I really enjoyed this cute, somewhat spicy, workplace romance.
The audiobook flowed nicely and the narrator did an excellent job and was easy to listen to.
It was a quick and cute, including the themes of: enemies to lovers and forced proximity.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

I have heard nothing but incredible things about Nisha J. Tuli and Not Safe for Work, so needless to say it was one of my most anticipated reads of the year! I adored this book, loving its complex characters and their romance. Trishara is a force, and I loved how unapologetically herself she was, how she stood up to people who treated her poorly and advocated for herself. Rafe was SO swoony and sweet, I wanted to hug the poor guy the entire time. Such a fantastic enemies to lovers workplace romance! And don’t get me started on that steam 🔥🔥🔥

Love this, and I can’t wait to read what Nisha writes next!

Thank you NetGalley for the ALC!

This book is quintessential summer romance. It's giving workplace romance, it's giving enemies to lovers! The setup was so stinking cute, and our FMC is a woman in stem, which I am forced to stan.

Following our FMC through her career crisis, was so deeply relatable. Such a joy to see her get placed into this summer program and find what she wants. Our MMC had all the right elements of being aloof and mysterious to lovable and sweet. I really appreciate how this book is a whole novel about the "only one bed" trope!

Super fun read overall!

Nisha J. Tuli is the queen of witty banter and inner dialogue. Not Safe For Work is a wonderful romance between two people who love to hate each other. What I love about this story is the growth that Tris and Rafe developed over their time together. Rafe’s growth is directly correlated with Tris's. Tris’s growth, however, was all her own doing, and that is always a breath of fresh air.

Perfect for fans of Ali Hazelwood's steminist characters or Christina Lauren's tropical locations. Would recommend for anyone looking for their next beach read!

Super steamy flirting and banter between these two workplace rivals stuck together on a training retreat. Tris is your typical woman of color in a white male-dominated workforce, overlooked for many promotions, and losing out leadership positions to the boss’s son Rafe. She’s totally surprised when she’s selected to go on a training retreat in Maui, but irritated that she’s stuck traveling with her rival Rafe. Being forced to share a room might actually force them to call a truce though, and we get all sorts of angry flirting along the way. Once we get away from the taunting each other and get to the actual relationship-building, I loved this book, and loved how sweet Rafe actually was (and not the dude-bro persona he gives off). Audio narrator was excellent!

I absolutely loved this book. Enemies to lover never gets old and once you mix that with one bed and forced proximity you've reached the trifecta! I loved the characters, even the ones I wanted to throttle through the book were written well. I think that my favorite part and the real star of the story is the way that Trishara navigated her world and really stood up for herself. I liked the fact that the way that women are treated in corporate America was really highlighted. I also loved that her people were so supportive of her and making sure that she took care of herself. The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing this story to life!

5 stars for the *definitely* NSFW audiobook!!!

It was such an enjoyable listen working my way through a steamy workplace romance we all dream about during our single phase of life 😆 It had some of the best tropes that I love (forced proximity, slow burn, ONE BED!!!, and more).

Thank you Hatchette Audio and NetGalley for granting me the opportunity to be an advanced listener in exchange for an honest review!

I loved the narrator; it made me feel like I was in the story. Normally, I don't like slow burns, but I enjoyed this one. Once the spice started spicing, the writing was amazing. I found myself rooting for the FMC and glad she found her happy ending. 4.5 stars

I thought it was alright. 3 stars was just right. I liked it I’d probably not read it again. There was really nothing special in this book to make it stand out. It’s like every other new adult romance I’ve read in the last year.

I was interested in this romance because I enjoy enemies-to-lovers stories and I was especially interested because the FMC , was an engineer, so I thought she would be really interesting. Unfortunately, it didn't really feel like enemies-to-lovers because, while the FMC says she doesn't like the MMC, she spends more time before they get together describing how attractive he is than doing anything else. I guess they were enemies because she'd been treated poorly in the past and now she is projecting. When the FMC finds out she won this trip to Hawaii to advance her career, the first thing she does is go tell off her bosses in a seriously unprofessional manner. Overall, I found the main character to be shallow and unrealistic. Not Safe For Work is touted as 'Romance' but I think it should also be labeled, 'New Adult'. I did really like the narrator. Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in return for my honest opinion.

i absolutely loved this! Nisha J Tuli has written an incredible contemporary romance, and I am so impressed. I really loved the dynamic between Trishara and Rafe. (I absolutely eat up and workplace rivals plot.) I also found it really refreshing that the trip lasted three weeks, as often these vacation romances are insta love. It also was refreshing that neither trishara or Rafe did anything cruel prior to the beginning of the book, and made it that much more enjoyable.

Additionally, I always loved a book narrated by Soneela Nankani. She does such a fantastic job, across multiple genres.

Definitely will read another contemporary romance by Nisha J Tuli!

Cute cute cute!
Trishara is funny, smart and sassy and I love a good sassy FMC. Rafe is kind and smart and sassy and we love that about him.
Plot wise, it's cute and tropey, two rivals are always competing for the same assignments and promotions at work, but Rafe has nepotism and sexism on his side. They get stuck on a work trip together and can't seem to escape each other and it's adorable and fun and spicy.
Trishara and Rafe each have their own issues to deal with, but they work through them together.
This book is great for someone looking for a quick/feel good book. The writing is great, the audiobook is fantastic and it's just easy to get sucked into the story.
It gives Ali Hazelwood vibes but better.

I think I’m in love with Trishara! I don’t know what that says about me, but I’m obsessed. She stood up for herself from the very first moment to the very last page and did it all with style. As a female engineer, I could relate to so much of what she went through. This field isn’t easy for women, and we’re often underestimated, but seeing Tris put everyone in their place was so satisfying. She’s my hero.

As for Rafe, I would’ve loved him even more if he had stood up for himself sooner and ended things more clearly with his ex, that would’ve spared us some unnecessary drama. Still, he was cool and I really liked him.

The one thing I truly felt was missing was Rafe’s POV. I kept wishing we could get inside his head; if we had that, the book would’ve been perfect.

I got the chance to listen to the audiobook early, and I loved it! The narrator was incredible, she really brought the story to life.

Thank you, Hachette Audio and NetGalley, for the early audiobook copy!

THIS BOOK!!! I was graced with an ALC and it did not disappoint. First of all, this book has the trigger warnings laid out and really let you know the deeper things that would be brough up, which some authors overlook. I really was grabbed within the first few pages, and I could not put this book down. Like WOW. The first time I read anything by Nisha J. Tuli it was a fantasy series, and now I'm reading a romance, and both were so well done. She has bumped up to an automatic buy author.

This story was just so well done, the enemies to lovers within a workplace setting was just so well done. I loved the banter between the MCs. I also loved that this book showed people having to deal with white male privilege and blatant nepotism. The sexism was show in such a way that it was real life depiction. I cannot say enough about this book.

Now for the narration, Soneela Nankani did an amazing job bringing this book to life. I was sucked in by her narration and couldn't put this book down. 10/10.

★★★★☆

Whew! This book delivered a tension-filled, steamy, sexy rivals-to-lovers romance with a heavy dose of forced proximity and, yes, ONE BED AT THE INN PEOPLE 👏🏻 (okay, technically a five-star hotel suite, but still).

Trish, our FMC, is feeling discouraged after five years at WMC. She’s been passed over for promotions and has had to navigate more than her share of sketchy coworkers. But when she’s invited to a three-week corporate leadership retreat in Hawaii with a shot at joining the executive leadership program, things start to look up.

Then comes the twist: her boss’s son, Rafe Gallagher, is on her flight… and somehow, they end up double-booked in the same honeymoon suite. With no other rooms available, forced proximity kicks in. And when Rafe starts getting protective after another employee hits on her? Cue the what is happening?! energy.

I loved the chemistry between Trish and Rafe. Their slow-burn tension was 🥵. Soneela Nankani’s narration was a perfect match for the story—smooth, emotionally attuned, and just the right tone to draw me in even further.

Many thanks to Hachette Audio and NetGalley for the advanced audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

It was a good listen. I don't know if I'll read it again though. I liked it! It was fun, medium paced and swoon-worthy. I didn't really identify with either MC's, but I know that others will. It dealt with heavy topics, such as; discrimination in the workplace, sexual harassment in the workplace, and being a BIPOC woman in a male dominated work field. Although it dealt with such heavy topics, it was still light and a fun romance. I enjoyed the characters and cared about what happens to them. (I've DNF'ed books because, I just didn't care about the characters...) I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I know others will too!

I love a boss girl FMC who works in STEM; this book did not disappoint! I could feel my blood boiling at some points in this book, listening to how the men in her field treated her.

Great pacing. There were no times in the book when I lost interest or felt my mind wandering to the mile-long to-do list that I ignored to read this book. I'm a sucker for the #onlyonebed troupe and Nisha let that bed buuuurrrn.

4.5 Stars. It would have been 5 stars for me if the Hannah situationship had been dissolved a little earlier in the book....

Steamy rivals to lovers work-place romance between two engineers on a leadership retreat in Hawaii! And of course, they accidentally end up stuck in the same suite with only one bed...

Not Safe for Work follows Trishara, a jaded engineer who once believed she would do great things as a woman of color in a male dominated field, but has been passed up for many promotions over the years in liu of the the bosses far too attractive son Rafe. When they're both picked to attend a leadership retreat, she figures out it's because the firm is facing criticism for a lack of diversity. *shocker*

This starts out as a very physical attraction first sort of thing, but eventually it gets deeper emotionally as the week goes on. Trishara is fed up and makes a lot of very reckless decisions, which was sometimes stressful as a reader! But it's a romance and things ultimately work out. I liked the representation of a woman of color in a STEM field and how it shows the misogyny, racism, and sometimes sexual harassment that can be experienced by women in these fields. I think a lot of people would enjoy it! The audio narration is good and you definitely get a sense of the main characters personality. I received an audio review copy via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.
