsessed with Colin after 6 dates. Zoey seemed pretty genuine. I like the friendship between. Jane and Zoey. Then the ending with the surprised twist, I did kinda see that coming so I wasn’t all that surprised. All in all I liked the book and the narrator.

I would actually give this book a 3.5, but since I cannot rate in halves, I rounded up. I thought this was fun, creative, and made multiple twists that I didn't quite see coming. Jane is your quintessential "fell in love on the first date and now I must make you see we're perfect together" stalker type. But when the focus of her obsession appears to have moved on, the twists and turns begin. Basically, all the characters are a bit deranged, so just buckle up. I think there were some bizarre turns that take you out of the world of this book and make you question some character inconsistencies. I also felt certain scenes toward the end felt so rushed I had to rewind to see what happened only to still question how we got here. Overall, I enjoyed it and definitely would recommend as a fun thriller. The Audio narrator was very good and definitely made it easy to listen.

Okay, I was not expecting this fantastic novel to be one of my favorite books of the year! A wonderful, biting, feminist and funny exploration of obsession, female friendship, and murder -- this book is truly innovative and a delight to read (or listen to in my case - fabulous audiobook narrator, too.)
Jane is just a little bit obsessed with Colin; a guy she had six dates with but she just KNOWS is meant to be her forever love. The problem is; he ghosted her -- and as she sees on Instagram, he now has an impossibly cool new girlfriend, Zoe. Jane starts stalking Colin but somehow becomes friends with Zoe and then discovers some shocking news about Colin - involving murder. She then becomes an unlikely sleuthing partner with his new girlfriend, while still being obsessed with Colin. I mean, murder isn't THAT BAD; right?
This was just a hilarious, clever, literary (Hamlet! Ophelia!) read which I enjoyed every second of. Olivia Worley is a delightful writer who gave me many LOLs and thrills simultaneously. A perfect combination of thriller and sly feminist humor. I can't wait to read whatever Olivia Worley writes next, and I may read this one again soon because it was just so much fun. Five shiny stars!

I loved it. This book was so good! 3.75, rounded up to 4 stars.
The birthday party and the awkwardness.. oh my goodness! I laughed. I cringed.
This book is messy and chaotic. I usually do not like that unless done very well by the author, and Olivia Worley did it well.
It is a bit predictable, but there was a twist I didn't see coming. So that was great!
Think unhinged stalker. Plenty of turns.
A whodunit thriller, if you will.
Hamlet references.
The structure of the plot is done well. The pace was perfect! No slow-burn here, and I loved that about this book.
Characters are so crazy, it's funny. Well-developed characters. Twists in characters' development.
You all need to meet Jane.
Fun for your summer TBR.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Olivia Worley for the opportunity to read this ARC!
Happy Reading!

This book was engaging and quick-paced. It was kind of funny to read Jane’s “Jane logic.” She’s like a friend who you want to pull aside and shake a little. Based on the cover, I thought it was be trite but it was a surprisingly satisfying read.

Thank you MacMillan and St Martin's Press /Minotaur for review copies. Audiobook: this was really well narrated, the voice acting is what made this an unexpectedly engaging read for me!
Olivia Worley's So Happy Together is the perfect kind of summer suspense—ideal for poolside reading, airplane journeys, or road trip listening. I was immediately pulled into the story, despite usually steering clear of anything with a "stalker" vibe. This novel, though, is so much more. It’s twisty, it’s steeped in toxic relationships, and it reads like a dark little ode to women, revenge, and even Ophelia. At its core, it’s good old-fashioned “who’s lying?” storytelling.
At times, it felt like an oddly satisfying "FU" to the men who hurt women—carrying a definite he had it coming energy. The pacing is solid, with well-placed twists and reveals that keep the story moving while maintaining just enough uncertainty about what’s really happening—or what has already happened.
I was especially intrigued by how Jane and Zoe explore their connection through Colin, and how one seemingly small lie at the beginning spirals into a full-blown unraveling as their lives collide.

This had a fun, frothy setup — a fake reality dating show on a yacht? Yes, please — but the execution didn’t quite stick the landing. The characters had potential, but the emotional arcs felt a little shallow, and the tension never fully built. There’s drama, backstabbing, and secrets galore, but it started to feel repetitive by the halfway point. Still, the premise is entertaining enough to carry it through, especially if you’re in the mood for something light and twisty.
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5 stars
Rated PG-13 for language, suggestive content, and light reality-TV-style drama.

A fantastic revenge story with twists you won't see coming. The narrator really captured the characters you want to love and the ones you love to hate.

If Jane were your best friend, she’d text you “he’s the one” after a first date, and three weeks later you’d find her deep-stalking his LinkedIn, wearing his hoodie like it’s a war medal, and whispering “I manifested this.” "So Happy Together" is a psychological thriller disguised as a romcom that got mugged in an alley and came back holding a knife. And let me tell you: it’s unhinged, addictive, and leaves you asking how many red flags it takes to stitch together a restraining order.
Jane is a 24-year-old playwright in New York, which already tells you she’s a dreamer with a flair for dramatics — the kind of person who feels things deeply and rewrites the ending when real life doesn’t cooperate. So when she meets Colin, a sweet software engineer who probably has strong opinions about running shoes, she decides: this is it. Her Person. Her emotional endgame. There’s just one problem. Colin doesn’t agree.
After six dates (yes, six), Colin does the reasonable thing and ends things. Jane, however, decides this isn’t rejection — it’s just the beginning of their love story. So she starts watching. And waiting. And definitely-not-accidentally running into him. Unfortunately for Jane’s inner monologue, Colin moves on. Enter Zoe: a glowing Brooklyn artist with the kind of effortless cool that says, “I do yoga at sunrise and still seem like I just rolled out of bed on purpose.” She’s also... actually pretty nice. But Jane knows she’s not the one. She just has to prove it.
What starts as petty jealousy and bad texting decisions quickly spirals into full “Lifetime Original Movie with a Podcast Tie-In” territory. Jane breaks into Colin’s apartment (totally normal behavior), and finds something she really shouldn’t. From there, the book kicks into high-gear thriller mode, and what felt like a messy millennial love story takes a hard left into obsession, secrets, and deeply questionable decision-making. This feels a bit “You”-adjacent — if Joe Goldberg used lip gloss and made Spotify playlists obsessively.
Is it twisty? Oh yeah. Is it subtle? Not really. But the ride is a wild one, and Michelle H. Lee’s narration absolutely elevates the experience. She gives Jane that bright, breathy calm of someone you wouldn’t immediately suspect of emotional arson — until she casually mentions she knows your address. The second half of the story leans into chaos a little too hard at times, and a few character choices feel like they were made with the express goal of getting optioned for a streaming series, but honestly? I didn’t mind. I was too busy binge-listening.
Jane works because she taps into something real — that raw, uncomfortable place where love curdles into obsession. She’s messy, vulnerable, and just self-aware enough to be dangerous. Watching her spiral feels like watching your worst breakup fantasy play out with better lighting — and then feeling incredibly grateful they stayed fantasies. And just when you think you’ve got her figured out, the ground shifts — and you realize she might not be the most unstable person in this story.
Three and a half stars. The setup is sharp, the voice is compulsive, and the spiral? Glorious. It doesn’t stick every landing, but I don’t need perfection — I just need the kind of emotional nosedive that makes me scream into a throw pillow. This one delivered.
Whodunity Award: For Treating Stalking Like a Love Language — a Creepy, Unsettling, Definitely-Seek-Help Love Language
Huge thanks to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the early access to the audiobook — and for pairing this twisty, addictive story with narration that hits every emotional beat just right. Michelle H. Lee brought Jane to life in a way that made it impossible to press pause.

Olivia Worley’s So Happy Together is a delightful mix of humor, heart, and just a dash of chaos. It’s the kind of book that makes you smile one moment and then second-guess your own choices the next. The characters are undeniably charming, each with their quirks and flaws that make them feel like friends you’ve known forever—or at least want to grab coffee with. The story revolves around relationships, miscommunications, and those all-too-relatable moments when things don’t go quite as planned. Worley’s writing is witty and engaging, making it easy to root for the protagonists even when they’re stumbling through their messes. However, at times, the plot felt a tad predictable, and some comedic moments missed the mark just slightly. Still, it’s a cozy read perfect for those lazy weekends when you’re in the mood for something light but a little heartfelt. All in all, So Happy Together is a charming journey with plenty of laughs and a few lessons along the way. It’s not perfect, but it’s warm, funny, and a worth-a-try for anyone craving a feel-good story with some relatable ups and downs. Three stars—good, fun, and just the right amount of happy chaos!

So happy together
Stalker, obsessive ex girlfriend thriller loading ! I needed a quick, popcorn thriller after reading and long series, and this filled that need for me.
Jane is a young woman living in NYC. She falls into insta love with Colin, and they have a full six dates before Colin breaks things off. He moved on and she pretends to and plans dates at a spot Colin frequently visits in hopes of running into him and get him back.
This is just the beginning of what Jane will do to convince Colin she is right for him. She befriends Zoe, the new girlfriend and gets caught up in trying to bring uncertainty to Zoe about her relationship with Colin.
This was a five star cover, drew me to the book right away. Not quite a five star book for me, but I did enjoy it and would read more from this author.
Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan audio for the ALC in exchange for an honest review. Release date 6/3/25.
