Thank you NetGalley, HachetteAudio and the wonderful author Nisha J. Tuli for this audio ARC of Not Safe for Work!
I loved this so much! The writing was so much fun, easy to read, and super fast paced! The audio itself was great. I can be picky when it comes to narrators but I absolutely loved it!
Engineer Trishara gets unexpectedly chosen to go on a corporate leadership retreat - but unfortunately for her, her work nemesis and the man who got the promotion she wanted, is there with her. And... they have to share a room.
Watching Tris get to really know Rafe, the kind of person he truly is, and the things that he values is such a fun ride. Their love story is very fun and very spicy.
It was such a realistic look into what it's like to be a woman of colour in a career dominated by white cis men. The kind of things that Tris faces are enraging, they'll have your blood boiling. Some events had me yelling at my phone.
Highly recommend!! 5 stars

NOT SAFE FOR WORK - NISHA J TULI

Trishara Malik a woman working in STEM for years has dealt with white male privilege and blatant nepotism esp when her hard earned promotion goes to her nemesis Rafe Gallagher the boss's son.
But when she gets a chance to attend a corporate leadership retreat in Hawaii it's a chance for her to revive her stalled career and compete for a covered spot but she will have to not only compete with Rafe but also share a honeymoon suite due to a booking error. But spending time Trisha realises that Rafe is not the villan and has to deal with his own demons. Can Trisha learn to trust the man who might have been standing in her corner all along?

To a work place romance and enemies to lovers troupe if you add in a tropical island setting and a strong women in STEM rep it is for sure a recipe for a great book!
Not safe for Work delivers just that and author Nisha has become a new favourite for me.
The representation of Trishara ...her character development was fantastic..her one liners and the best of all the final Email ( IYKYK) - EPIC!!
and add to it the chemistry 🔥🔥
The audiobook narrated by Soneela Nankani did a fab job in getting both characters come to life!

Nisha’s debut contemporary romance is funny, sexy, and deeply healing. I felt profoundly seen by the words she’s written. The way she unapologetically highlights the microaggressions so many women of color experience in STEM — particularly in engineering — is powerful and achingly real. It means more than I can express to read a story that doesn’t gloss over these truths but instead honors the everyday challenges so many of us face.
The audiobook was very well done! The narration was perfect - sassy but with plenty of tension!
The romance is a classic “competitors-to-friends-to-lovers” arc, and it absolutely delivers. I adored the yearning and tension woven throughout. If you're in the mood for a rom-com with heart, heat, and meaningful representation, this one’s for you.

This audiobook was one of the best I’ve listened to that only had one narrator all through out.
This book was more of a romance comedy to me with spice!! Which I loooved.
Trishara and Refe classic enemies to lovers. The banter between them made this such an easy listen. I love that Refe was so willing to be vulnerable with Tris and was always looking out for her even when she was unaware. Also a man that can bake?! Hubbba hubbaa.
Tris and Refe make the ultimate power couple and I’m glad they both followed their dreams in the end.

Thank you to NetGalley, Forever and Hachette Audio for an ARC & ALC of this book!
I’ve always wanted to read a book by Nisha J. Tuli, but since I’m not the biggest fantasy girly, nothing had really grabbed me, until now! The moment I heard she was releasing her first contemporary romance, I knew I had to dive in.
Not Safe for Work follows Trishara, a fierce engineer navigating a male-dominated workplace who is also battling burnout. She ends up being nominated for a company retreat to Hawaii, which gives her a much needed breath of fresh air. The tiny catch? Her workplace nemesis just so happens to be there too, Rafe, the boss’s son.
But here’s the twist: they’re competing for the same promotion, and suddenly… it’s not so easy for Trishara to hate him. As she starts to see a different side of Rafe, things get complicated and maybe even a little steamy.
I really liked this book! I’m a total sucker for a workplace enemies-to-lovers storyline, and Trishara was such a strong, badass main character. My only wish? That it had been dual POV! I feel like Rafe had a whole backstory we only got glimpses of through Trishara’s lens, so I didn’t feel super connected to him. Still, I absolutely adored their slow-burn romance and once the spice kicked in? It delivered.
Also, big shoutout to Nisha for highlighting the struggles women face in corporate spaces, it felt so real and validating.
I also listened to the audiobook and loved the narrator! Sonalee Nankani brought Trishara to life in such a fun and vibrant way. It made the whole experience even better.
If you love rom-coms with a side of social commentary and sizzling tension, this one’s for you. And now? I’m officially intrigued by Nisha’s fantasy books too!

Im bored and not invested in these characters or plot. Also not loving the narrator, every sentence has a question mark or an incredulous tone when its not necessary. Overall fine just not for me
Thanks to Netgalley and Hachette Audio for a review copy of this audiobook--all opinions my own!

I dnf’d about an hour and a half into the audiobook. I just wasn’t enjoying the writing style. This is my first book by this author maybe the writing style isn’t for me

Rating: 4.75 stars
Not Safe for Work by Nisha J. Tuli is a fun, enemies-to-lovers workplace romance with just the right mix of tension, banter, and heart. Trishara is still carrying baggage from a past office relationship gone wrong, so when she ends up on a work retreat in Hawaii and stuck in close proximity to Rafe, the guy she’s supposed to hate, it sets up the perfect slow-burn romance. I loved the way her feelings evolved and how the story handled that emotional push and pull.
The pacing was great as there were no slow parts, and I stayed hooked the entire time. I really liked the yearning between the characters, and the spice level was spot on—not too much, not too little, just enough to keep things interesting. I could totally picture this playing out as a movie in my head.
My only small critique is that the characters asked each other “Are you okay?” so many times—it made sense in context, but once I noticed it, I couldn’t un-hear it.
I listened to the audiobook through NetGalley and thought the narrator was amazing. Her voice really worked for the story and she handled different characters so well. I’d 100% listen to other books she narrates.
Overall, this was such a fun, emotionally satisfying read/listen. Definitely recommend if you’re into workplace romance, forced proximity, or slow-burn tension done right.

I made it 54% of the way through this book before deciding it wasn’t for me. It was a slow start, and the main characters seemed a little stalkerish at first, but I kept listening. I shouldn’t have. It only got worse. It was a boring storyline that just wouldn’t develop into anything interesting. It was giving creepy vibes similar to The Hating Game. Just not the right book for me. Not Safe for Work is the wrong title for this book. If it was given a different title, I believe it would attract more readers.

This was so much fun! I LOVED the banter and chemistry between Trisha’s and Rafe. This was my introduction to Nisha J. Tuli’s writing and I enjoyed it so much that it has me curious about their fantasy books - a genre that I very rarely dabble in. I listed to the audiobook and loved Soneela Nankani’s narration. (If Soneela narrates it, I want to listen to it.)
Not Safe for Work is a workplace rom-com that had its occasionally over the top moments, and it worked for me. The banter between Trishara and Rafe was snappy, snarky, and - when those pesky feelings of imposter syndrome reared their heads - sometimes a little mean. However, these characters take the necessary steps back, evaluate their mistakes, take accountability, and apologize when they need to. A GROWN UP romance! Trishara and Rafe had really great chemistry and boatloads of tension. This slow burn romance was really well done. I wanted to smash these MCs faces together so they would just get it over with and kiss already. I did find Rafe’s secret pastry content creator storyline a little unbelievable. How exactly does one hide their social media clout if they have thousands of followers and livestream all the time?
Also, that final middle finger Trishara gives to her employers? Priceless.

Really enjoyed this book. The audiobook was also well done.the story was fun and a good work romance.

This was a cute, fun listen. I haven't heard this narrator before, but she was great and I will definitely will be checking out more by her. As far as the story goes, it had all of the best tropes in it! Enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, only one bed... I enjoyed watching Tris regain her confidence in what she had to offer, in a world where women have to work twice as hard and still get overlooked. "Whistle mouth" (IYKYK) drove me insane, I still don't get what crawled into her bonnet. For Rafe, it was good to watch him have some growth. All around, they were a cute and fun couple to see the story of.

Witty, sexy, and so much fun!! Nisha's debut contemporary romance proves just how great a writer she is. NSFW has her trademark sassy FMC who knows her worth, and the MMC who worships her for it. Highly recommend!

Thank you NetGalley for the audio version. A very cute enemies to lovers spicy romance. It does deal with some serious invasions of privacy and sexual harassment.

this was a good book and romance, and only a few misunderstandings for conflict that were not too unrealistic! I liked the lead characters a lot

I DEVOURED THIS BOOK!
I am already a huge fan of Nisha J Tulis fantasy work but her crossover into romance did not skip a beat.
She wrote rivalry like no other! And the micro trope of “they’re rivals but he’s been silently supporting her the whole time” is top tier! 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠
Read this if you like:
✨Workplace rivalry
✨BIPOC women in STEM
✨forced to share a hotel room
✨fiesty banter
✨he falls first
✨slow burn to super spicy🥵
✨He has an extremely dirty mouth
✨toy play 😏
I could go on and on about how hot Rafe and Trishara were together. They did it everywhere and the whole “shhhh, we don’t want anyone to hear” moments had ME PANTING 😮💨
Also I thoroughly enjoyed Tris finding her voice and standing in to the toxic misogyny and racist microaggressions that played into the work retreat part of this book. It’s sad that these were so accurately portraying and I lived seeing her stand up for herself with the support of Rafe “if he wanted to he would” Gallagher.
Thank you to NetGalley, Hachette audio and Forever (grand publishing) for the eARC and ALC

Loved this book and love the audio as well! The narrator kept me engaged and I could not stop listening. Loved hearing the story between these two unfold!

If you’re expecting a fun, banter-filled office romcom, Not Safe For Work might not hit the mark. The story starts off unevenly. The female lead is more fixated on her attractive coworker than on the actual workplace tension, making the romance feel predictable and lacking buildup. Attempts to tackle sexism in STEM felt undermined by her focus on luxury perks over genuine respect. That said, things improve in the second half. The male lead, Rafe, is charming and surprisingly complex. Once the romance picks up, there’s satisfying slow-burn chemistry and a few strong emotional beats.
The plot itself isn’t groundbreaking, and the constant focus on Rafe’s looks got repetitive. Still, readers who enjoy closed-to-open door transitions, or slow-burn workplace dynamics might find it enjoyable. It’s not quite enemies-to-lovers, but the tropical setting and forced proximity add some fun.
The audio took time to settle into, but ended up being engaging with solid voice variation.
Overall, it's a mixed bag: enjoyable in parts, frustrating in others, with some standout moments for patient readers.

I absolutely loved Not Safe for Work. This was an easy 5 star romcom for me. I finished the audiobook in 4 days and would have probably finished it in two days or less if I didn't have adult responsibilities.
Nisha J. Tuli took a cute romcom & added depth & hard topics like diversity & women working in male dominated industries without making it feel too heavy. Her writing style was very entertaining to me, and the narrator, Soneela Nakani, did a fabulous job with all of the characters. I did listen on 1.25 speed, but that is pretty standard for me. I love a strong female lead character, and a possessive MMC is a must! The character development of both Trishara & Rafe was quite enjoyable to read/listen to. It is an audiobook I would listen to again! If you are looking for a rivals (wouldn't quite say enemies) to lovers, slow-burn with forced proximity, this is it!
I have not read/listened to Trial of the Sun Queen and did not realize that this was the same author until part of the way through the audiobook, but it will has made me 100x more excited to read the Artefacts of Ouranos series!
A big thank you to Netgalley & Hachette Audio for my VERY FIRST ALC. I was so excited to listen for free & provide honest feedback!

When you think “office rivalry romance” you probably think of stories like The Hating Game, but if you go into this book expecting a light and funny romcom, you’re probably going to be disappointed.
The story started off a bit rough for me. From the jump, our FMC is sickeningly obsessed with her male coworker. This made for very little tension and anticipation surrounding them and their impending relationship. There’s also several attempts early on to make a statement about the mistreatment of women in STEM, but the FMC cared more about getting her company to buy her first class plane tickets and expensive luggage than she did basic respect and workplace acknowledgement. I don’t think the material was easy to work with, but the narrator made everything sound condescending which also didn’t help.
I did think the story became more enjoyable as it progressed and I really liked the MMC. I thought he was well written and likable, though I could’ve done without the incessant detailing of the man’s forearms.
You may like this book if you enjoy contemporary, second-chance style romances, HEAs, or if you are a closed-door romance reader looking to test the waters of open-door. If you’re looking for that rivals-to-lovers banter and tension, or if you’re a seasoned spice reader, I’d probably advise skipping this one.
Thank you so much NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the ALC! All thoughts written above are my own.
