As a parent every parent’s nightmare is when your child goes missing!! Whether it’s a couple of seconds are really missing.
A public pool full of people and no one saw a thing! Sam is missing! Where did he go? Everything in your mind is racing and thinking were did he go? In todays world CCTV footage is everywhere and he was not where the Jo said he was.
We have heard the term “gone without a trace”, and that is terrifying. Is the mother involved? As a mother I am thankful my child never went up missing.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced review copy.

Nobody Saw Him follows the story of Sam, a 5 year old who vanishes while at the public swimming pool with his mom.

The story hooked me immediately but then became more of a slow burn. There was so much inner dialogue and details, especially from Claire, that it was hard to keep turning through some of the chapters.

I felt so much sympathy for Jo, Sam’s mother, and never really considered her a suspect….though I felt she may be charged with the kidnapping out of convenience. Thankfully that wasn’t the case.

I actually suspected the true villain early on and was right in the end. Still, there were some doubts as some of the secrets and twists were revealed.

I believe the book is a solid read, and without so much additional fluff, I think it would be a 5 star!

I started out liking this book and was really hooked. Then it just had way too much in the middle. I got bored, skimmed, and went to the back to see who the kidnapper was. This would be an amazing book if she cut out 100 pages or so. Just way too much.

This was the first book I read from this author and I enjoyed it. The book was a bit of a slow burn in the beginning but the suspense kept me reading and when the story picked up about halfway through I struggled to put the book down and kept reading until the end.

The author did a good job of describing the setting of this book which made the experience very immersive.

The characters in this book were well written. All of them had some flaws so I never know who to trust, however I would have liked to learn more about the backstory of some characters. The ending of the book was good although I did guess a part of the reveal. Nevertheless I found the book interesting and recommend it to everyone that likes slow burn, dark and suspenseful thrillers.

Great read!! Everyone is a suspect! I thought the mother was delusional, and then suspected the father... heck, I even suspected the gardener!
Liz Lawler really keeps the reader guessing in this novel. The disappearance of a child is always concerning, and the mother is always a suspect, but I really felt sorry for Jo. She had a coldhearted husband to contend with.
I loved the FLO team! John and Moraine had such compassion!

Well written and the plot keeps the reader engaged.

4/5 stars

Many thanks to netgalley, the author and the publisher for approving my request to read this book.

Nobody saw him is a good solid thriller which for me was a bit of a slow burner to start but it picked up the pace nicely after the storyline was set and the characters were built. I was intrigued by all the characters within this story and thought they were extremely well written. This story also kept my brain ticking as I was tried to fit all the pieces together.

Overall I enjoyed this book and would recommend it if you enjoy this genre.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookoutur for the Arc!

The book started a little slow, and while I still really enjoyed the story, this is usually not my cup of tea, I have to admit.

It was still a solid read, with a lot of twist and turns, and of course I wanted to know what happened to Sam. If you want to know as well, go and get the book once it does come out!

4/5 stars! This book was so conflicting. It's premise alone didn't work for me because I would never leave a child unattended when out and about. But the way this author spun the psychological warfare and confusion was so enthralling I couldn't stop reading.

Nobody saw him tells the story of Jo, whose son vanishes from a public swimming pool. A mother's worst nightmare! Someone calls the police, who tell her there's no evidence her child was with her. Her husband becomes secretive and seems to revel in her feelings of guilt and dispair. Why is everyone treating Jo as if she's lying?

WOW wow wow! this was such an edge-of-your-seat thriller. Twisty, unsettling, and heart-wrenching, it simmers before it explodes! That ending?Absolutely shocking!

A solid 5-star page-turner.

Oh my gosh this book was insane. I honestly had no idea what to believe or feel. I truly thought I knew who did it and was totally sidelined by the reveal. The entire time you wonder what actually happened and if the mother went insane. The suspense and mystery for this book was just amazing. As a mom this is always a worse fear and then to read about it has all the feelings brought out. I really did enjoy reading this however and could not put it down until it was done.

This book’s story had potential but unfortunately it was so slow paced and extremely hard to follow.

Each chapter switched back and forth between multiple characters’ thoughts making it super hard to keep track of who was thinking what. There was also some bread crumbing to secrets and the past within these thoughts but it felt out of nowhere and I was never sure if it was intentional or if I had just missed something.

Due to the slow pace, this book was also very repetitive. I found it hard to keep reading even in the middle of a chapter.

If this was cleaned up a bit to be more clear and succinct I think I would have liked it a lot more.

Definitely a slow burn! If you like that style, you'll love this book. If slow burn isn't for you it is still worth a read as the story is well done. In this case, the slow burn allows for character-building and detail that enhances the story. I appreciated the detail. The author did a fantastic job of leading the reader back and forth to different suspects.

Publication day June 2nd.

I really enjoyed this! It was a bit of a slow burn which I don’t typically enjoy as much, but this was really gripping. The character of Jo was written incredibly well and you really feel empathy for what she’s going through. This had a good mix of likeable and absolutely awful characters but all of them were interesting in their own right. Would definitely recommend!

This book started slow. As a mother myself I could not imagine my child goes missing. Jo's young son goes missing and things are not what they seem. This book is a slow burn.

As a mum this really pulled on my heartstrings! I also couldn’t quite see how it was going to end as there was a few theories I developed while reading. Quite sad in parts as I felt the mums pain but it did take a longer route to the end.

I really enjoyed this thriller about a young boy who vanishes from a public swimming baths changing room. The mother swears she left him on the bench for a minute whilst she went to the toilet but nobody saw him and the police can’t find any proof that the child was even with her, throw in a suspicious husband who is keeping secrets and a landlord who is lying to cover up something this all adds up to a rip roaring thriller with an ending I did not see coming. Could this mother have done the unthinkable and killed her child? Why is the husband so cold and cruel and what is the link to a similar looking child. Don’t miss this edge of your seat thriller.

The pace of the story was too slow for me and it didn’t really pull me in as much as the summary did. The dad also drove me nuts!! As a mom reading books like this it is very tough, I cannot imagine how scary it would be.

I wanted to like this book, and I did enjoy parts, but overall, I found myself slogging through just to finish. The premise definitely interested me. However, there was way too much telling, not showing….and so much of it was repeated over and over. I literally would skip entire paragraphs or even pages so I didn’t have to read the same thing again (just slightly reworded.)

Lawler was clearly trying to throw out a bunch of red herrings, but the attempts just muddied the plot and became repetitive. Honestly, I didn’t care enough about any of the characters (other than Sam) to care what happened to them.

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this book. I’m still giving it 3 stars, because maybe it’s someone else’s cup of tea.

When you, as a parent, go somewhere alone with your young child, you should have as many arms as an octopus and as many eyes as there are on a die, because before you know it, something can go wrong.

Not for a moment would I allow myself to lose sight of my child. Not that I would keep him on a leash — absolutely not — but there were always clear agreements that he was not allowed to wander too far, and the idea of planting him somewhere and walking away myself would never even cross my mind.

And there Jo makes, in my view and perhaps also in the eyes of many other parents, a crucial mistake. A mistake with far-reaching consequences. Will this turn out well?

The author clearly portrays the contrast between the behavior and feelings of mother Jo and father Pete. She is desperate, feels guilty, and would do anything to find her little son Sam. Pete, on the other hand, has other things on his mind, is economical with the truth, and even seems to enjoy piling even more guilt onto Jo’s shoulders.

For me, the pace of the story was too slow, and at times I didn't find it very believable. However, there were also parts that were absolutely outstanding, and that's why I’m giving it 4 stars.

Thank you.
