https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/92234342-courtneyA great beach read set in a luxury Maui resort that is perfect for anyone who loves a slow burn with forced proximity! After loving Artefacts of Ouranos, I couldn't wait to read Tuli's take on a Rom-Com and it was exactly what I was hoping to read!
I read the Arc and was thrilled to get a chance to listen to the audiobook as well. The narration is excellent and really adds to the story! I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a good audiobook!

Thank you NetGalley for an early copy!
I actually liked the audiobook for this. the narrator as well and full cast. it was very cute and funny.

Sparks fly between work enemies as Tris and Rafe are selected to attend a retreat in Hawaii. This was my first book by the author and I was pleasantly surprised at how much this romance worked for me! Just the right kind of slow-burn with great chemistry between the characters, killer FMC and swoony tortured hero MMC.
I thought Tris was super likable, very smart and relatable. The book is entirely from her POV and we really get to know her throughout the story. It’s a fun enemies to lovers romance with a STEM theme, they’re in Maui and the atmosphere was tropical and relaxing. I really enjoyed the work drama plot, Chapter 28 is particularly outstanding in the finale!
The romance started out slow, a previous work relationship and its fallout hang over Tris’ head, and her reluctance to purse relations with Rafe were a big hurdle. Once the characters got together it was fast and steamy, with a small wrench thrown in to add tension. Recommending this to fans of Summery enemies to lovers romances!
Thank you to Hachette Audio for the free audiobook. Narration by Soneela Nankani was entertaining and made the story come to life. I loved the snark and delivery for Tris. Her timing and performance was great!

3.5/5 ⭐️
“Enemies” find themselves on a work trip to paradise and “gasp” there is only one bed. Not Safe For Work does its best to live up to the name as there is very little done professionally on this trip or really anywhere else. Overall it does a pretty good job of incorporating workplace and personal issues into this slow burn romance.

Loved this one ❤️ the workplace romance enemies to lovers was written so well, and Tris is a superhero. An fmc working in a job that is stereotyped heavily with white men instantly caught my attention. Learning that Nisha Tuli has lived in the woman working in the engineer world trying to fight racial AND gender stereotypes and microagressions just sold me on this even further.
I loved that Rafe had a secret "hobby"? and that he always stood up for Tris even if they hated each other. Even with his own family and friends.
The female friendships formed are underrated. Lan, Molly, and Gabrielle all deserve their own books and HEA. Interconnected standalones in this world, please!

This review and rating is for the audiobook only. A detailed one about the book is on GR!
I lived the narration and production of this book! The narrator did an amazing job. She portrayed the emotions and the dialogues and the feelings really well. Her pronunciations were easy to understand too! Highly enjoyed it.

I couldn't get enough of this book. I stayed up late to finish it because I didn't want to leave Rafe and Tris hanging- which I am so glad that I didn't. I absolutely loved this book.
Tris was so relatable on so many levels. I love her inner strength and her attitude at the end! What a way to say goodbye to people who don't value you. Standing ovation.
I loved Rafe's mystery and oh man, their banter was on fire. His forearms. :melting:
I highly recommend this book! It was spicy, some easter eggs from Nisha's other books. Which I squeeled. Love love love.
Loved Soneela Nankani as the narrator. She had great range with all the different characters. Very easy to follow.
Recommend this as an audiobook. I loved it sooo much!

I adored this book! Not Safe for Work gave me everything I crave in a contemporary romance—real enemies to lovers tension that actually lasts the whole way through, a heroine who’s sharp, talented, and navigating a tough industry, and a hero with layers that unfold so perfectly.
Trishara and Rafe’s chemistry is off the charts, but what really stood out to me was how well Nisha J. Tuli explored what it’s like to be a woman in a male dominated field, and not just that, but a woman of color. Trishara’s struggles were so real and relatable. You could feel the pressure she was under at every turn, and it was infuriating and validating all at once. She’s wildly capable, yet constantly having to prove herself, and that hit hard.
The single POV worked beautifully here. Getting the story solely from Trishara’s perspective let us experience her frustrations, her growth, and ultimately her slow discovery of who Rafe really is beneath the smug facade. It made his character arc even more satisfying once his real self started to shine through.
Also, can we talk about the migraine rep? It was so refreshing to see chronic pain handled with nuance. Trishara’s migraines weren’t just a throwaway detail, they were a part of her daily reality and added so much depth to her character and the challenges she faced.
And the forced proximity in this one?? Chef’s kiss. The whole “only one bed” and being stuck in a hotel suite together absolutely heightened the tension to a delicious level. Every scene between them crackled.
The ending? Perfection. No spoilers, but the way things wrapped up for both Trishara and Rafe was so satisfying and well-earned. It was emotional, empowering, and just… exactly what I wanted.
This was my first book by Nisha J. Tuli (I usually stick to contemporary romance), but now I have to check out her fantasy series. I’m officially a fan!
Also… can we please get a book for Molly? I would love to stay in this world just a little longer. Highly recommend this one, it's a standout in the genre and one I’ll be shouting about for a while!
I thought the narration was done well. I wish we could have had Rafe's voice as duet narration, but I did really enjoy the female narration of the character.
Thank you to Hachette Audio for this ALC. All opinions are my own.

The audiobook was well produced and I enjoyed the narrator. The book itself just wasn't my cup of tea. If you enjoyed The Hating Game this one might be for you.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you HachetteAudio and NetGalley for this ALC, in exchange this is my honest review.
“Not Safe for Work” by Nisha Tuli narrated by Soneela Nankani was a delightful listen! Nankani skillfully takes the listener into Tris’ mind and makes her real. Between Tuli’s ability to make Tris relatable and Nakani’s narration bringing her to life it was a fantastic listen!
Tris was relatable and funny. I loved hearing her thoughts and was relieved that she wasn’t a young 20. I loved the enemies to lovers and Tris’ move from hatred to accepting her feelings for Rafe. It was refreshing to have a main character that was in the workplace and already experiencing burn out rather than a fresh 20 something excited for life, making Tris so much more relatable. Because of her relatability, I found it much more rewarding to watch her come into her own and triumph. Rafe had so much depth as well, starting as a perceived nepo-baby and developing into a character with layers and depth. It’s a slow burn, but so worth it. Their first kiss was so hot, and it only got hotter.
The story was fun and I kept cheering for the main characters and loved watching their story grow and Tris’ character growth. Funny, witty, and delightful, “Not Safe For Work” is great first a romcom for Tuli! What a great introduction into Tuli’s writing and a wonderful listen during drives and my daily tasks, it helped make a normally mundane day more enjoyable! Overall 4/5 stars. Buy or pre-order this audiobook to be published May 19, 2025.

ARC and ALC review
“Not Safe For Work” is Nisha J. Tuli’s first contemporary romcom and I was so excited to read it.
I received an ARC from Forever and an ALC from Hachette Audio (via Netgalley).
Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Trishara and Rafe are engineers, working for WMC Purcell.
They are picked to attend WMC's corporate leadership retreat in Hawaii.
What you can expect:
- workplace romance
- slow burn (with spice)
- women in STEM
- rivals to lovers
- only one bed
I have to say that this was such a fun read that I finished it in one day.
From the author’s note I expected to find personal experiences in the book and this was a good thing.
The situations that the main character went through are relatable and were presented realistically.
Women in male dominated fields need to work harder and still have to struggle with a lot.
Trisha faces sexism, racism and microaggressions in the workplace and she has to watch as others get her hard earned promotions.
The romance part was such a slow burn, with tension and a lot of angst.
The story is told only through one POV, so we learn about Rafe through Trishara’s eyes.
It was so fun to read about so many ways brown eyes can be described.
Even if she doesn’t want to admit it, Tris was into Rafa from the beginning, but her insecurities kept them apart.
Rafe was such a green flag and I am glad that he managed to step up and confront his father about what makes him happy.
I did not like the miscommunication, but it showed the insecurities and vulnerabilities that they both had.
The audiobook is narrated by Soneela Nankani and she manages to make the reading experience even better.
Her narration is really good and manages to bring the characters to life.
While listening to the story you can fell the emotions and the pacing helped me stay engaged.
Overall this is a good book that I recommend to romance lovers that enjoy reading about strong women.

4 stars.
"Not Safe for Work" by Nisha J. Tuli is going to be an instant classic, quote me on that! It is a workplace rivals/enemies-to-lovers/forced proximity/only one bed rom-com full of amazing banter, an excellent story, and fabulous characters. I loved Trishara and Rafe so, so much! Trishara is such a bad@$$ woman in STEM, and Rafe is top-tier book boyfriend material with his smouldering gaze and incredible arms (Tris's thoughts, not mine!) Trishara has faced a lot of sexism, racism, and microaggressions in the workplace, and the way she handles it in the end will have readers cheering. I really enjoyed Tuli's commentary on all of this, but I don't want to give too much away. Rafe is more than meets the eye. He might be a nepo-baby, but he's got a lot of ambition beyond the office where he and Tris work... where his father is boss. Nisha J. Tuli has created two absolutely wonderful personalities that readers can root for from start to finish. The chemistry between them is electric, and even when they are fighting, you cannot deny that there is a spark between them. Tris has had a bad experience with a workplace romance in the past, so she is more than hesitant to begin anything serious with Rafe. Her apprehension is a source of strife between them, as is Rafe's father's insistence that he be promoted for everything and anything at work, even if he hasn't necessarily earned it. There is quite a bit of excellently written spice to gobble up! I also enjoyed Soneela Nankani's audiobook narration. She brings these characters to life in a vibrant, fantastic way. I have always loved her narration style. She has excellent pacing and diction, and you can really feel the emotions with every word she speaks. All in all, this is a terrific book, and I really hope you read it!
Thank you to NetGalley, Nisha J. Tuli, Hachette Audio, and Forever for the complimentary ALC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

Loved this book. Trishara is such a boss! I love a girl who stands up for herself and what is right and to have a man that supports her is just swoony. Rafe set a new standard in good guys even if they both stumbled at times. This audiobook had a great narrator how brought the story to life.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc of this audiobook. This book is absolutely amazing, and so refreshing to have a mfc that isn’t financially struggling living with their parents while everyone harps on her. The mfc of this book is amazing but shy but watched her nemesis at work and the banter in this book is perfect. She works hard for to get promoted at work after being passed up multiple times she finally gets a chance to go to a work trip to advance her career, but there was a mistake in scheduling for hotel rooms and she gets roomed with her work rival and bosses son. They slowly grow together and decide that they have a work trip fling, but he wants more, but since her previously relationship was a workplace romance she decides she doesn’t want to go down that road again.
After there relationship starts to heat up she finds out that he wants more than anything to become a baker and has a huge following online, but his family thinks his “hobby” is a waste of time and force him into his father’s business, but she encourages his passion for food.
She finally gets break and invite to interview for a promotional program when she shows up early the guy there decides the only way he’ll let her advance is if she does something for him. She decided that she’s not letting happen again and quits when the head woman shows up and says to just let it happen and turns a blind eye, she goes home and emails the company calling out all the gatemen that she has endured the last 5 years.
I cannot recommend this book enough. The narrators did an amazing job and I was hook from the minute I pressed play.

Yowza. This was HOT. And I don't mean this was full of spice and nothing else, but the spice was expertly written. I am definitely in my romcom era and this fit the bill perfectly.
I typically love a good work rivals to lovers situation but this was definitely top tier, the tension between the characters was LEAPING off the pages.
Also those side characters were amazing and I would read their love story also.

I absolutely adored this book!!
I listened to the audiobook and the narration was amazing, it made everything an even better experience. I genuinely enjoyed it!
Trishara is an engineer who's really starting to feel the burnout at WMC, having to deal with privileged man who don't see her as an equal, passing her over for promotions she deserved. But then they offer her the opportunity to attend a corporate leadership retreat in Maui, she feels there is a chance, even though she has to go with the boss's son Rafe, her nemesis. They never got along, but after a booking error forces them to spend the next three weeks sharing the same room, that might change. She gets to see different sides of him and things slowly get heated..
I loved their banter and the tension was perfection. It really made the book for me. I was having so much fun, giggling and kicking my feet!! The pacing was perfect for me.
Also, I really liked how the struggles Tris had to endure were presented. I was so mad at the way she was treated at times and so proud at how she handled it at the end. And Rafe, he was adorable, I loved him so much.
I will never be okay with a lack of communication, but sometimes I can give it a pass. In this case, it didn't ruin my experience that much. And I really do hate when there's other people. It drove me mad, but I still had a great time!
It was a perfect romcom, and the one bed trope is always a plus!

🌺 Charming, Fun, and Fiercely Feminine: Not Safe For Work by Nisha J. Tuli🌺
Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? Not Safe For Work is an absolute delight that had me giggling and swooning from the very first page! Nisha J. Tuli has created a modern-day romcom that weaves the spellbinding allure of enemies-to-lovers with the tropical magic of Hawaii. 🌴✨
Meet Trishara Malik, our fierce and fabulous heroine, who is navigating the treacherous waters of corporate life at WMC Purcell. I couldn't help but root for her as she confronts the all-too-real challenges of facing white male privilege and nepotism. The glass ceiling may be making Tris feel a bit shaken, but her determination and resilience shine like sunbeams on a beautiful beach day! ☀️💪
Then we have Rafe Gallagher, the smoldering “eleven” (seriously, how is he even real?). Sharing a honeymoon suite with him? Talk about a twist of fate! 🙈💖 Their banter is sharp, electric, and filled with that delicious tension that makes you want to keep turning the pages into the very late hours of the night. You can practically feel the chemistry crackling between them as they navigate corporate challenges and ignite some sizzling sparks along the way.
The forced proximity trope is pure gold, and Tuli executes it flawlessly! Watching Tris and Rafe transition from rivals to teammates—and maybe something more—was like witnessing magic unfold before my eyes. ✨💕 The character development is genuinely heartwarming, and I found myself giggling at their witty repartee while also cheering for them to break down their walls.
With beautiful descriptions of Hawaiian sunsets and picturesque beaches, I felt as if I was on a sun-soaked getaway alongside Tris and Rafe. Tuli's writing style is as refreshing as a cool ocean breeze and as addictive as a tropical cocktail! 🍹🌊
This book isn’t just about romance; it’s a celebration of empowerment, ambition, and the bond of trust that develops through competition and collaboration. Will Tris choose to rise above past grievances with Rafe? Will she dare to let herself love instead of flee? You’ll have to read it to find out, but trust me—you won’t want to miss this adventure!
Not Safe For Work is a wonderfully vibrant escape that every romance lover deserves to experience. So gather your favorite beach towel, a piña colada, and dive into this enchanting tale of love, rivalry, and triumph. I promise you’ll be left with a smile on your face and a heart full of warmth! 🌺📚💖

This was a highly entertaining book to listen to. I was captivated by the workplace banter and the characters Tuli created. It was easy to listen to, and I felt like I was in the office and on location with them several times. Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy.

My first read of Not Safe for Work had me laughing my ass off throughout. I did not think it’d be possible, but this audio made me laugh even harder. I found myself going back a little bit because I was laughing so hard that I missed the next lines. Rinse and repeat.
Soneela Nankani narrates this audiobook and she is absolutely phenomenal. She was also a narrator for the Artefacts of Ouranos so I knew she would also kill it here. One thing I especially love about her narration is being able to separate internal thoughts and actual dialogue. Tris’ internal monologue has such great zingers and I’m so glad that the narration really allows you to get those separate from what she actually says.
I listened at 1.5x most of the time and felt that was a good speed for me, but the times I was listening at 1x or 1.25x also didn’t feel slow or dragged out. For a contemporary romance, I feel like a faster speed is easier due to not needing more time to mull over/think through world building.
Overall I had a great time listening to Not Safe for Work. The banter was phenomenal and the spicy scenes (and thoughts) had increased tension and yearning as compared to my initial read (and it was already pretty high!).

OMG. I read this a couple weeks back, so being able to listen has been amazing!! I loved it the first time, and even more the second time! Soneela Nankani did such a great job. She brought Trishara to life! I don't often like when women read mens parts, I prefer duets, but Soneela was AMAZING at not one Trishara, but Rafe too! Such a fun enemies to lovers. The side characters are also so fun, and I hope we get to see more of them!

review from first read:
I have a love/hate relationship with this book. For the most part it was so good, but there where some parts that felt so rushed...the ending being one of them. The tension and angst had me wanting more throughout the whole read. I was caught constantly saying "KISS ALREADY" lol.
The book was a fun read, but I don't feel fulfilled... If that even makes sense. I still have questions about characters, and I just have the feeling that there could have been more. Over all it was an enjoyable read. Definitely a nice pallet cleanser in between reads.
On a side note, the cover is stunning. *spoiler* but that part of the book was one of my favorite moments.
