3.5/5 rounded down

Most Muscular follows Adam as he spirals down an obsessive path of steroids and exercising excessively as he seeks emotional and physical validation.

A story about toxic masculinity, body dysphoria and a need for control, Most Muscular is a fast paced thriller that forces the reader to confront the darker side of self-image issues and what someone could and would do just in order to feel "enough".

Adam isn't the most likeable of protagonists and it is sometimes hard to sympathise with him and the decisions he makes. It is gritty and real.

This story was an absolute rollercoaster! The author went to amazing depths to describe Adam's transformation, both physically and mentally. The story is well-driven as Adam craves to break free from his troubled self-confidence and self-worth. The obsession part of the story was well received as we continued to watch helplessly to Adam's downward spiral. The ending parts kinda lot me though but otherwise, it was a good psychological thriller.

Most Muscular is a raw psychological thriller that explores one man’s downward spiral in his desperate search for control and validation. Adam’s story is uncomfortable at times—in the best way—because it forces you to confront the darker side of self-image and identity. I found myself torn between frustration and sympathy for him, which made the whole experience even more powerful. It’s intense, gritty, and really made me think about how far someone might go just to feel “enough.”

This book punched me in the gut—and then flexed about it. 💥💉 Most Muscular is like watching a slow-motion car crash made of testosterone, heartbreak, and rage, and I could NOT look away. Adam's a hot mess on a needle drip, chasing muscle and meaning, and let me tell you—it's wild, tragic, and ridiculously human. If you've ever stared too long in a mirror and wondered what it’d take to feel powerful… this one’s for you. Big biceps. Bigger consequences. 🔥💊🪞
