For sure it wasn’t the read of the month , but does his work well and il was the right book at the right time! Was also. A very fun , quick and sweet read : I loved so much the big role that the horses had the characters surprised me with more depth that I expected given the type of the book! They’re both young and the character flaws of that age, but at the same time they both have a maturity that you can only get with an hard past!
So, it was an easy read perfect for the summer and i definitely recommend it!

Third act break up 👎 I did enjoy this book, but it seemed a little bit too young adult for me. The banter was fun and it brought a lot to the romance progression as they went from people that hated each other to somebody that they could trust in love. It was a really short quick read. I do recommend for anybody who loves western romance to give it a try.

this wasn’t horrible…it just wasn’t amazing either. i was really looking forward to this book since the plot + vibes sounded right up my alley, but the execution was lacking and the characters were quite bland.
a lot of the pacing felt rushed as well and i really didn’t get a chance to connect with the main character before all her problems got solved so when they did i just didn’t care 😅
also, the miscommunication trope was used…and that’s always a no from me.
there were some funny moments in there, and i’m glad for how things wrapped up in the end, but i didn’t particularly have fun reading this 🫤
thanks to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to receive an arc!

This book was such a fun read! I read it really quickly and thoroughly enjoyed it. For me though, it was just a little bit YA. I usually prefer books with characters a bit closer to my age but I still really enjoyed this one. Also the cover is beautiful!
This book follows Nora, a 17 year old from Georgia. She had never considered working anywhere but Shep Farm... Until it closes. But Mrs Shep (the farm's owner) has her covered, with an equine programme in Montana, half the fees and a job on a movie set wrangling horses to cover the rest.
After a rude encounter with leading star, Alec Mathis (who she didn't know!), Nora is shocked to find he is leading on the movie she's working for. After a misunderstood photo of them, that could save his career, circulates online, she agrees to go on 3 fake dates and teach Alec to ride horses in return for payment to cover her housing deposit in Montana. However, she is not as good an actor as Alec as the fake romance soon turns very real. But is he falling too?
This book contains horses (and lots of them unlike some cowboy books I've read!) showbiz and drama. It was a quick, fun, easy read but one that still has me wanting to throw my kindle across the room in frustration when things didn't go to plan. It covers some tricky topics such as the death of Nora's mother and her complicated relationship with her dad and stepmum and does this well.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend! Thank you to NetGalley and Union Square & Co. publishing for this Advanced Reader Copy! 🐴🎬🩷

Love, Canter, Action is a heartwarming and humorous debut that offers more than just a romantic escapade. It's a story about healing, self-discovery, and the courage to embrace new beginnings. Whether you're a longtime fan of YA romance or new to the genre, this novel promises a rewarding read.

Love, Canter, Action by Katie Gilbert was a delightful enemies-to-lovers romance.
The writing style in is undeniably engaging, drawing the reader into the story with a seamless blend of wit, emotional depth, and vivid description.
From the first page to the last, this book held me spellbound. The characters are so richly developed, and the storyline is beautifully crafted.

A sweet romance between a leading man and a young woman looking to find funds to train in horse training after the death of her mother and closing of the ranch they worked on. I enjoyed this spunky girl and story.

This book was so good! Such a beautiful story. Loved all the characters. Highly recommend this book to any romance lovers and anyone that loves horses. Even made me tear up a couple of times! Thanks so much Netgalley for letting me read this book for an honest review

This was such a sweet, fun story!
It's really short (less than 300 pages!), so it doesn't waste any time getting to the story (which I really liked). Nora and Alec meet and get off on the wrong foot, and then - oh no, he's a hot celebrity and she's working as a horse wrangler on his set! etc. etc., we know where this is going.
I love me some fake dating, and while this was a bit tame (sometimes fake dating can get wild), it worked really well for the story!
Nora's growth and opening up to her friends and family was sweet, as was her growing friendship with Alec - this was more antagonistic colleagues to friends to lovers than it was enemies to lovers. but. you know. marketing.
There was minor angst with Nora's relationship with her parents and some real grief over her mom, but nothing too overblown, and the third act breakup wasn't crazy annoying or drawn out (thank GOD)!
All in all, a cute love story with some horsies :)

This was *very* YA. That's probably the best way to explain it. If you like the Saddle Club, you'd like this.
Both characters were written well, and I had fun, even if the adolescence annoyed me slightly (lol).

Alexander/Alec was written as the typical heartthrob character, and he wore the role well. He was a bit of a brat at the start, but he had reasons that made sense.
His reaction in the third act conflict was annoying, if not expected of a boy in his (i assume) late-teens. He just didn't think, which was a mark toward realism. Another mark toward him would be the way he did his best to defend his friends, even if he had to work harder to do so.

Similarly, Nora had her own foibles. She was obviously under a certain understanding of those in her life, and while it was easily fixed, i understood why she believed so. Her reaction to the trauma she had was understandable. She was, like her leading man, written youthfully. A mark to realism to her as well.

With that being said, as a young adult, I'm likely not the target audience, which is perfectly fine. I still had fun.

Cute romance with many tropes. One horse, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, fake dating, and many more. Plus, my favorite trope - famous guy regular girl.
My biggest quibble is that the horse knowledge is not there. I think the author tried to do some cursory research, but she likely isn't a horse person herself.

This book is one of the more tender and thoughtful YA romances l've read in the last few years. Katie handles a difficult family dynamic with such honesty and care.
The main trio of friends' dialogue and actions are realistic for their age, and I enjoyed how supportive and non-toxic they were.
Nora is a very lovable and relatable main character. I often saw my own stubbornness reflected back at me.
The cost of fame and finding comfort in a new family in the face of devastating loss are two themes throughout the book that always felt realistic and incorporated seamlessly.
You guys are simply going to love Alec and Nora and I can't wait for you to meet them!
Thank you to Katie for the physical ARC and Union Square & Co. and NetGalley for the eARC!
