Who doesnt love an enemies/rivals forced proximity!! How are Trishara and Rafe so clueless as to the chemisty they have - I love that it is so obvious to everyonr around them. As soon as they got to the hotel and there was only 1 room with 1 bed I was giddy! The slow burn had me hooked and cheering them on.
Thank you Nisha J Tuli, Hachette Audio, and NetGalley for this Arc.

HOLY WOWZERS! I ate this book up like if it was a delicious cake. OR was there actual cake involved?… 😏 You’ll just have to wait and read to find out! What I CAN say AND rave about is how Rafe (MMC) is THE ultimate PERFECT man. 😮💨
Have I been day dreaming about him ever since I finished Not Safe For Work? TOTALLY, MAYBE, A MILLION PERCENT! He is everything a woman could EVER want.
Washboard abs? Check ✅ Beautiful face? Done ✅ Rich boy? You got it ✅ - BUT in all honesty what attracted me the most about Rafe is how sweet and caring he is. He’s like a fit teddy bear 💪🏻🧸
And let me not leave behind my girl Trishara!
Our GORGEOUS, amazing, independent, powerful, Smart, Confident and Sexy MFC. Trishara is my “I wanna be just like her when I grow up” girl. (I’m 29 👁️👄👁️)
Loved the dynamic between these two star crossed lovers. ♥️ and what better way to fall in love with the “enemy” than in Hawaii! 🌴🌊
Trope wise we have:
🤞🏼💕 Fated Mates
🥵♥️ Forced Proximity
👫🏻💕 Enemies To Lovers, AND
🛏️🔥One Bed
What did I love the most? All the drama that happened in Hawaii! Loads of fun challenges, lots of tension, loved how Trishara didn’t take anyone’s crap and always called it out like it is.
Also I want to point out that in a sense they were both struggling in different ways when it came to standing up for their dreams (career wise)At the end it made me so happy to see that they didn’t let anyone get in the way of making their dream career happen and that they supported each other along the way.
The ending was SUPER CUTE to me. Definitely wanted a longer epilogue but I can just imagine the rest. 🥰
So with that being said, SAY ALOHA 🌺 pack your bags 🧳 grab your coconut 🥥 and enjoy Not Safe For Work 🌴I guarantee this will be your favorite summer romcom read this year! 💕☀️
Thank You NetGalley for my ALC the audio was perfect!

Not Safe for work was a fine romance. If you love workplace romance books, this one hits all the major beats and has a MMC that is very attracted to the FMC (and great at showing it after a slow burn). I didn't find anything that stood out incredibly about this book. Like the female POC in STEM I think is an important part of the story and needs to be told often, but this book did not wow me.
I would absolutely recommend this book for the right reader. This is a lovely story with great characters and I wanted them to succeed at the end.

This was a fun read, but it also hit on the topic of being a woman of color in STEM. I enjoyed this one!
Here is the scoop:
Trishara (or Tris for short) is an engineer, but after 5 years of being looked over for advancement and other opportunities she is tired and might just be ready to move on. But then she is chosen for a corporate leadership retreat and has the opportunity to compete for a training program that might just give her back the spark she was missing. The catch? Rafe Gallagher- the bosses son and the man who got the advancement job she wanted, is coming with her. Will there be trouble in paradise? Or will these rivals become something more?
My thoughts:
Overall this book was an easy read and enjoyable. I read this one after a more serious romance and it was a nice change of pace. I can tell that Nisha writes fantasy with some of the imagery and language she uses and it didn’t bother me but I can see that bothering others.
Audiobook review:
Soneela Nankani did a fabulous job with the narration and I think I enjoyed this one more as a listen than an eyeball read. The book is written in first person and Soneela truly did an excellent job with the voices and inflection for each of the characters as well as for Trishara’s inner monologue. I was able to decipher this clearly which I don’t find very often when the character has an inner monologue.
Thank you to Forever, NetGalley, and Hachette Audio for the eArc and ALC!
3-4 open door scenes.

I’m a huge fan of Nisha J. Tuli’s Artefacts of Ouranos series (Lor is 100% that bitch), so when I found out she was writing a contemporary romance, I had to check it out—and Nisha did not disappoint.
Not Safe for Work nails the rivals-to-lovers and one-room tropes. The way the main characters slowly opened up to each other as their story unraveled was so sweet and had me kicking my feet.
Trishara's feelings and experiences around navigating a male dominated workplace as a smart, intelligent, but constantly overlooked woman were painfully relatable. She’s a fierce, unapologetic baddie with fuck the patriarchy energy, and we love her for that.
Meanwhile, Rafe, gave me secret cinnamon roll vibes, hard on the outside but so sweet and kind on the inside. Also, the rizz on this man – call the police!
Props to Nisha for weaving together romance, comedy, and clever social commentary into a more than delightful read. If you’re looking for a fun romcom with lovable characters and thought-provoking notes on gender dynamics in the workplace, this book is for you.

3.5 stars
Narration: The narrator was great, she made me really invest my self in the story and connect with the FMC. I really enjoy this as an audiobook and would recommend to read it in this form.
Plot: I love a good work place romance, slow burn, rivals to lovers romance. The story started strong, but the pacing felt a bit slow.
The FMC was smart, fierce and good at what she does. I liked that she stood up for herself from the beginning even when her environment wasn’t so helpful. However sometimes I found her a bit annoying, and at mid point I couldn’t felt related with her anymore (but that’s a me thing). The MMC was a nice change in perspective (though I would have love his own POV, it didn’t feel that necessary to the story, but it would have created a much more depth to this character); and it was nice to see their relationship developed; the spice was good.
This book would be perfect for the summer; is quick & fun, and overall I would recommend it.

🌴 enemies to lovers
☀️ forced proximity
🌊 workplace romance
Trishara Malek is an engineer and has been working really hard to climb the career ladder. After she loses one job after the other, she is at the point of quitting. Then she gets surprised by being picked for a company retreat to Hawaii. This retreat could be the thing that would help her get further in her career. The only downside is that she has to go on this retreat with her nemesis, Rafe Gallagher.
Rafe is the boss’s son and got the promotion instead of Tris, who worked really hard for it. Now they have to spend three weeks together in Maui. Tris is planning on ignoring Rafe the whole trip. Then she finds out that they have to share a room together, so ignoring him turns out to be impossible.
These three weeks spent so close to each other made Trishara see Rafe in a different light. She learns many new things about him and realises that Rafe wasn’t as bad as she made him out to be. Will this retreat change how Tris feels about Rafe forever?
This book is really great. It’s cute, funny, and romantic but it also deals with more serious issues as male privilege in the workplace and nepotism.
The characters were great and I liked the chemistry and the banter between them. I also liked how they got into the craziest situations together during the team building exercises and other challenges.
I listened to this book as an audiobook and I really liked the production. The narrator did a really great job.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I almost DNF'd around the 25% mark, but then I realized I was the problem. After a little break from reading romance I came back and I'm glad I did. I loved the dynamic between Rafe and Trishara. It's a very one sided rivalry when we come into the story, but historically these two have been work rivals, mostly because Rafe was convinced that Tris hated him. Funnily enough, she never hated him - she just convinced herself that she did because feelings are scary. Watching them slowly become more vulnerable with each other was great. The examples of misogyny in the workplace/at this work conference felt a little heavy handed at times, but honestly so are men who behave like this so go off Nisha J. Tuli. I appreciated the way she sprinkled these instances throughout the story while also feeding us these little check in points of progression for Tris and Rafe. Kinda felt like getting to eat dessert after being forced to eat the carrots your mom overcooked, but way more satisfying.
I would recommend this one for folks who loved Shipped by Angie Hockman and wanted a little more from The Hating Game by Sally Thorne.

Whooooo. This was my first time reading a book by Nisha J. Tuli and I've definitely gone and added some more of her works on my TBR.
Workplace rivals to lovers? Love. Force proximity? Love. Strong woman in STEM? Love. Protective and Jealous MMC? Love.
If I have anything negative to say, I felt like the characters were just slightly too evolved as people to have the constant miscommunications they did - but they did keep the story moving and it did make the love all the sweeter as it grew. All in all, the banter between Trish and Rafe kept me entertained, especially listening to the story. Their chemistry kept me waiting for that spark to light and the ending left me so happy for them.
Thank you to Net Galley, Hachette Audio, and Nisha J. Tuli for an ALC of this story.

What a frustratingly fun read! The nemesis-to-lovers reopening one I’ve read much of in novel format (graphic novel, yes) but I thoroughly enjoyed it! The back and forth and flirting was a perfect balance to build to the final arc. The competitiveness was so amusing. I was also pleased with the work place conflict resolution with others in the office. The issues of sexism, racism, etc. are far too prevalent in the workforce and I loved how Trishara handled the situations that arose. Very inspiring, to say the least.
The narrator did a fantastic job! Soneela Nankani brought the characters and their emotions to life and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Thank you NetGalley and Hatchette Audio for the early copy of this book!
I appreciate the subject matter of women, especially BIPOC, in stem and the roadblocks they encounter in the workplace but the actual story fell flat for me. The FMC, Trish, is frustrated by her glass ceiling but also doesn't seem to deserve a leading position to begin with, as she's extremely immature and unprofessional. I think she was supposed to come off as an intelligent, strong, woman trying to fight her way through the glass ceiling but she just comes off as whiny, childish, and desperate which wasn’t fun to witness. I finally gave up at 71%.. I kept wanting it to be better but honestly if this wasn’t gifted for an honest review I would’ve DNF’d much sooner. From reviews I've read with similar interpretations I feel confident that it doesn't get better.
Trishara and Rafe are work place “enemies”. She’s been burned before from a workplace romance and he’s the boss’ son in a male led business. Cue the misogyny… they are chosen to go on a work trip together and shocker… the reservation was messed up and they have to share a room. I guess they don’t have an HR department in this company because WHAT?! Anyway…
I imagine Trish just staring at Rafe like a creep for 60% of her days and eavesdropping on his every conversation while claiming voraciously to hate him. Stalker vibes but not in a fun, dark romance way. Rafe.. aside from his Superman adjacent looks, I can’t imagine why anyone would be so obsessed with him he does the bare minimum and most of what comes out of his mouth is cringe. He doesn’t even have to try!
They’re both actually very cringe for totally different reasons. I had secondhand embarrassment listening to Trish every time she spoke or had a thought.
The plot wasn’t bad and this had the makings of a descent book but the characters just weren’t very likable and weren't clearly developed.

This was a really great “enemies” to lovers. And no third act break-up. Also, he falls first and harder, but she may have always had a little crush. I really appreciate the topics covered in this book and I think they were approached well.

The 2 stars is the best I got here. I had to DNF at 56% this is not for me.
I will caveat and say the audio narration gets 4/5 stars. It’s not the narrators fault this was a flop with me.
The two main characters are too old to be THIS emotionally unintelligent. And I’m not into an entire book of miscommunication. The premise of office politics and misogyny sounded so intriguing especially with the current climate but this book fell flat for that with me.
Thank you NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the ALC in exchange for my review.

This was my first book by Nisha J. Tuli but I’ve had others on my TBR for a while so I was excited to dive into this one. I loved the humor and banter in this book! Nisha did a great job with the snark for sure. The romantic tension between the characters was so intense and it was definitely a SLOW BURN. If super slow burn is your jam, you'll love this one! I appreciated the perspective of a woman of color and the challenges they face in the workplace.

I was excited to get this ALC but unfortunately it fell flat for me, both MMC were just a little meh to me. I felt their ages should have been younger with the way they acted. There were so many parts where I was left thinking man why isn’t he telling his ex off. Rafes actions definitely would not fly with me lol parts of the plot felt a bit rushed or underdeveloped, and some character motivations could have used more depth. It’s entertaining and quick to get through, but it didn’t quite leave a lasting impression.
Thanks to NetGalley & Hachette Audio for the ALC

Thank you so so much Hachette Audio | Forever Publishing , Nisha J Tuli and Netgalley for this wonderful ALC 💜

3 stars is being generous. This is described by the author in the beginning as a "enemies to lovers slow burn". This book is NOT a slow burn nor a enemies to lovers, more like denial of attraction. The FMC was very annoying and masochistic. She clearly liked the MMC since day one but used every excuse she had to deny it. Enemies to lovers is when characters are truly enemies and begin to have feelings after trials of some sort. In this book its evident to everyone even the 2 main characters that they like each other. The work trip seemed like just an excuse for the author to isolate the characters and abuse the one bed trope. As a avid romance lover this seemed poorly executed, and like the book was centered around being a slow burn without knowing how to properly pace and build towards said slow burn.

There is nothing quite like discovering that a coworker you once disliked might actually be "the one," especially during a work retreat on a Hawaiian island. First of all, I really appreciated the representation of women in this story. Tish, who works in a STEM medicine role, continuously fights for her place in the workplace and stands her ground throughout the entire book. I loved the intense tension and banter between Tish and Rafe. The addition of a tropical storm, which forced Rafe to protect Tish, was a perfect touch. However, I did feel that the romance progressed a bit too slowly for my liking, as I found myself on the edge of my seat, eagerly waiting for Tish and Rafe to take action for over half the book. Overall, this is a sweet enemies-to-lovers romance set in close proximity! Also, the narrator Soneela Nankani did an excellent job narrating for the audiobook.
Thank you to NetGallery and to both Hachette Audio | Forever and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) | Forever for my copy.

This was my first read by Nisha and she did delivered!!
This book was a great rom-com that touched on hard topics like unfair treatment of women in STEM while graciously delivering a good time.
Characters had A LOT of chemistry, banter, tension with a great story plot. It portrays both main characters going on a work conference and having to share a room with only one bed.
Soneela Nankani did a fantastic job narrating this book, she performed both characters voices to perfection while keeping a nice flow to through them.
Thanks to NetGalley and Hachette Audio for allowing me to listen to this ALC.

3.75! Nisha has successful gone from Romantasy writer to Romcom writer! This book was so fun and good on audio!
There is a good balance of spice, banter and barbs, humor, love, and serious topics. This is a workplace, rivals to lovers, set at a work conference in Hawaii, forced proximity, ONLY ONE BED, he comforts her during a storm, & more type of book.
Nisha balances this with topics of Women in STEM, unfair treatment of women, especially women of color, in the workplace. Misogyny, micro aggressions, racism, sexism and more are all addressed and handled well.
Tris is our strong willed, smart, and funny FMC who is willing to burn the world to advocate for herself. Rafe is her rival co worker she’s (always, yes ALWAYS) been attracted to. He’s a 12/10 with gorgeous forearms. When they’re at a work conference together and forced to share a room, anything could happen 😏 and maybe they’ll finally begin to thaw towards each other!
I personally, wished for a little more depth and connection, between the MCs. And a lot of Tris’ internal monologue was just her lusting after Rafe lol.
I enjoyed the audio narration and thought it made the story quick and funny!
