If you love workplace romances, if you read The Spanish Love Deception, and if you love forced proximity and rivals-to-lovers, this is the book for you. I absolutely adored this book, it was light but still touched on important subjects, and yes, it made me reconsider my place in the corporate world too. The romance itself was nothing short of perfect: the spice was hitting all the right places, the subtle and not-so-subtle moments were giving me all the giggles and squeakings, and god please can I have a guy like this? For real?

Overall a love story so good and definitely worth the hype!

I had so much fun listening to this one! In many ways, the feeling was similar to the one I had reading The Honeymooners by Christina Lauren (which I loved); maybe because of the setting, because of similar tropes, but independent of any of these, I had a great time.
The narration was great and kept me in the story, had me giggling and smiling throughout.

Tropes are ones I thoroughly enjoy: rivals to lovers, only one bed, slow burn etc., and the main characters make a hot couple; Tris, the FMC is smart and witty - I liked the representation (love that we get more women in STEM rep). Rafe, the MMC, on the other hand, he was protective and attentive, of course hot (there's a lot of talk about forearms 😂) but a bit underdeveloped as a character in my opinion (we get glimpses though).

It is one I'd like to re-read sometime so I went out and bought a physical copy ❤️
Perfect summer read!

Audio Narration 🎧 5/5

"Not Safe for Work" is a hilarious and charming enemies-to-lovers romance that truly shines! The beginning and ending are absolute perfection - the conclusion is expertly wrapped up, leaving me completely satisfied. I adore the strong female lead who fearlessly stands up for herself in the workplace. This book is a total mood-booster that'll kick your angst to the curb! My only critique is that the middle section could use some tightening up - some parts felt disjointed and didn't quite live up to the rest of the story's entertainment value.

🌴ALC Review | Not Safe for Work by Nisha J. Tuli 🌴

OMG—Trishara and Rafe have SO much chemistry. The tension, the banter, the competition. UGH. I am obsessed.

NSFW mixes real world issues, like sexism and prejudiced in the workplace, with a spicy romance between two competitive rivals with an insane sexual tension to lovers dynamic.

The main characters are so lovable and intriguing, the side characters are hilarious and add so much to the story, and who doesn't love a tropical vacation...I mean work leadership retreat.

This book made me laugh, gasp, and roll my eyes—the best trio of reactions for a romcom.

I read this as an audiobook, and the narrator does a fabulous job. Highly recommend.

Tropes:
✨Slow Burn
✨Rivals to Lovers
✨Work Place Romance
✨Forced Proximity
✨Only one airplane, hotel suite, and bed

✨Thank you, Hachette Audio | Forever and NetGalley, for this ALC! All thoughts are my own.✨

This book is for the Ali Hazelwood fans. Like her work, this book features a workplace romance featuring a woman in STEM. In this case, Trishara is an engineer. NSFW also features the rivals to lovers trope, except they’re not actually rivals because the man has secretly been in love with her the whole time. And of course, it’s full of sexual tension and steam.

Enjoyable light hearted read. Ideal summer read
Characters were well developed and I loved their witty banter. I also appreciated how, that e en though it's a rom-com, it touched on some deep and very relevant topics to women, particularly women of colour. Thank you Nisha

okay fine ✋🏻 I’m glad I tired again to read this because I ended up really liking it, BUT I did find the beginning really hard to get into mostly because the characters felt wildly immature at times.

I also managed to get over the use of A LOT of description (his eyes were like an autumn day with streaks of warm honey glaze (this is a dramatic retelling but you get it)). But I loved them. I love each of them. I loved them together. Also, 10/10 tropes. 👏🏻

The battles that Trish and other women faced in this book and face every day was so real, and it felt so empowering to watch Trish take that power back for her own happiness in the end, even if it cost her a job, she was able to pursue a place that wanted and valued her.

I stand by that this book is if Ali Hazelwood, the Hating Game, and the Unhoneymooners had a baby.

so appreciative of this arc; this audiobook was PERFECT for this story, the narrator did an amazing job capturing emotion and realness!!

Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Release date: May 20, 2025

Do you ever start a book and know immediately it’s going to be a fav? I was sent an audiobook ARC of this book ( thanks @hachetteaudio ). (This is after release date because I was sent it on 5/19)

The book - This book while spicy and fun, was so real. This book shows what women, specifically women in STEM go through in the workplace, specifically specifically BIPOC women in STEM.

BURN IT DOWN. The best email ever written. As someone who has made the lists, felt the pressure to stay quiet, I loved this book.

Tris and Rafe, great tension, great banter, great love. Amazing side characters too. One bed forever.

The narration - I was really drawn to the narrator and felt she really embodied the FMC.

This book was great. It took me right back to my own college days of being a female engineering student. The feeling of being overlooked and not heard. I loved the characters together and individually. Their own stories are relatable as was their developing relationship. (I would love to have had a few chapters with Rafe’s POV just to know his perspective more.)

This was my first book to read* from Nisha and I really enjoyed her writing style. I look forward to reading her fantasy series and hope she has more romance books in the future!!

*I listened to the audiobook and really liked the narrator, Soneela Nankani. She did a great job making me believe and feel the frustration of the FMC.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Forever Publishing and Hachette Audio for the ARC/ALC!!

🌴Not Safe For Work🌴

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (5 Stars)
Steam: 🌶️🌶️/5 (2-3 steamy scenes with description)

Narration: I love this narrator so it made the story so good.

No spoiler review 👇🏻

This was such a fun read! I really enjoyed it — the perfect light, steamy romance for summer and warm-weather days.

It features some of my favorite tropes: workplace rivals to lovers, a vacation getaway, slow burn, and the classic only one room. I absolutely loved both main characters and the way their relationship developed — their chemistry was fantastic!

I also really appreciated the representation of women in engineering and the honest look at the challenges of working in a male-dominated field.

I highly recommend this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review!

WOW. This is THE summer read!! I loved the angst, tension, banter, the secret pining… all of it! I also loved the narration and story telling ♥️

This book features many things that I love in a contemporary romance... ethnically diverse characters, interracial relationships, a work environment with sexual tension and good spice. Nisha j. Tuli delivered. Common tropes like one bed aside, I thought this book was incredibly entertaining without being overly predictable. Good tension, great narrator... would recommend.

Thank you to Hachette Audio and Net Galley for the ARC.

Narration was great!

This was cute. I didn’t love it as much as I thought I was going to. I might be a bit burnt out on enemies to lovers haha which is a me issue, so I’m sure other readers will love this book.

I did wish it was dual POV.

Thank you to the publisher for an ALC and an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

One of the best romance novels of the year! Nisha really knows how to write the most agonizing and thrilling slow burn while building chemistry that is flying off the pages.
The narrator had a great voice to tell this story that kept me captivated and fully immersed the whole time.

Thank you Hachette, NetGalley and Nisha J. Tuli for such a fun and spicy arc! And happy Pub day!

The cover caught my attention first, then the chemistry between these two puts the cherry on top! As a person who is not a part of the corporation culture, how suffocating it is to 'go along to get along', the petty cliques of office life. This gave a glimpse into a life both Rafe and Trishara do not want. Rafe's connection to Hannah was very annoying, though. Like, come on. Of course, he can't tell his dad to shove it, so I understand.

What a trope-filled delight this was! A sizzling workplace romance packed with undeniable chemistry and sharp charm.

Set against the lush, dreamy backdrop of a Hawaiian retreat, this story shines with wit, heart, and intellect. Tuli crafts a compelling narrative around a smart, capable woman navigating—and challenging—a male-dominated corporate world, taking on the patriarchy with style and substance.

Tuli strikes a fantastic balance between heat and humor, making this an ideal pick for your summer or beach read list.

Soneela Nankani’s audio narration is a standout, vividly bringing the characters and their world to life with energy and nuance.

This is really a 3.5 for me.

First off, I got the audio, love the narrator, she did the nuance for each of the characters distinctive enough to feel the book and each of their parts. Good job.

On to the book, first off, love that they address minority women’s challenge in a Old Boys Club work place. Even though the execs are doing it for show they all know it’s hooky.

Second, the crush for Trist on Rafe turned real, who wouldn’t like that?! The pull and tuck was cute until they done it one too many times and I felt whiplashed. The tension was cute at first but it felt dragged on after a while.

Now, I will say when they do get together it’s hot, but again the whiplash back and forth was annoying by then. When they want to be the flirting was fun and cute, but the insecurities & obligations just came up a few too many times. The plot overall is fine, the tension is fun, but whiplash…

Thanks to NetGalley & Hachette Audio for the ARC

This gets all the stars!!! I ate this up in one day. Rival engineers, workplace retreat, one bed. Sign me up!! Tris an engineer near burnout, constantly having to fight against the misogyny in a male dominated workplace is stuck sharing a room on a workplace retreat with her rival. What could go wrong……

Thank you to Forever and netgalley for an arc.

I really enjoyed this, but there were a few fatphobic comments made by both main characters that left a sour taste in my mouth. But as someone with friends who are women in engineering, I really appreciated the no frills look at the sexism, racism, and microagressions experienced by the main character.
