This book was marketed as romance but it has a little bit of something for everyone. I enjoyed the humor and the mystery. It was a quick read as I wanted to find the culprit.

I don’t know that I would really call this a romance but that’s okay! There were definitely romantic elements but this was definitely more of a cozy paranormal mystery and I truly enjoyed it for that! Josie Silver almost always does it for me and I didn’t have any concerns I wouldn’t eat this up (hey turns out I was right lolol!) this is truly a perfect read as we get to spooky season!

I thought 'One Day in December' was well-written even if I didn't particularly care for the set-up of it; this one, with its quirky fantasy element, seemed like it would be more up my alley. Also, I liked the idea of a autumnal rom-com--fall being my favorite time of year--and the whole ghost-busting bit seemed apt for October.
The first sign that I was gonna have a bad time here was that the quirkiness of the premise became a undigestible amount of oddball zaniness. The characters are caricatures, with each offbeat personality trait exaggerated to the nth degree. The FMC is supposedly 27 but her internal monologuing places her around 14 years of age.
It's the first of a series, and that's on me for not paying more attention. I was in it for a silly little love story, and instead I got the early set-up for a love triangle. The mystery takes more of the center stage, and I was just not invested in that.
This will work better for people who don't go into it expecting a 'One Day in December' type romance.
Thank you to Ballantine and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Don't let the romance marketing fool you—this is a paranormal cozy mystery with romantic garnish, and that's perfectly fine.
Melody Bittersweet's ghost-busting venture gets complicated when ex-boyfriend Leo (rival ghost whisperer) and skeptical reporter Fletcher (hot but annoying) crash her supernatural party. But the real stars are Silver's supporting cast: Melody's multigenerational ghost-sensitive family, loyal bestie, eager assistant Artie, and even the dog create genuine warmth (and hilarious moments)
The Scarborough brothers mystery drives the plot better than any love triangle drama. Melody's quest to forge her own supernatural path gives her agency beyond choosing between two men orbiting her life.
The author nails the cozy English village vibe with genuinely funny dialogue. The ghosts are more mischievous than menacing, the characters feel lived-in, and Chapelwick seems like somewhere you'd actually want to visit (Sicilian pastries included).

The perfect read for a witty, fun, and ghostly read!
If you liked The Dead Romantics by Ashely Poston, I think you’ll like this one.
My second book from this author and I had an amazing reading time, I found myself picking up this book because it was quite interesting, it delivers such joy, fall-vibes, the diversity of characters and storytelling.
Occasionally, I did sometimes zone-out and didn’t enjoy some dialogues that made me unmoved or unconcerned for some characters, but I would still recommend.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange of a honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley and Ballantine for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
This was a cute start to a new mystery series centering around Melody Bittersweet and the Girls’ Ghostbusting Agency.
Like all the women in her family, Melody sees the dead. But instead of working the family business communicating with them, she decides to branch out on her own, forms an agency with best friend Marina and goofy tall guy Artie to help them move on. Her first case, investigating a century old murder and trying to help 3 ghost brothers move on, puts her and her gang of whacky sidekicks into danger, brings her closer to sexy and infuriating reporter Fletcher Gunn, and puts her back into the orbit of her ex, Leo Dark.
At times, Melody is TOO cute and pithy, and she definitely has elements of “not like other girls”. But the world is so well-formed, the side characters are vibrant and the mystery is engrossing. I’m a sucker for “location as a character” and the manor where the murder and subsequent haunting occur is such a strong element in the story. The chemistry between Fletch and Melody is on fire. The writing is mostly fast-paced.
Would I continue the series? Yes

This was a fun and cozy mysterious read set in the perfect season. I am a fan of Josie Silver and really enjoyed this attempt at a new type of story! I will continue to look forward to more of this style of writing. Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange of my honest opinion.

Josie Silver has officially bewitched me again. Crazy Spooky Love is everything I crave in her books! Flawed but lovable characters, laugh-out-loud moments, and a romance that sneaks up, grabs your heart. This story feels like fall in a book—witch hats, a sprinkle of magic, cozy small-town vibes.
If One Day in December or A Winter in New York had you swooning, prepare to be utterly enchanted. A little witchy, a little quirky, a whole lot of heart. This is a curl-up under a blanket, pumpkin spice latte in hand, read it in one sitting kind of book.

Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read and review this book.
Crazy Spooky Love was just what I needed to kick off the fall/Halloween spirit! Josie Silver definitely took me on a trip with this murder mystery.
I did have some parts where I was finding it to be a little drawn out or not my style but the book was quick to pick back up and get back to the main plot line.
I highly recommend this book to lovers of ghosts, sarcasm, and a romance that isn’t the forefront of the story.

Thank you to Random House and NetGalley. I received an email out of the blue letting me know that I had been approved for the advanced copy of this book that I hadn’t asked for. I don’t know how I made the list, but I am glad I did. I loved this book!
Melody Bittersweet (and her whole family, actually) sees ghosts. Not only does she see them, but she speaks with them, crushes on one of them and solves a 100 year old murder mystery for them. She manages her own ghost busting agency, her charming ex and her sexy as hell rival. Not bad for a day’s work and to top it off she has her best friend, her coming into his own employee and her pain in the rear dog with her for the ride.
This book has it all. It’s a rom-com, a mystery and a tear jerker rolled into one and I am so, so glad that this is only the first in a series. However it was that I was lucky enough to be asked to read this book in advance, I am terribly glad that I did. I will be waiting anxiously for the next installment in the series. Thank you so much!

I'm a fan of Josie Silver, but this one wasn't my cup of tea.
Thank you, NetGalley and publisher for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Melody Bittersweet comes from a long line of ghost-sensitive women, but unlike other members of her family, she wants to help them crossover. Her first case for the Girls’ Ghostbusting Agency, her new business venture, is an old house inhabited by the ghosts of the Scarborough brothers.
To make them leave the house, she will have to help them solve a murder. Unfortunately, her ex-boyfriend (and current rival) arrives at the house with a camera crew, and a handsome local reporter covering the case wants nothing more than to discredit Melody. A love triangle and ghosts? Count me in.
Why Kirsten loves it
This story is a reprint of a book written under Josie Silver’s pen name, Kitty French. The writing is clearly from her early days as an author, but you can see the Josie we know and love within the pages. It was a cute paranormal story that would be perfect to read around Halloween! The book embraces the scooby doo vibes with a vintage band, colorful assistants, and funny antics. Gifted by Ballantine.

I always get excited to see that Josie wrote another book and this one did not disappoint! Plus it will be the most perfect book to read as we go into the autumn season! The title says it all and I loved it!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Crazy Spooky Love, the title says it all. I would describe this cozy mystery as Ghostbusters meets Scooby Doo, including the Mystery Machine van.
Melody, who sees ghosts, it's a family thing, decides to start her own ghost banishing business instead of going into the family medium business. All the characters were a delight, from Melody's grandmother, her best friend, and her newly hired employee. Their first gig is to banish three ghosts, who are brothers, so the owner can sell the house, but before the ghosts will leave Melody needs to figure out who killed one of them.
If you're looking for a fun read I highly recommend this book.
I received this advance review copy from NetGalley & the publisher for my honest review.

How much do I love Josie Silver books? A lot! And this one is no exception. So fun and entertaining. This one had an element of silliness to it, so it was more of an amusing book than some of her others. It was such a pleasure to read.
Combine murder mystery, ghosts, crazy eccentric characters, some enemies to lovers romance and you get Crazy Spooky Love. Totally recommend for a fun read. Can’t wait to read more of Melody’s adventures in the next book!
Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.

Crazy Spooky Love by Josie Silver is a charming and witty start to the Melody Bittersweet series, blending paranormal mystery with a delightfully complicated love triangle. Set in the quaint town of Chapelwick, the novel introduces Melody Bittersweet, a plucky medium who defies her family’s tradition by not only communicating with ghosts but also helping to send them on their way. Silver’s signature warmth and humor shine through in this story, where romance and supernatural intrigue collide.
The dynamic between Melody, her fame-chasing ex Leo Dark, and the infuriatingly handsome skeptic reporter Fletcher Gunn creates plenty of tension and laughs. Silver skillfully balances the ghostly mystery involving the troublesome Scarborough brothers with the evolving emotional stakes, crafting a narrative that is both heartwarming and suspenseful. This fresh, engaging series will appeal to readers who love romantic comedies with a paranormal twist.

Crazy Spooky Love is a fun mystery starring Melody, a medium who strikes out on her own "ghost busting" business with her best friend Marina and their assistant, Artie. Their first case is to help three brothers move on to the afterlife by solving the case of who murdered the youngest, Douglas. Melody's ex, who is also a medium, is on the case as well, and her journalist enemy, Fletch, keeps dropping in.
The story was quick-paced and had lots of great moments between all of the characters, especially the ghosts! Each character has entertaining qualities to contribute to the story, but Marina was my favorite by far.
The mystery aspect was predictable, but I didn't mind since so many plots were going on simultaneously. This story has a bit of romance, mystery, and comedy!
I look forward to seeing where Melody's business takes the team! I am team Fletch all the way, but I am also intrigued to see how Leo is involved in future books.
Thank you to Netgalley and Ballantine for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was not for me, the writing was horrible and most of the characters were insufferable including the main character which makes it hard to get involve in a series

This one has a bunch of quirky hijinks, family drama, character growth, and obvious solutions. It also has a lot of ghosts and ghosty personalities, complete with hilarious exchanges between the dead and living alike. Melody and Marina are fun enough to follow around, and I think their friendship and dynamic in particular was my favorite part of this one- Marina especially had Lula Janet Evanovich vibes, which I am always here for for nostalgia sake. On the cons side of things, some spots simply tried way too hard and came across for a younger audience. While the premise is intriguing, the love triangle concept unfortunately fell flat for me as one of these options was clearly so much better than the other. I am pretty certain in the proper context, I'd have enjoyed this one a bit more- such as reading it for Halloween, or at the beginning of a particularly brisk fall. It really was cute, and will be loved in the right audience no doubt. Thanks so much to the author and Ballantine for the eARC! #crazyspookylove #josiesilver #ballantine #netgalley

Cozy mystery involving ghosts and a romance thrown in (not with ghosts). This was a cute read slow to get into but was enjoyable won't necessarily be one that stays with me but worth the read. I want to thank NetGalley and Ballantine for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
