Magic, romance and friendship! This author is the best at writing uplifting cosy feel good stories, absolutely adored this but knew I would I was a huge fan of the first book, a light hearted read which provides the perfect magical escape!

Annie Wildwood thinks she needs to be perfect to make up for her parent's poor choices. She exhausts herself doing everything right and pleasing everyone. Life changes when Annie is tasked with mentoring Maeve, a young witch who is not interested in pleasing anyone! Both Maeve and Annie learn and grow from each other. A wonderful read, filled with magic, friendship, and romance. Highly recommend!

This book was a fun read. I loved the pink, girlish vibe and it reminded me of Mary Poppins. Annie Wildwood is a witch and her life is practically perfect until it is isn't. Highly recommend!

2.5 stars - I unfortunately didn't connect with this story or these characters very much. I liked the premise and idea of the book, but my favorite character far and away was Maeve and I don't think we really got to spend enough time with her. I can appreciate what Annie is going through with her friends and there were times where I was very empathetic towards her, but the repetitiveness and minimal plot was difficult to get through. Additionally, we never get to see why Annie and Hal are drawn to each other and start to like one another. If you're looking for a romance, that is not this book - it's like a sub-sub plot.

It was also very confusing that the "bad guy" from the first book was featured so much in this story. It's not clear from a timeline perspective if the events in Uncharmed come before or after Rewitched, but it was really jarring to see this person in this book.

Overall, while this one wasn't for me, if you love a slower cosy fantasy - this would fit the bill. Thank you to Berkley Romance for the eARC - all opinions are my own.

Uncharmed is the first pumpkin spice latte of the season in book form; long-awaited coziness and comfort.

Annie Wildwood is a bakery-owning witch who very much believes in keeping her life within the parameters of her type-A personality; that is to say, as perfect as can be. When she's tasked with apprenticing new witch Maeve, she begins to realize that perfection might not be so great after all.

The first line of the book had me right away, talking about the power of a tasty treat in such a way that I felt like it was a friend talking to me.

The book is filled with so much heart that you'll find yourself invested in the lives of these characters as if they're people you encounter in your daily life. As a lifelong fan of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, this book speaks to my millennial witchiness-loving soul with the strong character development of Annie, Maeve, and Hal.

Throw in a scheming secret society, and Uncharmed will firmly find a place in your heart.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group I Ace for the opportunity to read this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

Very cozy, very slow, very full of sweet baked goods. I just didn't feel invested in the story and, weirdly, the prose is dense for how simple the plot is. Thanks to the publisher for the opportunity to read.

This makes a nice bedtime book. And in the fantasy world of witches, it was refreshingly from the older witch's point of view rather than a Young Adult and flimsy story.

I picked this up from NetGalley and am grateful for that. However, I now realize that there are two books in this series, and this is the second one. And I wish I had read it in Audiobook form. So I may reread the book after listening to Book 1. I think it will be more fun in audio form rather than text-to-speech.

Audio, Kindle, or paper, I think this is a fun read that will keep you enchanted for hours.

Lucy Jane Wood writes such charmingly cozy fare! I adored Rewitched and if you did as well you will love this follow-up! Filled with such resonate messages of resilience and growth. I feel like, with this book, Wood has proven herself to be the new cozy author to watch!

Uncharmed by Lucy Jane Wood is a fun follow up to Rewitched. I enjoyed the Elle Woods vibes and the slightly more romantic storyline. A very light and cozy witchy book.

Uncharmed by Lucy Jane Wood is the perfect book to curl up with on a rainy afternoon, wrapped in a blanket with a warm drink in hand. This enchanting and beautifully written story weaves a gentle blend of emotional growth, cozy witchy vibes, and the magic of self-acceptance.

The heart of this novel lies in its protagonist, Annie Wildwood, a kind-hearted, perfection-driven witch whose carefully curated life begins to unravel in the most satisfying way. As she takes on the task of mentoring Maeve, a rebellious young witch with immense but untapped power, Annie is forced to confront the cracks in her own life. Annie’s emotional journey to loosening the grip of perfectionism and learning to set boundaries felt both relatable and deeply moving. The gradual shift in Annie’s character was incredibly well done, and I found myself rooting for her every step of the way.

Maeve, the chaotic yet vulnerable teen witch, is an instant favourite. Her transformation alongside Annie makes for a captivating dynamic. The found family aspect of this story is done with such care, and I adored how the characters slowly bonded. Annie, Maeve, and the gruff but kind Hal. Though Hal's romance with Annie doesn’t dominate the story (they don’t meet until halfway through), their slow-burn connection felt natural and fitting to the overall narrative.

Lucy Jane Wood’s writing is warm and inviting, creating a world brimming with witchy charm, from enchanted baking to woodland cottages. The atmosphere is cozy and magical, with just the right amount of light-heartedness mixed with emotional depth. The book isn't an action-packed fantasy, but rather a tender exploration of relationships, personal growth, and the beauty found in imperfection.

Uncharmed is a perfect escape, offering a blend of emotional growth, magic, and a delightful mix of characters that stick with you long after you’ve turned the last page. If you’re looking for a heartwarming, magical read that celebrates found family and the importance of accepting yourself, this book is a must-read. Lucy Jane Wood has truly crafted a world I can't wait to return to.

An utterly charming, cozy tale of self-discovery, connection, and magic. Uncharmed is a five-star gem!
