Really cute to get you in the mood for Spooky Season. I loved the friendship dynamic of the FMC and her best friend. Descriptions got lengthy at times but overall a fun read.

ARC Review of Crazy Spooky Love by Josie Silver

🖤This is a perfect Halloween read! I had the time of my life reading this. The main character, Melody, starts a girl ghost busting business with her best friend. They solve the murder of a ghost and figure out how to get him and his brothers to move on.

🧡The characters are quirky, and I love every single one of them. Other than the one eared pug, I think Melody’s grandmother is my favorite.

🖤The mystery was exciting and drove the story. I predicted who the killer was, but I was still surprised by all the twists!

🧡The romance was tense and steamy! Melody has to work alongside her ex boyfriend/business rival, and she’s trying to avoid the nosey reporter that doesn’t believe in ghosts that she can’t stay away from!

I couldn’t put this down! If you’re looking for a paranormal romance or cozy paranormal mystery for your fall TBR, pick up this book!

I originally saw this billed as a romance, but I’d definitely put it solidly in the mystery camp instead. It was such a fun, light story and the mystery had just enough twists and turns to keep me reading. I loved the little band of misfits in this story — both human and ghost — and the first book in this series just made me soooo excited for book two. This felt like a real departure from Josie Silver’s romances, but in a way I really enjoyed.

4 stars

Yes it's chaotic and yes it's sort of silly in spots but it's also fun. I mean, you gotta love ghostbusters. Oh and romcom. And murder. Melody and Fletcher are opposites which makes for lively banter and more than a little tension. The mystery isn't too complicated and neither is the love triangle (really easy to figure out who to root for.) Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A romp.

really fun and effective romantic fantasy. the solution to the mystery is never subtle whatsoever, and neither is the climax, but that works for it and lets the character bonding take center stage. however, i did find some plot threads unresolved. i hope that in a sequel, they will be resolved. 4 stars. tysm for the arc.

I had so much fun reading this book! The whole Girls Ghostbusting Agency team stole my heart from the very beginning. The humor had me giggling throughout the story and I cant wait to see what this found family gets into in the next book!

With the word "love" in the title I did expect romance to be a bigger focus of the story than it was, and while there were two potential love interests, I thought it was pretty clear early on that one of them was a terrible choice. I really look forward to seeing the relationship development in book 2.

I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to Netgally and Ballantine for the eARC

This is my first Josie Silver book, and I absolutely adored it! I'm not gonna lie, I was expecting way more romance but I'm not at all mad about the pacing (and thankfully we will get more of Fletch in the next book), because the other relationships/characters more than made up for it. Melody and Marina's relationship is equal parts hilarious and endearing. I love how steadfast Marina is in defending Melody. And oh my god, don't get me started on Artie! My heart broke for his innocence, but it was so lovely to see him getting excited and coming out of his shell! The plot was so good - I was not expecting it to turn into a murder investigation, and I felt like it got wrapped up nicely! I cannot wait for the next one!

Crazy Spooky Love is a departure from the Josie Silver books I’m used to. It is filled with humor, witty banter and sexual tension, so if that is your favorite type of rom com, this book is for you! I enjoyed it, but it veered a bit into the zany.

I loved the ghost story and the mystery element, and it was so fun to read about Lestat, the one-eared pug.

I could have done without the love triangle since one guy is not right for her at all, and the other doesn’t respect her job or family, but I’m sure he’ll get there as the series progresses.

Overall, this is a funny and enjoyable read for spooky season!

This landed in my hands at the perfect time. I’ve been binging ghosthunting/paranormal shows. With spooky season starting up, it was exactly the kind of read I wanted.

Melody made me laugh and I liked how she ran with her own ghostbusting biz. Fletcher is the skeptic, and I was excited to see where their opposite dynamics would take the story.

The pacing slowed in spots but not enough to take me out of it. I think the length of the book was perfect for a quick read. Anything spooky and romantic already has me hooked, so I might be a little biased.

Overall, it was a cozy and fun paranormal rom com that fits the season perfectly.

Thank you NetGalley and Ballantine for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own ❤️

Y'all! This was such a fun way to start out the fall/spooky season. This was such a fun read that had me cackling. It was quirky in all the best ways. The relationship that our FMC has with her friends and her family are the best. Grandma is the GOAT. This was such a fun read. I cannot wait to see what other antics this motley crew gets into. You will glide through this one. Go get it! Start reading now!!

What's worse than having to tell your mom and grandma that you're ditching the family business to start your own ghostbusting business? Having your ex become your business rival when trying to help three ghosts go to the other side. Not enough. Okay, throw in a pesky, but hot, reporter who definitely does not believe in the supernatural. Melody and the Girls' Ghostbusting Agency (plus Artie, aww) are going to do everything they can to help three ghostly brothers cross to the other side so that the current owner can sell, sell, sell. Will they be able to solve the mystery before Leo, the stupid ex? Will Melody be able to keep Fletcher (and her heart) at bay while she finishes the job? This is Melody's first case, and she is staking her claim!

This was such a great read. It kept me engaged the entire time and I could not put it down!!!! I laughed, I swooned and I cried!!! I genuinely had all of the feels and I’d love to hear more about Melody Bittersweet’s adventures with the gang.

Cozy, perfect, light read for spooky season!

I really enjoyed Crazy Spooky Love. It was a fun read. It reminded me a little of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. In the best way. There were quite a few characters but they were all unique and memorable. I really enjoyed Artie. This didn't feel like the typical Josie Silver book. But I loved it. I can't wait to see where the series is going.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Crazy Spooky Love was fun. It was kind of cute and quirky. I really wanted to love this book, but it just didn't do it for me. I did love Melody's friend group, and the ghosts were fun. The writing was good and it was a fun book to kick off spooky season. 👻

I've heard good things about other books by this author & am definitely still interested in checking out her other works.

2.75 out of 5. This is Scooby doo for adults, it should be Hallmark Mystery Movie, I love those but it should just be 1 hour and a half and not a whole book length. Whilst I enjoyed the mistery of it all are we really expected to believe a killer that lived in the house 50 years after thy committed a murder would keep his murder weapon all this time and diaries saying where everything was? He would have set fire to everything. for sure! Melody is a sweet character and I actually will read the next installment as her and her tension with Fletcher made me want some more, and maybe the next mystery has less technical flaws?

Not really my sense of humor but a really funny time!

Crazy Spooky Love combines a sweet mystery with an engaging side cast and some fun romance elements. I did find myself caring a lot more about the haunting itself than I necessarily did about Melody, but Art, Marina, and Fletch kept me engaged in the scenes outside the home as well.

If you like a cozy, Scooby Doo-style paranormal detective story, I definitely recommend checking this one out! I'll be sticking with the series even if just to see how Melody's relationships with Fletch and Leo develop!

Thank you @NetGalley and @ballantinebooks for the ARC- all thoughts my own!

Thank you to Ballentine/Dell for the ARC of Crazy Spooky Love!

This book was plain FUN from beginning to end! It is 100% the perfect book to get anyone in the spooky/fall season mood. This book gave me a Ghost Buster vibe, but in a very PG rated kind of way. Our main character Melody Bittersweet (the most perfect name) is a doll. I loved her from beginning to end. Her sidekicks were loyal and sweet and her champagne slugging grandma was the cherry on top. There is a side of romance that is subtle, but charming too.

Melody is the kind of protagonist that you want to be friends with, and also immediately agree with all of her decisions even when you know it's not going to work out well.

Melody sees dead people, which is a trait in her family, but rather than stay in the family business of passing on messages from spirits, Melody wants to help them move on. She starts her own, and her first case takes her to a house haunted by three brothers, stuck because one of them was murdered and the other two brothers are the most likely culprits.

Along the way we meet Melody's hot but douchey ex-boyfriend, also a psychic who has spun it into a television slot, and the hunky reporter determined to prove her family is full of crap. We also get her badass hot best friend, and a new assistant whose ghost father begged her to give him the job.

This books was full of hijinks, haunting, and hotness. All the things I need to have a good time. I can't wait for the second book!

Thank you Dell and NetGalley for an early access of Crazy Spooky Love.
This book was a very cute paranormal murder mystery.
Perfect for the spooky season ahead of us!
Medium Melody Bittersweet is looking for a change in life. When she starts her own ghost hunting business her first job is anything but easy. She and her ex are forced into a competition to see who can finally rid of the ghost who have been hunting the Scarborough manor. While she’s unraveling secrets she finds herself in a love triangle.

Personal review: 3.5⭐️
While I thought the plot was engaging at times, I felt Some parts of the story felt a bit drawn out and could have been more concise. My favorite part of the book however was the murder mystery and paranormal element in the story.

👻💘📚✨

This book is equal parts spooky and swoony, with ghostly hijinks, small-town charm, and a love triangle that’s just as entertaining as the hauntings. Melody Bittersweet’s ghostbusting adventures had me laughing, gasping, and rooting for her heart almost as much as her business. Perfect if you like your Fall rom-coms with a side of spirits (the ghost kind, not the cocktail kind).

What a fun new series!

Josie Silver's Crazy Spooky Love introduces us to the Bittersweet family—three generations of women who can see and talk to ghosts.

Melody is our entry point. She's coming off a breakup and a birthday that is making her feel the need to start something new. So, she and her best friend start a ghost busting company (with the help of the son of a ghost that Melody helps off to the other side).

Their first case pits them against Melody's ex-- another ghost talker-- but a douchey one who dumped her to be on TV. Anxious to beat him they jump in full speed ahead, until reporter Fletcher pops up-- a dreamy thorn in her side. He thinks the ghost stuff is a con, but they're both drawn to each other.

SIlver's mystery is emotional, even when dealing with ghosts, and the 'romance' of tension between Melody and Fletcher is steamy.

With elements of mystery, supernatural, and romance, Crazy Spooky Love is a delight to read. The romance could have been a little more romance-y to me, but I'm hoping for the following books!
