Just finished listening to the book, Roller Coaster Romance. This book was released in 2019 but the audio is about to be released on June 17th, and I was chosen to receive an arc of the audio. This was about Vanessa, who gets a management job at Destiny Park. As she gets to know her new job and employees, she finds out a bunch of the employees don't like the working conditions they are in, things are unsafe and some of the employees are doing something about it. Her boss wants to keep things the way they are, rather than spend money on safety and better working conditions. So he puts Vanessa right in the middle of all of this and tells her to take care of it. Now she is stuck between listening to her boss to keep her job and doing what is right for her employees. The romance part of this story was minimal but it was still sweet. This had a deeper storyline and hit some hard workplace topics about unsafe working environments, greedy bosses, and doing what's right even when there's a risk. Overall this was a quick, fun book I enjoyed listening to! 🩷📚
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this audio ARC of Roller Coaster Romance, in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute and very easy read! Loved the aspect of the amusement park and the "Disney" of it all. Great beach/ summer read!

I listened to the audiobook that was provided by Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op. This was fun short read. Vanessa lands her dream job as a manager at a Big named theme park in Florida. What she doesn't know is that she will be thrown into a literal storm. Some of the employees are trying to organize a union. They just want a fair and safe working environment. Mr. Destiny (the theme park owner) is not such a great guy of course and a little corrupt. Vanessa has to figure out a way to protect her employees and keep her job. Tom is the head of the organizers and of course is falling for Vanessa. This is a dual POV and sometimes it gets a little confusing while listening to the audio because they switch POV's multiple times in a chapter. Besides that overall the book was a fun read. The narrator was easy to listen to and portrayed the characters so well. I wish it would of been a little longer to play out the end a little more.

The cover drew me in and the synopsis really made me think I would love this one with it's promise of quirky characters and the fun amusement park setting but in the end it was a bit of a let down. The author spent a lot of the book on the effort to unionize the park's employees which left little time for the romance between Vanessa and Thomas. The whole part where Thomas was working for Vanessa also kept much from actually being said until the very end and it seemed a little forced by that point. Most of the other characters felt flat and stereotypical and I just wish some more time was put into them that Bob that likes to eat yogurt or Dirk the Jerk who is always sneaking around and being nosy for upper management. In the end, it felt like the union's success was the HEA instead of the one we were supposed to be rooting for between Vanessa and Thomas.
I listened to the audio book version of this book and enjoyed the narrator and production. It was pleasant to listen to.

Roller Coaster Romance is a quick, sweet read set in the whimsical world of Destiny Parks—specifically its Legacy section, which had me itching to hop on a roller coaster myself!
I really liked Vaness's character and the internal conflict she faces: balancing her dream job with being pressured to spy on her coworkers as management tries to stop a union effort. It’s a compelling angle that adds depth to a light romance.
While the story was charming and the theme park setting super fun, the book felt too short to allow for meaningful character development. That said, the audiobook was well-narrated and kept me entertained from start to finish.
Perfect if you’re in the mood for a bite-sized romance with a unique backdrop!

What a beautifully written, deeply emotional, extremely hilarious and utterly heartwarming rom-com that kept me grinning, cackling, swooning and shedding a few tears along the way.

as a former theme park worker, i fully related to this book. while the title might be a little misleading since the romance doesn't really happen until the last 5 minutes of the book. if this book was a full length instead of a novella, i feel like the romance could have been more flushed out.

Summary:
Set in a bustling theme park, this romantic comedy brings us behind the scenes of park staff navigating love, life, and workplace drama. With unionizing efforts underway and a summer full of rides, mishaps, and unexpected emotions, the story attempts to blend lighthearted romance with deeper themes.
My Thoughts:
The concept had so much potential and the narrator did a fantastic job bringing it to life! I loved the unique theme park setting and the behind-the-scenes look at management and staff. Unionizing as a theme was super intriguing and different. But the story felt rushed, and I struggled to connect with the characters. There was so much happening, but not enough time to feel it. I wanted to love it, but in the end, it just wasn’t for me.

I’m a big Disney parks fan, so as soon as I saw this cute cover I knew I had to read this book! It was a lot more than the cute romance I expected, with the main plot being theme park employees wanting to start a union & ownership trying to stop it.
Being manager at Destiny Park is Vanessa’s dream job, but she isn’t on the owner’s side in this fight. At the same time, she and Thomas, one of the long time theme park employees & union leader, are starting to have feelings for each other.
I enjoyed this short book & the audio narration was great! As a theme parks fan, I really liked how descriptive all areas and other aspects of the parks was, too.
Thank you to Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, Fortunella Press and NetGalley for providing the ARC for my honest review!

Ok hear me out but we need a full length novel with Vanessa & Thomas running their own theme park - I think they'd make one heck of a formidable management team!
This was so very sweet and slice of life, loved the concept. Very Disney (parks) coded if we saw the employee side with unions, nefarious bosses/CEOs and slightly crap working conditions.
Vanessa was a firecracker and after realising she was hired for a specific purpose she made the best of the situation and really made an effort to integrate herself into the team and get to know the rest of the park employees. Her and Thomas made quite a sassy, intelligent and empathetic pairing - they both wanted the best for their coworkers and took measures to make it happen.
Angelina Rocca's narration was on point and I'll be keeping an eye out for more audiobooks narrated by her, so engaging!
Thank you to NetGaelly, the publisher and author for this intriguing and fun ALC!

This story was alright. Set at a theme park that had strong vibes of another very famous theme park with four lands. The main downside was it was rather short. I had the audio book version and it was around half of a standard audio book. Indeed it felt like the story had just got going and the author decided that was enough and brought it to a sharp end. Until that point the story had been ok. The audio was clear and easy to listen to.

3/5 stars. Roller Coaster Romance drew me to it because my family is big into theme parks. I thought it would be the perfect fit. The story was a quick read. Vanessa takes a management role at Destiny Park at the same time that workers are starting to unionize the employees. I liked how she struggled with her feelings being torn between trying to be professional in her new role and wanting to help the employees feel heard. The story had a lot of potential but felt a bit rushed. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a palate cleanser between heavier books. The narrator of the audiobook did a great job with bringing the story to life.

This was a cute, fast little book. However, I think it is falsely advertised as a Romance. Really, it's more of a workplace union story, with a side of romance.
Overall, the story reminded me a lot of The Pajama Game (one of my favorite Doris Day musicals), but this time the lady is the boss, it takes place at a Disney-style theme park, and there's no singing.
I really enjoyed the union story, and like that this book is getting an audiobook release now, in 2025, while unions are under attack. It honestly gives a fairly basic but relatable breakdown of how unions protect employees from corporate greed and oversight. I just wish the Romance side of the story had taken centerstage a bit more. I didn't fully buy the chemistry between the main characters. Perhaps if they'd spent more time together talking on the page, I would have seen the spark more.
The audiobook narrator, Angelina Rocca, did a good job here. A very solid vocal performance with distinct voices for each character.
Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing/Fortunella Press for access to this audiobook ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was my first Kate ALC and it was so hilarious and cute I definitely love these two characters together! 10/10 would re-listen

Roller coaster romance is more roller coaster than romance.
This ride is a slow slow sloooooow burn if I have ever read one. But it doesn’t diminish the plot of the story
Vanessa is a new manager at an amusement park down in Florida. Where she meets an array of park workers including Thomas. As weeks go Vanessa realized she got the job as it was one No one would want. She became a manager as the staff were trying to unionize.
As she faces a moral compass of sticking with a company she knows she needs a job with, or a staff she has grown to want to protect. She also begins to fall for the team manger. Thomas, also the leader of the unionization.
I love the pull and push this diversity between boss and employee created with the tension of the union in the middle. Keeping you as a reader in the edge of your seat.
Every second keeps you guessing… How will Vanessa and Thomas prevail as moral clash?

I was immediately drawn to the cover and title of the book during a Sunday evening scrolling session - what can I say, I am girl that likes the color pink and an amusement park. Felt so appreciative to have received this as an Audio ARC and was really looking forward to listening to the story and did enjoy myself. I think in the end, things just fell a bit flat for me.
Vanessa was greatly written FMC and honestly, the perfect supervisor, and she took her time to really get to know the people she was in charge of. I think the author did a great job of providing details to how the company runs and who was involved but there might have been too much time spent doing that. Because ultimately, I felt like there was so much detail but not about anything that truly mattered? This story was promoted as a romance but I felt like the true romance was the employees trying to form a union - not anything between Vanessa and Thomas. I was honestly confused when listening because anytime they were together or the plot was trying to move them in a more romantic way....it was very flat.
I did receive the Audio ARC and I did struggle with the narrator used for this specific story. She didn't really sell the story or characters and seemed very sterile while reading. So I found this difficult to listen to because it wasn't helping telling the story, I think it ultimately hurt what was being sold to the listener.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Kate Moseman for this Audio ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was more a workplace novella than a romance novella. For me not enough focus was on their relationship as it was on the whole workplace intricacies.
I did think some very important worker’s rights and issues were highlighted so overall the book was good just not exactly what the book is marketed as.
Angelina Rocca narrated well.
Thank you NetGalley, Kate Moseman, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and Fortunella Press for giving me an advance listener’s copy of this book!

From the cover I thought this was going to be a Disney theme park type romance but it was so much more than that. I actually enjoyed the union workers rights and how the park workers were fighting back. As a child of a Union Carpenter and Fiance of a Union Laborer, their rights and quality of life is important to me. I did enjoy that the main character a female was the one going for management. It was a quick read and the narrator was good.
Thank you NetGalley and Audio ARC Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and Fortunella Press for the ALC audiobook. All opinions are my own.

Cute novella. I enjoyed the parallels to the real theme parks in Florida, and it was a fun peek behind the curtain.

Roller Coaster Romance is a coworkers-to-lovers relationship where the FMC gets a job as a manager of a theme park land and gets close to the man who trained her in the attractions. This was a quick and easy read with minimal details and an easy-to-follow storyline. While the FMC was learning the quirks and responsibilities of her new job, there was a side plot of the workers joining together to unionize. Typically, I find side plots like the development of this union uninteresting, but I found it more interesting and detailed than the romance. While the two MCs had some sweet moments, I never felt I NEEDED them to get together since it wasn't super established.
Overall, the writing was easy to follow for the most part. A couple of times while listening to the audiobook, I was confused due to frequent shifts in POV, but that is probably clearer in the written book.
I would really enjoy seeing this writer's development through more installments in this world, perhaps with the piano-playing intern.
