I am not a romance girlie much but I loved this. I loved the rivals to lovers aspect, the semi slow burn, the spice. I loved the end. There is so much more but I don’t want to give away too much.
Definitely a fun read.

Enemies to lovers
Forced proximity
Workplace romance
Overall this was not a bad book. It was OK and I think it had the potential to be more but for me personally the enemies to lovers was dragging on a little too much and started to feel repetitive.
My favorite part of the story was honestly when Trish stood up for herself and her career!
I listened to this on audio and my ears were very happy with the female narration! Not a single complaint- 5/5 for narration! 🎧
Thank you Netgalley for this ALC in exchange for my

This was my first Nisha J. Tuli book, and I loved it!
Pub Date: 5/20/25
The story follows Trishara, who works in a male-dominated field. There is definitely some he-man-woman haters’ club vibe in the office. Starting with her rival, the boss’s son, Rafe. Well, naturally, they get picked for a company-wide building team retreat… at a tropical resort… 🤭 but things and people aren’t what Trishara thought they were.
I enjoyed the tension between the two characters. I enjoyed their story. I enjoyed the spice. Soneela Nankani was fantastic as a narrator! She conveyed all the emotions! Highly recommend!
Thank you, Nisha J. Tuli, Hachette Audio, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the audiobook!

Where can I sign up for more? I loved this audiobook. I love a good quasi enemies to lovers trope full of sassy banter. Add in a bit of main character badassery and I was sold! a great beach or pool side read/listen!

RAFE MF GALLAGHER EVERYONE O M G!!!!!
Absolute 5 star banger right here, I devoured the crap out of this audiobook. I loved everything about these Trish and Rafe but then again, who doesn't love a good workplace rivals to lovers romance???
One of my favorite things was seeing the chronic pain rep in Trishara with her chronic migraines. As someone that experiences migraines, the way Nisha describes the onset migraines hitting Trish were so relatable I almost felt the pain throughout the book.
The narrator did a really good job with this audiobook, the way she told this story really helped me capture all the moments, big and small, and made me want to never press the pause button.
Thank you again Forever for the alc I had an amazing time 🫶🏼

This was such a fun, chaotic ride! Tris and Rafe’s “hate” felt a little forced (girl, you’re definitely noticing his abs too much for enemies), and some parts were a bit immature but honestly, I didn’t even mind. The Hawaii setting, the banter, and the ridiculous honeymoon suite mixup kept me laughing and fully entertained. Perfect if you want a romcom with swoony vibes and a little bit of chaos!
Thank you netgalley for the arc💗

I was thrilled to receive the audiobook for Not Safe for Work by Nisha J. Tuli, my first experience with the author’s work. The premise—an office enemies-to-lovers story with forced proximity—immediately drew me in. The novel delivers cute, heartfelt moments while thoughtfully exploring challenges women face in male-dominated corporate environments.
Trishara and Rafe, rival colleagues, are thrust together on a corporate leadership retreat in Hawaii. Trishara resents Rafe, viewing him as a privileged “nepo-baby” who coasted into a role she feels she earned through hard work. However, as circumstances force them to collaborate, their dynamic shifts. Through teamwork and unexpected vulnerability, Trishara begins to see Rafe in a new light—one that complicates her initial disdain.
While I enjoyed their banter and the tropical romantic backdrop, the insta-lust trope felt rushed. That said, their chemistry evolves convincingly, balancing tension with tender growth. The story’s strength lies in its relatable portrayal of workplace sexism and ambition, making Trishara’s struggles resonate deeply.
The audiobook narration enhanced the experience, bringing the characters’ wit and emotions to life. Fans of workplace romances with forced proximity, tropical settings, and nuanced commentary on gender dynamics will appreciate this breezy yet meaningful read. Despite minor pacing quibbles, Not Safe for Work is a charming escape with substance—perfect for a weekend listen.

Not Safe for Work is a standalone rivals to lovers workplace romance by BIPOC author Nisha J. Tuli. This book releases May 25th.
Being a woman of color in the engineering world is not for the faint of heart. This is a lesson Trishara Malik has learned the hard way. After a prior workplace romance gone bad, and years of being overlooked for promotions, Tris was at the end of her rope, until she was picked to attend a 3-week long leadership retreat in Hawaii. The only catch…her work rival and the boss’s son, Rafe Gallagher would be going with her.
But the hotel was huge and the training would have people attending from around the country. Surely she wouldn’t have to spend much time with him, outside of mandatory work functions, right? Unfortunately, the universe had other plans, when they arrived at the hotel and due to a booking error and a busy travel season, Tris and Rafe would be forced to share a room. And not just any room…the Honeymoon Suite!
When you read Not Safe for Work, you can expect:
- New Adult/Contemporary romance
- Workplace romance
- Enemies to lovers
- Feminine rage
- Forced proximity
- One bed
- Slow burn
- Misogyny and sexual harassment
- Women in STEM
First let me just say, Tris is my role model! After years of “playing the game” in corporate America, girlfriend has had ENOUGH! She stands up to anyone/everyone. She speaks her mind and doesn’t hold back, especially when she feels that she or someone else has been wronged. Plus, she is a badass STEM goddess and hot to boot. I want to be her when I grow up.
Second, could Rafe be more swoon-worthy? He is tall, and buff, he wears a suit, and the man can BAKE!
Be prepare that this one is a sloooooow burn, but once that spice starts to hit, it is HOT. The banter was also top notch. The MMC has smirks for days. ;-)
And I would be remiss if I didn’t commend Soneela Nankani for her amazing narration. If you listened to the audiobooks for Trial of the Sun Queen, you’ll recognize Soneela’s voice. And not only is the author and the FMC BIPOC, but so is the narrator! This was perfect, as the voice matched Tris’s character and added authenticity to the performance. Also, Soneela is another female narrator whose MMC voice is pure fire!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Nisha J. Tuli for the opportunity to listen and review this advanced listener copy!

I started this book after work and physically could not put it down until I finished it.
🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tris is an engineer struggling to compete in a male dominated career field, and she believes her nemesis is just like the rest of them. When Rafe, her boss’s annoyingly hot son, is selected to attend the company’s first leadership retreat, no one is surprised. What is surprising though is that Tris is selected too, and three weeks in Hawaii with Rafe?? 👏🏻👏🏻
Tris’s inner monoglot is throughout this book is HILARIOUS, I was genuinely laughing out loud 😂 The obsession this girl has with Rafe is next level! Nisha does an incredible job of showing how women are treated in corporate America, and even more so in the STEM world. Sadly, some of the things she included have actually happened to me in real life and MANY it made this book so relatable! I DEVOURED this book, I was lucky enough to receive an ALC, and Soneela Nankani did an incredible job narrating. The emotion she brings to these characters brought the story to life, it was so easy to listen to. I highly recommend this book, it releases May 20th and it’s got some top tier tropes:
🌴 One bed!!!!
🌴 Forced proximity
🌴 Rivals to lovers

ARC REVIEW:
this was cute but some of the back and forth with the MC’s felt like whiplash with the push and pull. One second they were whispering wants and then the next it was like a toddler having a tantrum. I did like the MMC a lot but I would have liked more character development from him - seemed like he was just very flat even tho he had this secret influencer life on the side while also being a full blown engineer. The spice was good tho!

i love a man who yearns so openly and a woman clueless to it all.
absolutely loved being able to get to listen to this audio. trish and rafe are sugar, spice and everything nice. a perfect dive into workplace romance with heat, yearning, and romance with a beautifully delicious slow burn between these two characters.

I really enjoyed this workplace romance. I found it to be cozy, sweet, witty, and refreshingly honest. I LOVED the tension, banter, and Tuli-themed Easter eggs. Tuli is already a favorite author of mine and this further solidifies that. I throughly enjoyed this.
I do recommend this one as an audiobook. The audio narration was superbly executed. Characters were depicted so extremely well that the voice given to them pulled beyond the page. Seriously well done all around on this audiobook.
Thank you NetGalley, Nisha Tuli, Forever Pub, and Hachette Audio for an eARC and audiobook ARC of this witty and entertaining read! 🍰

This was d cute, easy enemies to lovers. I liked how lighthearted the book was; at times the characters could be immature but it was fun. The lightheartedness did take away from the deeper issues the author tried to touch on but she didn't add enough depth to those issues in my opinion.
Rafe was so sweet and supportive - I would have really loved to have had his POV.
The narrator was the perfect voice for this one and I'm definitely looking forward to finding more books narrated by her!
-Rivals to Lovers
-Workplace Romance
-Tropical Retreat
-One Bed

You know there was no way I would t want to read/ listen to this book. If it came from the great mind I’d Nisha J Tuli… I am SOLD being an avid reader of her romantasy series. However #NotSafeForWork is something different!
It’s a Romcom with a great nemesis to lovers arch that had me laughing so hard at time, and I lost tears as parts of it. Because as a woman of colour in the corporate world… I GOT IT!
Soneela Nankani’s voice brought Trish to life for me, her acting skills and the way her voice fit so perfectly is Chefs Kids! And not to forget to mention the amazing performance given by her!
The whole quality of the production of this audiobook is incredible, a full experience worth reading and listening to together!
Favourite Quote: “How was Margaret Thatcher the first name to pop in your head? Do I remind you of a dead white lady?”
Spicy Level - 🌶️🌶️

As a woman engineer, I was genuinely excited for Not Safe for Work. A romcom set in the corporate engineering world with a woman trying to break the glass ceiling? It felt like it could be so relatable. And on paper, the setup had everything I love: workplace tension, a tropical retreat, the “one bed” trope, and an enemies-to-lovers arc. But despite the potential, the execution just didn’t work for me.
I completed this via audiobook, and let me say—the narrator was fantastic. Truly, she brought the characters to life in the best way she could. But even the best performance couldn’t save this one from how painfully slow and frustrating the story was. Hawaii somehow felt bland, the “one bed” scenario dragged on without delivering any real tension or payoff, and the characters? Their behavior often felt more middle school than mid-career.
I pushed through, hoping it would turn around, but by the end, I just felt annoyed. There were so many opportunities to explore gender dynamics in the workplace or dive into real emotional growth, but the book leaned too heavily on tired tropes and shallow banter.
This could’ve been an empowering, fun read for women in STEM or anyone who's ever felt stuck in a corporate grind—but instead, it left me wishing I’d used those hours for something else.

A good "enemies" to lovers workplace romance! The audiobook performance was well done! I hope Nisha chooses to write more romcoms!

Trishara and Rafe’s story from workplace enemies to friends to lovers was so fun! The setting of the corporate retreat gave it a vacation vibe mixed with work, and I think that really added to the developing relationship on the page. Rafe was so sweet and had so many moments on the page where he stood up for or cared for Trishara with no questions asked, and seeing those from Trishara’s POV was truly the best. The ending was great and really tied everyone’s character arcs, and the relationship, together so well!
I’m usually not a big fan of single narrators in romance books, but Soneela did a fantastic job switching between voices for characters! The voice for Rafe was perfect in my opinion. She also enunciated clearly and didn’t have any extra sounds or breaths that detracted from listening. Absolutely would recommend listening to other books she narrates!

Not Safe For Work is a good romantic work rivals to lovers book that is definitely not safe for work. The spicy scenes are nice and spicy and not cringy. Overall this is a good read that kept me interested. 3.5 stars

Nisha J. Tuli does it again!!
She never fails to write amazing, deep and complex characters.
I loved the romcom vibes of this story but also the minority representation in so many ways. Not only did she add a layer of shaming the cis white man who gets everything handed to him with no accountability (not the main character), but she highlights women in men dominated fields and even deeper BiPOC women in white men dominated fields. I was rooting for Tris so hard and was thrilled to watch her stand up for herself in her field and say F the consequences!
The narrators brought the characters to life in an amazing way. The accent inflexions on an indian character were great. They truly did a wonderful performance to make me truly feel like I was hearing Tris and Rafe themselves!

This book was quite delightful! It’s an easy listen and was the perfect background for doing chores. The narrator did a great job and I am looking forward to reading this author’s Romantasy catalogue.
I didn’t like the instagram aspect, I’m realizing now that social media subplots in books are really pulling me out of the story.
I would have LOVED a dual POV for this book. I was craving some of Rafe’s down bad thoughts of Tishara.
