A very short introduction to Axolotls for younger readers. It goes into the basics of their amazing healing abilities, habitat concerns, and some great close up pictures. This would not be enough for a full report, but as a first glance book it does well. The text is straightforward and sentences short. I will say it is missing the more colorful examples of axolotls so some children used to the pink ones might be disappointed, but the photographs are high quality.

I am a huge fan of books that can teach children about animals and do it in a way that is simple and digestible. The chapters in this little book are only a few sentences at most and yet still manage to be packed with information!

I've always thought axolotls were cute and fascinating but I learned so much from this short book. It's crazy and sad to think that most living axolotls are in captivity, we have driven the wild population close to extinction.

The most interesting fact I came across reading this was the axolotls ability to regrow orders and extremities. Just imagine what sort of advances in science we might be able to make if we come to understand how this happens in axolotls!!

This book also has some great bonuses that makes it perfect for the science classroom and even the home bookshelf. At the end of the book it has a glossary, comprehensive questions and a list of books and resources for more knowledge!

I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Having a child who is obsessed with axolotls this book was perfect
He really enjoyed reading with me the facts and information provided! He goes to school and shares the new facts such as how their limbs can regrow and the speed they can swim

These books are perfect especially for a mom of 4 littles who now enjoy story time a little bit more

I really enjoyed this informative book. Even as an adult, I learned a lot from it! The pictures were fun to look at and even my toddler was interested! The words were kind of hard to see at the beginning of the chapters as they ran into the pictures.

I highly recommend this series for all libraries and fans of animal facts. It's not overly wordy while still being very informative and the pictures are great. There has been a demand for more axolotl books in my library (one of our local schools has a pet axolotl) and this will be an excellent addition to our collection.

This is a great non-fiction, science book that focuses on axolotls. Axolotls have been in a lot of books and memes lately, partly because of their cute appearance and because of their fun name. But what facts do we really know about them? This book uncovers some interesting facts including that they can regenerate limbs, including their brain, they are prey to larger fish, and they can camouflage. I found some of the print difficult to read as it overlaps with the darker portion of the photo. This could have been an issue with ebooks so ymmv.

I've learnt so much in this book! I love axolotl and their looks, so dragon like! I never knew they could regenerate body parts or change colour to camouflage! So cool!

I also love how depending where they live, they grow differently, some lose the fin, others keep them but no webbed skin. Crazy!

Very insightful, easy to understand and the pictures concrete my love for them! Sad to hear they are being kept as pets in some places but hoping the wild ones increase - with a "litter" being hundreds, there's a good chance they can increase their numbers!

My daughter has been obsessed with axolotl’s lately, this was a quick fun read to read with her. It was really informative as well because she keeps asking us to get one! I haven’t seen a book specifically about them, since they’re becoming so popular, so it was great to see!

I thought it was good but maybe not all of the information was accurate. They don't change colors to blend in and some of the other information seemed misleading. There was also a lot of great information and I loved the photos and salamander comparisons. We own an axolotl so having one in the home versus in the wild there are definitely differences. We have to be careful not to have gravel in their aquarium so it was fascinating that in the wild they purposefully eat it.
