I really loved the premise of this and felt like it would scratch my fall itch. I just really couldn’t get into in and had to DNF at 25%. The characters felt one dimensional to me. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Get in the van gals, we’re going ghostbusting!
Melody the medium is going into the ghostbuster business. She’s got the team, she’s got the know-how, but she’s also got an ex-boyfriend rival and a flirtatious reporter trying to discredit her… and that’s before we get to the ghost problem. Pour yourself a teacup of champagne, settle in, and get ready to laugh your socks off!
I’ve enjoyed Josie Silver’s books previously (and I adored ‘One Night on The Island’) but I was a little wary about the departure from her usual romances, but this was an unexpected delight! It’s not the paranormal romance I thought, more of a paranormal mystery with a romance -even better, in my opinion. Regarding the paranormal, it doesn’t read as scary, the ghosts read as any other character, without being too cheesy.
What did I love the most? The same things you find in any Josie Silver book. A vivid, rooted location, and a loveable rabble of community to root the characters in. It’s so witty, and British, and just brilliant.
I had so much fun reading this one, I can’t wait to read the sequel.
I will say, I think it’s hard to describe this book in a way that does it justice, but if you’re looking for a fun read, that fits an October mood -this is the one to pick up!
Thank you to Ballantine - Random House Publishing Group and NetGalley for the complimentary e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

Crazy Spooky Love by Josie Silver was such a fun read! The pacing was just right, and I really enjoyed Silver’s writing style, which was easy to fall into and super engaging.
This felt like more of a cozy mystery with a dash of romance rather than a straight-up love story, and I was totally here for it. The spooky vibe was charming (not scary) and made for the perfect cozy, atmospheric read.
If you're into light mysteries with some heart and a bit of a supernatural twist and humor, this one’s worth picking up.
Thanks to NetGalley, Josie Silver, and Ballantine | Dell for the ARC. I had a great time with this one!

I love Josie Silver, her emotional depth and previous works have always been such an engaging read. I really was excited to see this new step into the paranormal romance genre and honestly didn’t disappoint! We follow Melody, a quirky medium who is trying to set up shop in her kooky hometown while dealing with some annoying people getting in her way. She gave us a really fun, mysterious read that fits the vibes so heavy for fall lovers. You are going to get a fun mystery, a witchy FMC who has hilarious banter and a love story/triangle that adds a fun element that will warm up readers for a fun spooky read this fall

I liked a lot of things about this book. The main character is relatable and driven to start her own business. Her new assistant, Arthur, really blooms and I want to continue to see him grow in the next book. The ghosts are fully rounded out characters and the spice level is great.
There were a few things that felt underdeveloped. She sort of flirts with one of the ghosts, but I didn't realize until much later that it was meant to be more serious. Or maybe it wasn't and the goodbye was just written awkwardly? The mystery wasn't very mysterious, so the "big reveal" wasn't as cathartic as it could've been.
All things considered, it was a pleasant read, and short enough that I want to commit to reading the sequel to see where it goes.

This book is the perfect kind for a cozy, cold fall day. I really liked the setup and introduction to Melody and her family. Melody and her family are able to see ghosts. She decides to take fate in her own hands, and with the help of her bff, she opens an agency to help spirits cross over. This is a murder mystery, and we focus on the Scarborough brothers. We get a taste of romance and tension between Melody and another character.
Overall, this was an easy read, and I enjoyed it!
The reason for not being a 5 star read is because the 'whodunit' suspect was obvious to me. The bulk of the story feels like it happens at 65% of the book and is rushed.

First Thank You Net Galley and the publishers for letting me read this book.
What is there not to love about ghost hunting, slow burn romance , mystery and taking control of your own life?? This story was so much fun to read and I did laugh out loud a bit.
I do wish there were recipes included for Nonna’s cookies..( I love food)!

This was such a fun and refreshing read. I really enjoyed the mix of romance, mystery, and ghostly mayhem. Melody is a lovable and slightly chaotic main character, and I liked how determined she was to make her own way, even with all the chaos around her. The Bittersweet family is full of personality, and the setting of Chapelwick feels warm and quirky in the best way.
The love triangle kept me hooked. Leo, her attention-hungry ex, is both annoying and charming, while Fletcher, the skeptical reporter, had this grumpy appeal that slowly won me over. The tension between him and Melody was one of my favorite parts of the book.
The ghost mystery was engaging too. The Scarborough brothers were a mix of funny and tragic, and I liked how their story unraveled. At times the plot felt a little crowded, but overall it kept a good pace and held my interest all the way through.
If you like lighthearted paranormal stories with strong characters and a romantic spark, this is definitely worth picking up. I’m excited to see where the series goes next.

I love Josie Silver books and when I saw the subject of this one: a ghostbusting agency? I knew I had to read it. There was a lot of different storylines in this book. 1. Melody's mom and Gran can also see ghosts and they are characters within themselves! We really could have spent the whole book just on the Gran's antics. 2. The Scarborough Ghosts and their whole sorted mystery, 3. The not-so-love-triangle with Leo Dark, Melody's ex boyfriend who can also see ghosts (I would love to know how many people in this world can actually see ghosts and how does it happen - is it a family thing?) and also the local reporter who does not believe in ghosts, Fletcher Gunn. The book is jammed packed with plot although it seems that nothing really happens until the end of the book. Somewhere in the middle of the book Melody adopts a dog and we spend maybe too much time about reading about the dog that doesn't really add to the plot at all. It also feels like there are so many loose ends - what happens with Fletcher Gunn? Why did Leo help Melody in the end? Those sinister twins? I need to know what they are plotting next! I am super excited to see how the story progresses in the next book in the series! Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

I like Silver. I have yet to be skunked by one of her books. But I went into this one with a whole lotta scepticism based on the plot. There are just too many romances with psychics and magic, and I have yet to land on one that really spoke to me. I should have trusted Silver to land the book that I needed in this crossover genre. The characters were interesting. The plot moved along at a decent pace. The mystery was there but not overly complicated so as to detract from the characters. And there is romance, albeit there may be a bit of a triangle happening. What I loved most about this was how quirky everyone is and yet how normal they are at the same time. Sure, Melody and her family see and communicate with ghosts. But ultimately, the book is about the people and their connections. Melody is truly a kind soul and despite bumbling, she has all of the best intentions and is trying to do the best by the ghosts and her family, even as she figures out her own priorities.
If you like Silver, this is one to pick up. It may have bumped some of the more traditional books by her down my top list. If you like a good series with romance, mystery and ghosts, also a good pick. And if you are just interested in reading about some quirky folks who mostly get along, also something to pick up.
Can't wait for book 2!

You had me at paranormal romcom and this cover 🫶🏻 perfection!
This book is a easy fun time with a paranormal twist as the main character can see ghost. 👻 (always a good time) lots of banter and a super unique romance at its core. Highly recommend.

This was very cute. I believe I've read all of Josie Silver's romances and enjoyed them - this was similar but with a magical twist, and I thought it was well incorporated and quirky. The storyline was interesting, the world and rules she built made sense within the context, and the characters all had a purpose, personality, and history. I thought it was well done and a fun, palate-cleanser, quick read. I will definitely be on the lookout for other books in the series to come.

Fun, quirky, and full of ghostly charm! Melody Bittersweet is a hilarious hot mess of a heroine, and her adventures as a paranormal PI had me laughing out loud. The mystery was light but entertaining, and the love triangle added just enough swoon and sass to keep things interesting. If you love cozy mysteries with a supernatural twist and lots of personality, this one’s for you!

I absolutely loved this!!! It is the perfect read for spooky season or summerween. I've been a fan of this author since her very first novel.

I received a complimentary copy of this book "Crazy Spooky Love" and all opinions expressed are my own. I try to read any books I can by Josie Silver. She is one of my go to authors. This definitely was a fun book and I love books about ghosts. Magical realism is my favorite! Can't wait for more...

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy of Crazy Spooky Love by Josie Silver.
Melody Bittersweet and her family can see and talk to ghost. She decides to open her own ghostbuster form against her ex boyfriend Leo.
They are both hired to try to get rid of ghosts at a mansion but there is more to why the ghosts are still there.
This was a cute and fun story to read.

This book was super cute! Book is funny, heart tugging, and has enough hauntings to give a reader a great experience. Reading this book was one that I was very excited to read. Would love to see what more comes from the author

Absolutely delicious in every sense of the word! I could not get enough of this ghostbusting trio (and Fletch!)! Fingers crossed this is just book #1 of The Girls' (plus Artie!) Ghostbusting Agency on Chapelwick High Street series. Well done, Josie Silver!! An easy 5 stars from me!!

This was a fun and quirky read. I wasn’t a fan of the love triangle, but that’s just a personal preference. I stayed for the mystery.
Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine | Dell for this book. ~I was given this book and made no commitments to leave my opinions, favorable or otherwise~

Thank you to NetGalley and Dell books for the ARC!
I think this would be a perfect read for October! I love the setting and it was fun ghosting hunting with the Bittersweets!
