Jade has been guarding her heart from
Sebastian for a long time. After dealing with childhood trauma, Jade is scared to let anyone in…that is until Sebastian comes along. I won’t give spoilers but throw in a shady boss amongst others and you have a great story.

Kathleen Fuller may be best known for her Amish romance, but personally, it's her contemporary romance that have made me a fan... and this one is a prime example as to why. Centered around a smalltown newspaper in the mid-2000s, this one had all the small-town charm that I absolutely adore... and I found that newspaper aspect to be a really interesting one as well. Sebastion and Jade had their first chance at love ten years earlier... but, well, things just didn't work out. Ten years later, they're reunited when her boss sends her to his small newspaper to try and buy him out... something he has absolutely no interest in doing. As they spend more time together and get to know each other again (and learned things from their pasts that hadn't been shared before), it seems like perhaps those old feelings are making a return. Second chance romances are some of my favorites, and I thought this one was done really well. I loved seeing their growth throughout the story, allowing them to truly get that happily ever after after all that time--- though there are certainly some challenges along the way. The side characters added a lot to this story as well, and I loved seeing their stories and growth as well. If you enjoy Christian romance with small town charm, this is certainly one to check out.
**ARC received via Netgalley for consideration. All opinions are my own.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

BEHIND ENEMY BYLINES by KATHLEEN FULLER is a most enjoyable romance novel, with an assortment of interesting characters, that takes place in the small town of Clementine and revolves around The Clementine Times, its future and the people who work there. Sebastian Hudson is the owner, editor and publisher and is determined to honour his benefactor and father figure, Buford Wilson, by running the paper the same way he did.
When Jade Smith, who broke his heart ten years ago, is sent by her boss to encourage Seb to sell to him, things get really interesting…….
Add to the mix a spoilt trust fund kid who is sent to Clemetine by her father in order to grow up, and ends up on a newspaper route in the mountains and feeding pigs at her stepmother’s, a spring hoedown, a betrayal, the arrival of Jade’s foster brother which forces her to come clean about her past and take stock of her behaviour, and much more, and you have a really entertaining read!
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely ny own.

This story mixed the small-town romance I love with journalism careers and everything that goes along with the media industry. I graduated with a degree in the field in the late 1990s, so reading this story was intriguing and familiar. I was hooked. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
