3.5 ⭐️🙂 I enjoyed this book. I always love a book that gives off Area 51 comedy of the sci-fi genre. Came for the small town full of alien/ UFO believers . Stayed for the found family and aliens crash landing into a mechanics life lol. Such a cute story. Highly recommend. It reminded me of The road to Roswell by Connie Willis so def check that out too.

This was a very entertaining read. I mean an intergalactic interior designer being targeted by a hired jupiterite for poorly designing a cats palace?? Genuinely amazing. I loved every page!

I almost gave this up after the MC gave off MAJOR incel vibes, like MAJOR. ONE woman said something to him, and he decided to be shitty towards ALL women, gross. He said other very weird and offhanded things about other women including his 'girlfriend'. He's supposed to be 20, but the vibe was maybe 13-14yrs old.

If this was geared towards like 8yr olds maybe it would be good, but as is, it needs to be rewritten, characters need to be flushed out better, and the plot was very meh and I zoned out more than I care to admit.

📖 Bookish Moments:
I really wanted to love The Clifford Spock Incident. The setup had so much potential—small town UFO believers, aliens crash-landing into a mechanic’s life, and a quirky tone that hooked me early on.
But somewhere around the 30% mark, I started to check out. The pacing really dragged for me, and I struggled to stay engaged. Clifford, our main character, just didn’t work for me. He’s supposed to be 20, but his voice often felt much younger, and I couldn’t connect with his decisions or internal voice.

That said, I think there is an audience for this. If you enjoy light sci-fi, alien antics, and small-town gossip energy, this might be a hit for you. It does pick up again toward the end, but by then, I was already a little disconnected.

🛸What You Can Expect:
• Small-town secrets
• UFO true believers
• Close encounter comedy
• Found family
• Quirky cult vibes

This book was very cute and silly. I feel like MC was probably heavily inspired by Douglas Adams. It gave me quite a few giggles. I absolutely loved Nigel and Phil. Loved the Men in Black.
I found Clifford to be underwhelming, but I think that was maybe the point. He does grow on you, though,
He definitely deserves better than Marisol or Wilhelmina.

Overall a very cute light read.
