Brilliant revisit to Pennycress Inn. Nicola is back in the place she loves most working in the inn with her friends and family close by. Her recent breakup has left her emotionally and financially exhausted but throws herself into her beloved inn and village .
With the annual summer festival coming she is charged with getting all the local farmers to agree again to lend their tractors and trailers for the floats in the festival.
When one farmer proves difficult and grumpy can they move forward?
Loving this series and looking forward to more visits to the village to catch up on the residents even the delinquent runaway sheep..

A sweet and charming romance. Small town antics. Good variety of characters. Light, entertaining and enjoyable reading. This was my first visit to the Pennycress Inn. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

I was in the mood for a cozy predictable romance and this did not disappoint even though I haven't read the first book in this series.

Nicola is from a small town and meets Charlie, a man from the city who just inherited a farm. She needs his help, but he wants to sell the farm and get back to the city. Can her small town charm win him over?

I enjoyed this book but felt the ending was slightly rushed. There was some drama with an ex that I expected more would happen but he just kind of disappeared at the end and I was hoping there would be some karma or payback for a certain thing he stopped paying for.

How wonderful to be back with the characters of Pennycress Inn. I loved the first book in this series and this one did not disappoint. It’s a huge hug of cosy happiness. A perfect feel good read.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.

Exactly what you’d expect from this author but an enjoyable read all the same, and definitely one for the beach with a cocktail in hand!

Okay this book felt like it was in a Gilmore Girls setting. I loved it. Very cute and comforting. I liked the main character and I even liked her love interest Charlie.
This was a grumpy x sunshine novel. The first half was great and I really liked how she had to keep seeing him even though he didn’t like it, perfect. Then all of a sudden she gives him a hug and he suddenly likes her and they are dating? No, that was just terrible. From then on I found the book pretty uninteresting. I couldn’t get over his complete character change. It also made it very hard for me to feel like they had a connection.

Meet Nicola, still reeling from a painful breakup with her unfaithful fiancé, she begins rebuilding her life in her hometown, Meadowfield. She throws herself into her work at the dreamy Pennycress Inn, volunteering to help with the annual carnival, which runs her right into the grouchy newcomer inheriting his late uncle’s rundown farm. His plan? Fix it up, sell it off, and head straight back to London. At first, Nicola sees no issue with his departure plans. But as she slowly chips away at his tough exterior, she discovers a kind, thoughtful man beneath the grump. And suddenly, all she wants is for this reluctant farmer to stay — and make a real home at Little Mead Farm.

took me a minute to get into but I loved this read! Such sweet and considerate friendships and blossoming relationships! Charlie is hard around the exterior at first but once he cracks, he is just so kind! I really like him. Bless poor Nicola, her ex breaking her heart and then still having the nerve to mess with her. I love her willingness to help and how obviously she adores her friends and community. love trixie and claudette and all the hens! I loved this book and definitely want to go back and read the first book, Welcome to Pennycress Inn! Love the small town vibe and the closeness of the community. Overall a feel good read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sarah Hope for allowing me to read an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.

small town, clean romance read

What a lovely book to read. I was totally invested in Nicola and Charlies friendship. This book had me gripped from the first page. What a lovely place to grow up in and then subsequently work.
I hadn't read book 1 in this series and I didn't feel like I needed to either although I will now read it.
I hope there will be a book 3 as I'd love to see how things progress with the other characters in the book.

I very good light-hearted read.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. I enjoyed the second installment of the Pennycress Inn series even more than the first. Nicola had a minimal role in the first book in the series, but that didn't make me any less interested in her story. I liked that the main Charlie / Nicola plotline was utterly predictable (I love a nice predictable, escapist romance - perfect for summer sunshine reading) but the storyline with her ex added an interesting dynamic, creating real frustration alongside the heartwarming elements. This is a lovely series; Hope so skillfully draws you into the characters' world. Roll on Book 3 - I'm hoping it focuses on Jill?

It was a heartwarming read that beautifully captures the charm of small-town life and the magic of unexpected connections. Sarah Hope’s writing is gentle and comforting, with characters that feel relatable and genuine. The romance develops at a natural pace, making it feel authentic and sweet. While the story is predictable at times, it adds to the comfort and escapism the book provides. Perfect for readers who enjoy feel-good, clean romance with a touch of emotional depth.

This is the second book in this series and I was happy to receive it. Laura runs Pennycress Inn and had taken it over in the first book having never done anything like this before. Nicola who grew up in the Inn works with Laura and they are building up the business. Laura’s boyfriend Jackson is a chef but works in the local pub. Charlie has taken over his uncles farm recently as he passed away. He works in London and is hoping to sell the farm and get back to his life there. Nicola is on the Carnival committee and she has been sent to the farm to ask if they can borrow a tractor and trailer once again. She is shocked to hear about Charlie’s uncle and is told by Charlie that no,they can’t have the tractor. He is very handsome but very disagreeable. She isn’t sure what to do as they are a big part of the carnival. She agrees to try and talk to him again and explains what it means to the village and that his uncle had been generous over the years. It’s worth reading the book to find out if the carnival goes ahead and if Nicola and Charlie can sort there differences and see where things take them. Great read

After coming back home and working at the inn in which she was raised, Nicola becomes fully immersed back into small town life. Tasked with finding tractors and trailers for the local carnival, she finds herself having to deal with a very grumpy farmer. Can she turn his frown upside down? Love, love, love this book and its quirky cast of characters right down to the sheep and the cat.

It’s a sweet, small-town romance set in the Cotswolds. When Nicola returns home to work at the inn and organize the village carnival, she clashes—and then connects—with Charlie, a grumpy local farmer. Warm, charming, and full of heart, it’s a cozy read about second chances and unexpected love.

Thank you NetGalley & Boldwood Books for sending this book for review consideration.

I started this book without realizing it was a sequel to an ongoing series, but surprisingly, it wasn’t as confusing as I expected. It was easy to follow, engaging, and enjoyable enough to read as a standalone.

The story follows Nicola as she tries to move on after being heartbroken by a cheating partner. She’s now working at Pennycress—the place where she grew up when her mother, Vivienne, used to manage the inn. Her task is to round up tractors for the village carnival, which sounds a bit simple… until she crosses paths with Charlie, the grumpy yet handsome city boy turned reluctant farmer.

To be honest, I couldn’t relate to either of the characters, and I didn’t feel any chemistry between them. None of their scenes made me feel anything, and the third-person narration made it harder for me to connect with the story emotionally.

Still, I think this could be a sweet and cozy summer romance for other readers. It just didn’t hit the mark for me.

Falling in Love at Pennycress Inn is everything you want in a summer romance: warm-hearted, gently humorous, and full of community spirit. Sarah Hope delivers a story that feels like a mini holiday—complete with charming villagers, scenic countryside, and just the right amount of romantic tension.

Nicola is a relatable and grounded heroine, returning home to the picturesque Pennycress Inn after a tough few months. Her task to round up tractors for the village carnival seems simple—until she crosses paths with Charlie, the grumpy (but handsome!) city boy turned reluctant farmer. Their banter is a delight, the chemistry is undeniable, and watching their guarded hearts slowly soften is pure escapist joy.

Set against the backdrop of a vibrant summer festival and the cozy Cotswold village of Meadowfield, this book is brimming with charm. It’s low-drama, high-comfort, and just the right pick for a relaxing afternoon by the sea or under the sun.

Whether you're a longtime romance reader or just looking for a cheerful, easy beach read, Falling in Love at Pennycress Inn delivers everything it promises—and then some.

I have a huge issue when one of the main characters is mean to the other main character right off the bad with no reason to be this way. That’s why I dnf’d this one. It’s not for me even though I’m sure others will enjoy it.

This is the second book in the Pennycress Inn series, although I have read Welcome to Pennycress Inn, you really don’t have to, to love this book.
Pennycress Inn is set in Medowfield. Nicola grew up at the inn her mum use to run, now enjoying working there with its new owner Laura (you can read about Laura’s story in Welcome to Pennycress Inn) can Nicola win over the new farmer at Little Mead and borrow 2 trailers and tractors for the village parade?? Or will Claudette show up and cause mayhem??
Loved this book from start to finish.
