Thank you Netgalley and Hachette Audio for an ALC of this book! The manner in which I received this audiobook has no impact on my review.

Absolutely loved this audiobook. The narrator, Soneela Nankani, did an amazing job portraying the main character, Tris, and I’m sure that when I do a reread I’ll hear her voice the exact same way. The banter was amazing and had me chuckling throughout the book. I loved the BIPOC and Women-in-Engineering representation while showing the challenges Tris faced because of these facts. I loved Tuli’s series Artefacts of the Ouranos but this definitely hit closer to home and will have a special place in my heart. ALSO, such a clever title!!

This book was an absolute delight to read! It had everything I look for — engaging writing, memorable characters, and a story that stayed with me long after I turned the last page. The author’s voice is distinct and compelling, making it easy to get lost in the world they created, no matter the genre.

I'm incredibly grateful to the publisher for the early copy. It was such a joy to read this in advance, and I can’t wait for more readers to experience it. Highly recommend!

What a fun, breezy read to kick off the summer season!

Trishara is a strong yet human character, and I enjoyed her journey to show her worth in an industry catered to white men. It felt like Trish was a close friend of mine because her struggles felt real, and I applaud the author's bravery for drawing from her real-life experiences. For a contemporary workplace romance, the book delivered an important, thought-provoking message that deserves to be heard and amplified.

Honestly, I enjoyed the women's fiction aspect of the story more than the romance. Don't get me wrong: Rafe is a perfect book boyfriend, but that was also his flaw. he felt more like a foil to all the vile men in Trish's life, more than his own person. His character arc isn't as fleshed out as that of Trishara's, and the reveal about his secret hobby kinda felt like it was just there to make the audience swoon, so he fell flat compared to a well-developed heroine like Trish. Still, I'm glad the author did not succumb to the book trope mob and made Trishara a character who can stand on her own instead of a damsel who needed Rafe to act as her knight in shining armor. That would've reversed all of Trishara's commendable traits, and I was worried the book would steer that way, but I'm glad it didn't.

Still, the romance was nice! I adored their chemistry, and the description of Rafe's abs was honestly such a cheeky guilty pleasure. While some scenes and tropes felt formulaic, I never had a dull moment while reading the book.

The audiobook narrator did an excellent job of captivating Trishara's character! The performance was natural and easy to listen to.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hatchette Audio for the advanced audiobook copy!

This book was just not made for me. I don’t think that there’s anything inherently wrong with it, & I can absolutely see others enjoying this book. But not me. I am all for a story about women in male dominated fields taking names & kicking ass, but this was one of those stories that made it feel a bit heavy handed without actually giving meat to it, yknow? I just wasn’t super compelled by Tris or Rafe, & I think the story itself just didn’t grip me. Like it was a vessel for the romance to take place instead of a full story. & there is SO a time & place for that, but I am just not the right audience for it. Fans of the Spanish Love Deception will be into this book, & I love that for them! Not my cup of tea, but I hope others enjoy it!

Thank you so much to NetGalley & Hachette Audio for the ALC!

Loved the e-book, loved the audio just as much. I can't wait to see what Nisha has up her sleeves after dipping her toe into the rom=com genre. The banter between Tris and Rafe. *chefs kiss* of a book

Tropes:

[ ] Women in stem
[ ] Women of colour
[ ] Rivals to lovers
[ ] Only one bed
[ ] Hawaii
[ ] Workplace romance

Overall, this was a cute, fun read. Is it something that has been written time and time again? Yes. Will I continue to keep reading it? Also, yes.

I really enjoyed the narration. However, I would've loved Rafe's pov

Our two main characters 'hate' each other after getting off on the wrong foot 5 years ago at work, and since that day, their relationship has been snipes and barbs at each other and nothing more. Then, one day, the two employees who were chosen to go on a work trip to Hawaii for 3 weeks are announced, and no surprise, it is these two hatebirds.

We have a one room & then a one bed situation which was delicious.

Their rivalry seems a little bit childish, especially given that they around around 30 so more open communication would've been great, but in saying that, it was still cute banter and drama.

This book strongly focused on women and, in particular, women of colour working in male dominated fields. Some of the men in this book were disgusting. The fact that the author said some things were based on her personal experience is horrific.

I am always a sucker for the mmc, looking after the fmc, whether that's anxiety, sickness, depression whatever and the ballroom scene gave me exactly that!

Overall, this was a cute read and good if you're looking for a sweet pallate cleanser book.

This was a fun summer read! I didn’t connect to the main character/she made different decisions than I would have, but I loved the set up and the unique work environment.

”Tris, you are the most amazing women I’ve ever met. You challenge me. You understand me in a way no one else ever has. You make me laugh, and you make me feel things I’ve never felt before. And even if you send me away, it will be worth it because then, at least, I’ll have finally told you I love you.”

This is my first book by this author and it did not disappoint at all. I had such an amazing time listening to this book! The banter and the tension between both of the characters was so done well. The vibes and the atmosphere was everything in this book. The narrator has done such an amazing job in telling this story, her narration was phenomenal! I highly recommend the audiobook for this! The amount of time I found myself giggling over what Rafe was saying. Did I find Trishara annoying at times? yes I did. I say that’s the reason why it’s not rated higher but I learned to get pass that.

Thanks to NetGalley and Hachette Audio for this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

We love a strong STEM girlie who finds her voice and knows her worth! And we love even more when love comes from someone who knows she deserves the world and he’s her biggest fan. I couldn’t put this down today! Loved being an ARC reader

As an HR professional, I often struggle with workplace romances. But this one was fun!!

Being a woman in a male dominated field can be difficult to navigate. I appreciated how the misogyny was represented and dealt with in the book (but wish it wasn’t the reality woman are faced with)

3.5 stars. This was a fun contemporary workplace romance. To start, I have to just say that I loved that the FMC referred to her racist and misogynistic colleagues as “the khakis.” The author portrays the harsh reality that far too many of women have had to face in the work force. Both the author and our FMC are BIPOC which just adds another level to the story and the struggles faced. I commend the author for sharing this story as it is inspired by her own experiences in the corporate world. I loved seeing our FMC Tris find her voice throughout this story. She becomes a true powerhouse without sacrificing what she knows is right.

As for the romance, the banter was so funny and then becomes incredibly sweet and steamy. I loved their connection and how he always had her best interests in mind. With that said, the fact that he continuously stopped everything to pick up his ex’s calls was so frustrating. I get they were friends for a long time but it was happening so often that I didn’t fully buy that he was over her. It was also extremely disrespectful to Tris. He knew this and yet continued to do it.

I did end up enjoying Tris as a character in the end but I had a hard time connecting with her throughout. She wants so badly to be taken seriously for her talents but then continuously acts in an unprofessional manner and is often downright rude to people. It also took me out of the story that she was sent on a luxury work retreat to Hawaii for 3 full weeks, put up in a luxury suite, and allowed to purchase all LV luggage and accessories for the trip. The luggage and hotel alone would have been over $100,000. No company is spending that on a junior employee, even to attempt to fix optics. Overall, while I enjoyed the writing and the story, it felt a little bit disjointed for me. It was still a fun and steamy read with a good dose of feminine rage (that was awesome and empowering).

Thank you so much to Nisha, Forever, and NetGalley for this ALC in return for my honest review. My opinions are my own.

This was such a fun read!

I love a good rivals to lovers romance especially when you throw in forced proximity and the one bed trope!

I love the banter and chemistry between Tris and Rafe. It cracked me up that she thought she kept her obsession with him a secret but her bestie saw right through her and saw their work trip as the perfect opportunity for a little no strings fun. But of course it wouldn’t be a romcom if they didn’t fall head over heels in love with each other.

It’s hard to say who fell for the other first but Rafe certainly gave into them first and wasn’t shy about them. The mouth on that man 🫦!

I completely understood the walls Tris built adter her horrific experience with her ex and couldn’t wait for Rafe to tear them down.

I really loved the growth both characters experienced in this book. Tris found her confidence and purpose. I’m still smiling thinking about that email she sent. It was the catharsis I think all women in a male dominated field needed.

I loved Rafe. I loved that even when she thought they hated each other she still felt safe with him. And that he was completely obsessed with her.

What I didn’t love was how he handled things with his ex. While I had faith that he truly believed their relationship was over, I was annoyed right along with Tris when he was unable to see boundaries and continued to answer her numerous calls.

The audiobook was amazing! Soneela Nankani did a wonderful job narrating. She brought so much life to Tris.

Thank you so much to @nishajtwrites, @readforeverpub, and @hachetteaudio for the ARC and ALC of NSFW!

This delicious slow agonizing burn absolutely ATE and left no crumbs! It was so worth it. NISHA, this was sooooo damn good. NSFW has all my favorite tropes/microtropes. I gobbled up this book like Trishara and her macaroons!

Soneela Nankani is an amazing narrator. She absolutely brought Trishara to life.

The chemistry between Tris and Rafe was 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻. There is so much banter, tension, and angst. This book was such a fun ride while also bringing notice to women in stem and exposing company patriarchy. Tris is such a phenomenal character. Me every time she shot back at the sexist comments/remarks "THATS MY GIRL!!" I devoured this book within a few hours.

I see what you did there, Nisha... "revenge blöwjöb to the hot fae prince who kidnapped her." and I am here for it. 😏 Shoutout to AOO!!

Overall, this was such a fun, cute, steamy, tropical workplace romcom with some important topics!

Trishara is done with the nepotism, sexism and racism of her office, but when they want to send her on a 3 week training summit to Hawaii to prove they are “inclusive” she decides to accept the trip and move on after. Unfortunately her nemesis will also be going, and the executive assistant only booked them one room 😱

This book was hilarious, I was giggling so hard I may have actually cried.

📚Book Review📚
Book: Not Safe For Work

Not Safe for Work is a witty workplace romance filled with humor, tension, and lots of talk about dessert all while in Hawaii. This book was filled with so much fun banter between Trishara and Rafe that you can’t help but to be rooting for them from the beginning. Throughout the book we also see Trishara’s own struggles being a working woman in STEM, and watching her overcome these struggles and empower herself added a layer of depth to the characters that made the book all the more enjoyable.

This was my first audiobook, which was an absolutely incredible experience as I feel like it really brought the characters to life and gave them a voice that can sometimes be difficult to translate when reading.

Book Tropes

☀️ shared hotel room (in Hawaii!)
☀️ workplace romance

Thank you very much to Nisha J Tuli, @nishajtwrites @netgalley and @hachetteaudio for the ALC.

Not Safe for Work is the story of Tishara Malik and Rafe Gallagher. Tishara is feeling more and more like her desire to advance in her career and break her company's glass ceiling isn't happening when she is unexpectedly chosen to attend a leadership retreat in Hawaii for three week. The one downside is that her arch nemesis and co-worker Rafe was also invited. When they are accidentally booked in the same suite with one bed they are forced to confront the real issues between them.

I received a copy of the audiobook copy from NetGally and I am voluntarily leaving a review. The narrator was good and I was pulled into the story right away. I wanted to love this book much more than I did. The premise was great, I think it lacked something by not being a dual POV. You end up with a lot of the MFC obsessively overthinking everything about her life and the MMC. The story was great, and setting and situations were pretty believable which I loved, but there was only so many times you wanted to read the internal monologue of the FMC go on and on about what the MMC looks like and smells like. Overall, it was good read but not a great one.

Not Safe for Work was a great book, and for me, an introduction to this author. I've obviously heard about her fantasy romance books, and I have them all on my TBR, but this contemporary romance was wonderful.

First of all, when I read the blurb, I was immediately interested, then I found out the book had some of my favorite tropes: rivals to lovers and one bed, and I was sold. This book gave laughs, banter, and sexual tension, but also talked about and dealt with very serious and very real issues that most women experience at least once in their lives: misogyny, racism, nepotism, sexism, among others. What these men did and said wasn't really fiction; it's facts. Every time they opened their mouth I was like "f*ck him/them"

Trishara was a badass, and I would love to be her friend IRL. She was witty, smart, and funny. I loved her banter with Rafe and her inner monologues. I connected so much with her because of what she was going through at work, and with her help, because it's something I've experienced, not at her level but in a similar way. I was rooting for her from the very beginning.

Rafe was not what I expected. The usual type in workplace romances is a grumpy, broody guy, but he wasn't like that; his character was deeper and more nuanced than I expected, and I loved to see his growth and see him follow his dreams. And, even though the love story was predictable, I loved seeing Tris and Rafe together

I listened to the audiobook, and I think the narrator, Soneela Nankani, was perfect; she fit the character and vibes really well. She definitely brought the story to life. I would have loved to see Rafe POV though.

Overall, I really liked this book and would definitely recommend. Thank you, Hachette Audio and Netgalley for this ALC.

**ARC Read**

Be prepared for the spice! However, despite the hot and heavy spice, I enjoyed the character development. Plus, the scenery is amazing. I would have loved to be physically in Hawaii, but it was nice to read about it! The characters were memorable and very relatable. Also, very important topics were brought up throughout the book that could happen to anyone.

This book was everything! It was such a slow burn and then 🔥🔥🔥 INFERNO! I am a sucker for Just One Bed and this one didn’t miss. Workplace rivals is also one of my faves so that added to the joy. Tris was such a strong female presence- AANHPI, STEM, and a badass! Rage was a model for the he falls first trope and he was in hard! The Maui resort setting was perfect.
As for the audio, Soneela Nankani embodied Tris and did a great job as Rafe. I loved her narration!
