There just aren't enough stars for this book! It was fantastic.
Our beloved pair take on a cold case that heats up faster than a sausage in a frying pan.
Seb & Birdie soon get to business working out who killed their client's mother, and why.
There are also mentions of our other favourites, Cavendish and Walker, tied to Seb's daughter Keira. Twiggy and the Sarge are in great form and I can't praise this book highly enough.
Haven't read any of the previous books? Don't worry, it could easily be read as a standalone.
Sally Rigby has delivered another brilliant read that is all tied up neatly in the end with a little surprise for Seb.
Huge thanks to the author and NetGalley for the ARC.

Obsessed much. But such a good book. Loved it so much thank you for letting me read in advance. I couldn't put it down all night long.

Serb & Birdie are back. This time with the help of Sebs daughter Kiera. Daryl Blackstone is convinced her late father who died in prison for the murder of her mother was innocent. The team in a race against time try to unrthe mystery of what happened that day.
From bent coppers to solicitors, council officials and a property developers the case is getting more and more dangerous.
Brilliant to see the team back again. Love this series of brilliantly written books and already looking forward to my next visit.
Highly recommended series to read along with other series by Sally.

Thank you Storm publishing and NetGalley for providing me with this eARC. All opinions are my own.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit, loved the rest and turns and uncovering the real killer. This book starts with Daryl approaching private investigators Seb and Birdie about her mother’s decade old murder for which her dad died in jail and she doesn’t not believe her dad did this. Seb and Birdie start digging deeper and finds out Helen ( Daryl’s mother ) was no ordinary woman but she was in a activist group that was investigating higher ups and Seb and Birdie is sure they are close to uncovering the real killer and they start becoming the target.
This was really interesting, even though I haven’t read the previous books in the series but I will be interested in reading them!

I’ve read all the previous books in this series so had a good understanding of background and dynamics but this could easily be read as a standalone if you wished although I think it’s a series worth reading. This book features the investigation of a cold case murder with the victim’s daughter wanting to know if her father really was responsible for the murder be spent the rest of his life in jail for. The investigation takes some fantastic turns and goes far further than I’d anticipated with the investigators themselves potentially at risk due to the investigation. This shows how difficult an investigation can be especially a cold case as they follow many leads and different avenues to get to the truth.

I loved this book so much, Sally right keeps you hooked from the first page. I've loved all her books from the very first one I read! Absolute page turner.
5 stars!

A totally gripping, addictive and chilling psychological thriller with a twist you won’t see coming. I LOVED it!
I was hooked from page one, and I think my favourite thing was I was guessing up until the end and that is my kinda read! I couldn’t put this one down!
Seb and Birdie the perfect investigative duo! I’d highly recommend this book!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars!

This was so good, I read it in one sitting! Seb and Birdie are asked to investigate a 38 year old case as the murdered woman's daughter didn't belive her father had killed her mother. Well, this case gets bigger and goes deeper than any of them expect. Once again, Sally Rigby has written a page turner, filled with awesome characters, tension and twists and turns aplenty. Brilliant.

The latest page-turner from Sally Rigby is her best yet. Sebastian Clifford and Lucinda Bird - Seb and Birdie - are fast becoming my favourite private investigators and here they well and truly take centre stage to unravel a complex, compelling plot.
The story is cunning, intelligent and expertly told. It is also poignant and realistic focusing on a possible miscarriage of justice that resulted in an innocent man spending the rest of his life in prison for a crime he did not commit.
The writing is supremely confident and the characterisation absolutely pitch perfect. This is an outstanding addition to a series set in the English Midlands that just keeps getting better and better. It's rare gems like this that make British Crime Fiction the best in the world.
