Big thanks to Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Nobody Saw Him is an ok read.
A great premise and it starts off quite well but then slightly goes in awry direction.
A mother takes her little boy for a swim.
They go to the changing rooms, the mother zips to the toilet.
When she comes back, the little boy is gone.
Everyone searches for him and no one saw him.
The police arrive and begin an investigation.
What happened to the little boy…..
A slow burn mystery with a surprise twist.
It got a bit messy and for the reader confusing.
A little disappointing.

Nobody Saw Him has a really gripping and emotional premise that pulled me in right away. The idea of a mother losing her child in just a matter of minutes—and then being told by police that the child was never even there—definitely hooked me. It’s intense, and the emotional weight of that moment is written well. I really felt for Jo and her confusion and heartbreak.
That said, the story got a bit hard to follow as it went on. There were a lot of characters and side plots introduced, and it started to feel a little muddled. I sometimes had to stop and think about who was who, especially with other missing children being mentioned. The pacing also slowed down in the middle, and it took me out of the suspense a bit.
On the positive side, the short chapters kept things moving and the writing style made the book easy to read. The final twists at the end were surprising and helped bring the story together, even if it was a little bumpy getting there.
Overall, I liked the concept more than the execution. It wasn’t a bad read at all—it just didn’t fully click for me. But if you enjoy slow-burn thrillers with emotional depth and complex characters, this might be worth a try.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"Nobody Saw Him" by Liz Lawler is an engrossing domestic thriller that hooks you from the start. Jo's five-year-old son vanishes at a local pool while her husband is away, but investigators can't find anyone who saw him with her that day, and even the CCTV footage shows her arriving alone. Jo starts questioning her sanity, and her husband's unusually distant behavior only adds to her confusion. How could this happen? What really happened to Sam? And what will DC Morgan uncover about Jo's past during the investigation? The story grips you from the beginning, though it does feel a bit dragged out at times. However, with its suspenseful twists and turns, it keeps you guessing. I’d recommend this book to anyone who enjoys domestic thrillers.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Wow what a book, literally couldnt put this book down from the minute I picked it up. Lots of twists and turns so buckle in!

I really enjoyed this book. I was gripped from the first page and raced through it.
It comes packed with twist and intrigue and I really enjoyed the ending. It’s certainly worthy of 5 stars.

I enjoyed how it kept adding new turns and things to make your mind spiral to try and work out what was going on and I didn't manage to guess, really enjoyed it and would defo recommend. It is told from multiple POVs which I don't see much of in this genre but really added depth to the story!

This was a great read a slow burning psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns and hooked me in from the beginning. It also reminded me how much a loved this author and this was the first of their books I had read for a while. It was full of secrets and lies and told from multiple points of view.

I was lucky enough to read this book in early release... And it did not disappoint. Such an easy read, it was if the words just flowed.
This is my first book by Liz Lawler and I have already started adding more of her books to my TBR.
I felt like this book could be real life which would be unfortunate for that to ever happen but I felt like I was in the book.
Although for me it was a bit difficult to get into this book, once I was a few chapters in, I couldn't put it down.

Nobody Saw Him started off at breakneck speed and had me really invested in the story but unfortunately it missed the mark for me and it went from being on fire to fizzling out and I lost interest.
I know it is receiving other good reviews so it might just have been wrong for me so please give it a go if you enjoy thrillers where everyone is keeping secrets.

I’m here today as part of the blog tour for Nobody Saw Him (also known as “one of my worst motherhood nightmares”). The woman in this book has a little boy who disappears and no one saw him go anywhere or be taken. In fact, no one saw her with him and soon everyone is questioning her story, her integrity, and even her sanity. Talk about a suspenseful read!
Here's the scoop:
You say your child was taken. The police say you’re lying…
As I sit my beautiful blue-eyed boy Sam down on the bench outside the changing room, I’m certain today is going to be a better day. He can splash about with his pool toys without worrying about making too much noise, and I can take a break from tiptoeing around my husband Pete, who is becoming more distant every day.
But when I return to the bench to collect Sam, my little boy is gone…
I can feel my heart hammering as I search for him, rushing to the staff at the front desk who tell me they haven’t seen him. Nobody spotted Sam waiting patiently for me or saw him wander off through the frosted front doors. Nobody saw me reassuring him on our way in, his tiny hand clutched tightly in mine. Nobody saw him at all.
My blood turns to ice as the police show me the CCTV. I strain to see Sam’s light-brown hair through the grainy footage, sure I’ll see his curls bouncing as we walked in. But in the video, I’m completely alone.
How is this possible? He’s been erased. Gone without a trace.
And then it hits me. Will the police now discover my past?
I will stop at nothing to find Sam. My child won’t pay for what I’ve done…

Mum Jo takes her 5 year old boy to a local indoor swimming pool, and while using the restroom in the locker room, Sam disappears with no trace and no witnesses. That start is a great start, but there are too many characters (is it normal to have 2 police officers always with a victim making them endless cups of tea??? so many cups of tea!!!) and too many words in a mushy middle. I found myself skipping pages of narrative to get to an end that I knew was coming. For me, it was not a page turner, but a slug. I admit that I don't fully understand all the character motivations: whether that was me forcing a finish and not paying attention enough or the author's choices, I'm unsure. But potato, pot a toe.

Thank you to NetGalley & Bookouture for the chance to read this book!
There is a reason Bookouture is my favorite publisher to pick from on NetGalley right now, they keep putting out consistently great books for us to read, this one was no different! Crazy stories with GREAT plot twists, I swear every time I thought I knew who it was, something else happened to set me straight! This was a very fast read, keep me turning pages as fast as I could! Going to be looking out for this author for now on!

Amazing! This one gripped my mama heart. A missing child always makes for a scary read. This was no exception. A wild ride with suspense throughout. No one is who they seem to be and the ending was heartbreaking and jaw dropping. This one is unputdownable. A fast paced read full of amazing characters and a well written plot.
Perfect

Just amazing! Packed with twists, I read this book in one breathless, edge of my seat sitting! Wow, just wow! A thrilling, wonderful read.

Jo is living every mothers nightmare when her son goes missing. The police suspect she and her husband are hiding something.
I really enjoyed this domestic thriller! The secrets and lies and all the moving characters really brought this story to life.

A unique spin on the missing child trope puts “Nobody Saw Him” at the forefront of this type of domestic thriller.
Jo’s five-year-old son Sam goes missing from a public pool on a family swim day. Jo’s firefighter husband Pete is away for work at the time. The police are called and events spiral as Jo comes to the realization that NOBODY saw Sam with her at the pool. Even the CCTV bears witness to the fact that she was alone… Now everyone involved is questioning Jo’s sanity and integrity, and she finds that she begins to question herself.
Pete seems strangely detached from the events surrounding Sam’s disappearance. The reader gets the feeling that theirs was a marriage in trouble long before Sam vanished. He does little to support Jo and even piles more feelings of guilt upon her shoulders.
I especially liked the character of DC Moraine Morgan as the Family Liaison Officer. She seemed to have integrity as well as empathy. Also, her colleague DC Kennedy seemed a caring and understanding man.
The couples landlords/employers were a mysterious family. Claire, the matriarch, seemed well-meaning and kind, yet a few times she showed a side to her personality that gave me pause. James, the patriarch, was a high-ranking solicitor. It becomes apparent that this couple have had a child go missing in their past. A child that physically resembles Jo’s son Sam…
One wonders if Jo is a reliable narrator, yet still I rooted for her all the way through.
Family secrets, gas-lighting, and the utter blind panic of a young mother’s fear for her missing five year old son, kept me glued to the pages of this fast paced, twisty, whodunit. Both tension-filled and twistily suspenseful, I can easily recommend it to other fans of this genre.

Jo takes little Sam to the pool for a swim. The bathroom is so small and tight that she leaves little Sam in the changing room waiting for her. When she emerges from the bathroom stall. Little Sam is gone. He is 5yrs old and none of the other mothers have seen where he has gone.
The police are blaming you but something isn't right. This has happened before to another little boy in the same house. Everyone is lying. Your husband has secrets. Your employer has secrets. And there's another couple out there that may be the key to what is going on

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for accepting my request for an early copy.
This book had me gripped from the start. A mother losing her child at a pool? Gone without a trace. The police liason officer think things are not right at home and the cctv do not show that Sam was not seen in the car when they went out? The chapters were a nice length and the story built and built with twists and turns along the way. A great read!

Nobody Saw Him
An emotional roller coaster ride about a missing child with no witnesses and a mom who will do anything to get her son back. A twisted domestic thriller with shocking surprises. 5 stars

Sorry to say this book wasn’t for me. The premise and cover are fantastic a really got me excited to read this, but it very quickly felt like a high concept idea that couldn’t hold my interest for an entire novel. It felt like there were way too many irrelevant details and characters that just didn’t add interest or depth to this idea. Great concept though, hope the author keeps writing these fun thriller ideas.
