Such a cute work place enemies to lovers. I absolutely loved reading this and could not put it down.

I don’t normally gravitate towards romantic comedy but I absolutely loved book.
Trishara is such a brilliant character I loved her so much and how she stood up for herself. Rafe, omg rafe was absolutely perfect.
The tension between these 2 had me kicking my feet the whole time! I will definitely recommend this book to overs!

My first ever Nisha J. Tuli book and I was super excited to listen as my Artefacts of Ouranos series has been giving me the side eye since I haven’t cracked them open yet.
This was such a fun read! There’s plenty of banter & rivalry between the MC’s as they both compete during a leadership retreat in Maui. Forced to share a hotel room, the pair get to know one each other outside the office and start to see each other in a whole other light. Trishsara is finally able to be herself and prove she deserves the promotion despite the male toxicity in the office that has held her back for years. Rafe, the bosses son, begrudgingly takes part in the retreat but this might be the push they both need to carve their path forward.
This is a slow burn, but when it burns, it’s on FIRE 🔥 🔥 🔥

Thank you to NetGalley & Hachette Audio for providing an ALC of the audiobook to review. Soneela Nankani did an amazing job bringing the characters to life!

In this tropical workplace romcom, engineer Trishara Malik is forced to share a honeymoon suite with her office nemesis, Rafe Gallagher, during a high-stakes leadership retreat in Hawaii. As they compete for a coveted promotion, their rivalry begins to blur with unexpected chemistry—and Tris must decide if Rafe is truly the enemy or something more.
The audiobook narration was excellent and really helped set the tone for the story. The book starts off strong with fun The Hating Game vibes—lighthearted and tropey in an enjoyable way. It’s packed with classic romance tropes (enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, one-bed), some of which hit the mark more than others. I did find myself wishing the one-bed scenario had been better developed for more tension or payoff.
While the setup was promising, the story started to lose its spark for me as it progressed. The writing veered into cheesy territory at times—especially the MMC’s dialogue, which made me visibly cringe more than once. Rafe felt underdeveloped and flat, and I struggled to connect with him as a romantic interest. Tris’s insecurities were relatable early on, but eventually became repetitive and weighed the story down.
The miscommunication trope also played a role in dragging things out unnecessarily, and the dynamic between the leads felt a bit immature for characters supposedly nearing thirty—it gave more middle-school drama than adult romcom.
Overall, Not Safe for Work had a great premise and solid narration, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. It was an okay read for me, though I’m sure fans of trope-heavy romance will still find plenty to enjoy.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

I love a good enemies-to-lovers book, and this book did not disappoint. It is about two workplace rivals, Trishara Malik and Rafe Gallagher, who find themselves sharing a honeymoon suite at a company retreat in Hawaii due to a mix-up. Despite their history of competition, Tris begins to see Rafe in a new light, and their relationship develops into something more.
I love that some of the struggles women go through in the workplace were included. It made Tris relatable.
There is some miscommunication in the book, which I don’t love, but I was still able to enjoy the story.
The pacing of the story was perfect, and the narrator did a great job with both characters voices. I definitely recommend you check out this book!
Thank you Hachette Audio and NetGalley for the ALC!

This is an ARC review. I want to thank Nisha J. Tuli and Hachette Audio for allowing me the chance to listen to the audiobook ahead of release day! I immediately fell in love with the premise of the main character being a person of color in a male dominated field. The narrator gives a great flair into her reading and it really makes it a great easy book to listen to.
This book overall provides all the sexual tension and banter at its peak finest. It gives the push and pull or the love interests. It provides the spice level of a bomb once Trishara and Rafe get past their PG level intimacy. I truly fell in love with both characters and also started to beef with a few side characters on how they were treating my new bestie Tris. The moment I began to love both characters and dislike with a thousand suns others, I knew it would be easily a 5 star read!

This is my first time experiencing the work of Nisha J. Tuli and I've got to say, I will look for more of her work!
We follow Tris who has been overlooked and every opportunity to advance her career and she starting to loose some hope. When she is selected for a company event along with her rival Rafe, she decides that she'll make the most of what she wants to be an impromptu vacation on company dime. However, she slowly starts to see Rafe as more than her infuriating competition, but she's been burned before and doesn't trust him or herself for what seems to be a budding romance.
I felt that the book was good.
Tris' struggles as a woman of color in STEM is relatable to most in her position and these moments of how she dealt with the microaggression and misogyny could make ones blood boil.
While I did enjoy the progression of the romance between Tris and Rafe there were time where the 2 would act so juvenile. Also, I understand that Tris is experiencing some trust issues based on a previous relationship but when she takes 2 steps forward she almost immediately takes 10 steps back for almost all the book which has her a little frustrating as a reader. But despite this I did thoroughly enjoy the book.
The audiobook narration was phenomenal!

Imagine getting selected to go on a work retreat and arriving to the hotel to find you have to share a room with your rival coworker, even worse.. there's only one bed...
When I tell you I am OBSESSED with this book, I mean it. I have really been into romcom's lately and this is definitely going towards the top of my list. I found the MCs to be entertaining and they certainly had A LOT of chemistry. Rafe is the ultimate book boyfriend, always willing to talk and explain any miscommunication between them. AND he's a secret culinary mastermind baker. It's no surprise Trishara found herself falling in love with him, because I did too.
This is the perfect romcom if you love rivals to lovers AND a good slow burn romance.

Thank you to Hatchett Audio and Netgalley for an ALC of this. I'm looking forward to picking up the book on release day!

Not Safe For Work by Nisha J. Tuli is a total vibe, flirty, and full of chemistry. If you love workplace romances with strong, ambitious leads and just the right amount of spice, this one’s for you.
From the first chapter, I was hooked on the banter and slow-burn tension. The FMC is smart, driven, and refreshingly bold, and the dynamic between her and her love interest had me smiling. It’s got all the charm of a classic rom-com with an extra dose of empowerment.
Now let’s talk about the audiobook. Soneela Nankani nailed the narration. Her voice brought so much personality and depth to the characters. I loved her performance and can’t wait to check out more of her work.
It’s a solid 4 stars from me. A few moments felt a bit predictable, but overall this was a fast-paced, fun listen. Perfect for fans of office romances.

The audiobook narrator was perfect for this book and did a wonderful job. I very much enjoyed listening to this audiobook.
I will never get over how well Nisha can just pull you right into a book. This was one of the cutest, tension packed, and perfect for a movie, RomCom books. Did I tear up at the ending? I sure did!
I loved that the female main character was an engineer, and navigating that world of women in STEM. I am a woman in the engineering world and deeply related to those aspects of the book.
The tension between Tris and Rafe was so freaking good and had me laughing, kicking my feet and unable to put down the book because I needed to know what was going to happen next.
Workplace romance with high competition (rivals in the workplace), tension, an MMC who definitely knows how to speak his mind. Im going to be gushing about this book for a long time.
Also publishing gods if you’re listening this would make for the cutest movie ever!
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

Rating 4.5 stars
I am not a romance girlie much but I loved this. I loved the rivals to lovers aspect, the semi slow burn, the spice. I loved the end. There is so much more but I don’t want to give away too much.
Definitely a fun read.

Enemies to lovers
Forced proximity
Workplace romance
Overall this was not a bad book. It was OK and I think it had the potential to be more but for me personally the enemies to lovers was dragging on a little too much and started to feel repetitive.
My favorite part of the story was honestly when Trish stood up for herself and her career!
I listened to this on audio and my ears were very happy with the female narration! Not a single complaint- 5/5 for narration! 🎧

This was my first Nisha J. Tuli book, and I loved it!
Pub Date: 5/20/25
The story follows Trishara, who works in a male-dominated field. There is definitely some he-man-woman haters’ club vibe in the office. Starting with her rival, the boss’s son, Rafe. Well, naturally, they get picked for a company-wide building team retreat… at a tropical resort… 🤭 but things and people aren’t what Trishara thought they were.
I enjoyed the tension between the two characters. I enjoyed their story. I enjoyed the spice. Soneela Nankani was fantastic as a narrator! She conveyed all the emotions! Highly recommend!
Thank you, Nisha J. Tuli, Hachette Audio, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the audiobook!

Where can I sign up for more? I loved this audiobook. I love a good quasi enemies to lovers trope full of sassy banter. Add in a bit of main character badassery and I was sold! a great beach or pool side read/listen!

RAFE MF GALLAGHER EVERYONE O M G!!!!!
Absolute 5 star banger right here, I devoured the crap out of this audiobook. I loved everything about these Trish and Rafe but then again, who doesn't love a good workplace rivals to lovers romance???
One of my favorite things was seeing the chronic pain rep in Trishara with her chronic migraines. As someone that experiences migraines, the way Nisha describes the onset migraines hitting Trish were so relatable I almost felt the pain throughout the book.
The narrator did a really good job with this audiobook, the way she told this story really helped me capture all the moments, big and small, and made me want to never press the pause button.
Thank you again Forever for the alc I had an amazing time 🫶🏼

This was such a fun, chaotic ride! Tris and Rafe’s “hate” felt a little forced (girl, you’re definitely noticing his abs too much for enemies), and some parts were a bit immature but honestly, I didn’t even mind. The Hawaii setting, the banter, and the ridiculous honeymoon suite mixup kept me laughing and fully entertained. Perfect if you want a romcom with swoony vibes and a little bit of chaos!
Thank you netgalley for the arc💗

I was thrilled to receive the audiobook for Not Safe for Work by Nisha J. Tuli, my first experience with the author’s work. The premise—an office enemies-to-lovers story with forced proximity—immediately drew me in. The novel delivers cute, heartfelt moments while thoughtfully exploring challenges women face in male-dominated corporate environments.
Trishara and Rafe, rival colleagues, are thrust together on a corporate leadership retreat in Hawaii. Trishara resents Rafe, viewing him as a privileged “nepo-baby” who coasted into a role she feels she earned through hard work. However, as circumstances force them to collaborate, their dynamic shifts. Through teamwork and unexpected vulnerability, Trishara begins to see Rafe in a new light—one that complicates her initial disdain.
While I enjoyed their banter and the tropical romantic backdrop, the insta-lust trope felt rushed. That said, their chemistry evolves convincingly, balancing tension with tender growth. The story’s strength lies in its relatable portrayal of workplace sexism and ambition, making Trishara’s struggles resonate deeply.
The audiobook narration enhanced the experience, bringing the characters’ wit and emotions to life. Fans of workplace romances with forced proximity, tropical settings, and nuanced commentary on gender dynamics will appreciate this breezy yet meaningful read. Despite minor pacing quibbles, Not Safe for Work is a charming escape with substance—perfect for a weekend listen.

Not Safe for Work is a standalone rivals to lovers workplace romance by BIPOC author Nisha J. Tuli. This book releases May 25th.
Being a woman of color in the engineering world is not for the faint of heart. This is a lesson Trishara Malik has learned the hard way. After a prior workplace romance gone bad, and years of being overlooked for promotions, Tris was at the end of her rope, until she was picked to attend a 3-week long leadership retreat in Hawaii. The only catch…her work rival and the boss’s son, Rafe Gallagher would be going with her.
But the hotel was huge and the training would have people attending from around the country. Surely she wouldn’t have to spend much time with him, outside of mandatory work functions, right? Unfortunately, the universe had other plans, when they arrived at the hotel and due to a booking error and a busy travel season, Tris and Rafe would be forced to share a room. And not just any room…the Honeymoon Suite!
When you read Not Safe for Work, you can expect:
- New Adult/Contemporary romance
- Workplace romance
- Enemies to lovers
- Feminine rage
- Forced proximity
- One bed
- Slow burn
- Misogyny and sexual harassment
- Women in STEM
First let me just say, Tris is my role model! After years of “playing the game” in corporate America, girlfriend has had ENOUGH! She stands up to anyone/everyone. She speaks her mind and doesn’t hold back, especially when she feels that she or someone else has been wronged. Plus, she is a badass STEM goddess and hot to boot. I want to be her when I grow up.
Second, could Rafe be more swoon-worthy? He is tall, and buff, he wears a suit, and the man can BAKE!
Be prepare that this one is a sloooooow burn, but once that spice starts to hit, it is HOT. The banter was also top notch. The MMC has smirks for days. ;-)
And I would be remiss if I didn’t commend Soneela Nankani for her amazing narration. If you listened to the audiobooks for Trial of the Sun Queen, you’ll recognize Soneela’s voice. And not only is the author and the FMC BIPOC, but so is the narrator! This was perfect, as the voice matched Tris’s character and added authenticity to the performance. Also, Soneela is another female narrator whose MMC voice is pure fire!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Nisha J. Tuli for the opportunity to listen and review this advanced listener copy!

I started this book after work and physically could not put it down until I finished it.
🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tris is an engineer struggling to compete in a male dominated career field, and she believes her nemesis is just like the rest of them. When Rafe, her boss’s annoyingly hot son, is selected to attend the company’s first leadership retreat, no one is surprised. What is surprising though is that Tris is selected too, and three weeks in Hawaii with Rafe?? 👏🏻👏🏻
Tris’s inner monoglot is throughout this book is HILARIOUS, I was genuinely laughing out loud 😂 The obsession this girl has with Rafe is next level! Nisha does an incredible job of showing how women are treated in corporate America, and even more so in the STEM world. Sadly, some of the things she included have actually happened to me in real life and MANY it made this book so relatable! I DEVOURED this book, I was lucky enough to receive an ALC, and Soneela Nankani did an incredible job narrating. The emotion she brings to these characters brought the story to life, it was so easy to listen to. I highly recommend this book, it releases May 20th and it’s got some top tier tropes:
🌴 One bed!!!!
🌴 Forced proximity
🌴 Rivals to lovers

ARC REVIEW:
this was cute but some of the back and forth with the MC’s felt like whiplash with the push and pull. One second they were whispering wants and then the next it was like a toddler having a tantrum. I did like the MMC a lot but I would have liked more character development from him - seemed like he was just very flat even tho he had this secret influencer life on the side while also being a full blown engineer. The spice was good tho!
