Such a cute romcom book. I loved this book the characters and story line was so good I could get enough of the book. Totally worth the read !

I had the privilege of listening to the audio book and reading the book. This was a really great audio book narrated by Erin Mallon. Reading Louise Bay's books are always a delight but listening to the Audio book is a very special treat! This was a new narrator for me but I enjoyed their voice very much and they did such a great job of making the story come to life. The plot is very engaging. Tuesday is a young woman whose college boyfriend has just left her and now her job is in jeopardy. But when she meets Ben, a very attractive man with Hollywood looks, things really get wild. He is in need of a fake fiancée to impress a duke and duchess. This romcom is so entertaining and the banter between Tuesday and Ben is so good. I definitely suggest listening to this one or reading it.

Louise does it again with another fun and easy billionaire romance! I’ve said it before but I absolutely love Louise’s writing style - she has a way of drawing you in and making you not even realize how quickly you are devouring the book!
An American in London focuses on exactly what the title says - Tuesday (the American) is in London for work and meets Ben, a grumpy British billionaire. Tuesday is heartbroken, at risk of losing her job, and in need of a fresh start. Ben on the other hand is in need of a finance to impress a duke and convince him to sell property to Ben. Combine the two of them together and you get a fun Pretty Woman meets Bridgerton vacation romance in the English countryside!
I loved Ben and Tuesday! Ben is so scowly and I love his refusal to call Tuesday by her actual name! Their chemistry is steamy and easy banter is fun! I read the ebook while listening to the audiobook and it did not disappoint! Erin Mallon did such an amazing job narrating both parts!
Book Vibes:
✈️ Grumpy billionaire
♥️ Fake engagement
✈️ Vacation romance
♥️ British MMC x American FMC
✈️ Bridgerton vibes

A little heart break and a terribly shy introvert. Need I say more? This is just a wonderful read that warmed my heart from beginning to end. Erin Mallon narration takes this to another level.

An American in London by Louise Bay features Tuesday and Ben. Ben, a very wealthy and gorgeous British businessman in the market to expand his business, focusing on hotels, enlists the help of Tuesday, an American, who is in the UK for work. Ben has a particular interest in The Fairmont. It takes Tuesday the entire story until she gets the full story from Ben about why he wants to own the Fairmont. Louise Bay does a great job developing her characters along with the entire storyline in An American in London. Very enjoyable. Erin Mallon narrates the entire story. As always she does a fantastic job of bringing both Ben and Tuesday to life along with supporting characters. I highly recommend this story. I really do wish the author would consider updating the narration to duet because so would have loved to have been able to hear from Ben himself to know his thoughts in different situations throughout the story. Otherwise An American in London is thoroughly enjoyable. A fun summer listen with a ton of passion, emotion, and falling in love when you least expect it.

First,
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC for the audio book.
Let’s start with the narrator has the most horrendous British accent I’ve ever heard. This will not affect my review for the actual storyline but I did get thoroughly annoyed that he sounded like a dull vampire.
The story started out good, I was interested from the start. As an American who lived in the UK for a little bit I felt I connected with the FMC. I hated the MMC he was dull and a snob. He had zero banter for being British. I started to lose it in the second half of the book. It was cringy and gave me the ICKKK. It’s very predictable and there was no real “conflict” in any part of the story.

(4.5 stars rounded to 5 when needed) AN AMERICAN IN LONDON is a new stand-alone romantic comedy by Louise Bay about a people pleasing American and a disagreeable Brit, who was also hot. Tuesday Reynolds’ wonderful Manhattan life had blown up. Her fiancé moved to Iowa with a ballerina, and her Wall Street Bank had been bought out. She travelled to London to prove herself to the new CEO. Her plans changed when she ran into broody billionaire, Ben Kelley, whose professional goals would be complete if he could accomplish one thing. But, in order to do it, he needed a fake fiancé to impress a duke and duchess. Tuesday agreed to do the job for a new wardrobe, a weekend in the country, and enough money to secure a new Manhattan apartment upon her return. But the rehearsals for the weekend away started to feel real, the country estate looked like a set from her favorite romcom, and Tuesday’s life was officially hijacked by a romcom script! I really loved this novel, especially the audiobook, which Erin Mallon slayed with her comedic style. Tuesday was whimsical and endearing and everything that grumpy, scowly Ben needed. The more time they spent together the more whimsical he became. The story was well written, funny, steamy, emotional, and everything one could want from a RomCom novel about RomComs. I would recommend this book/audiobook for readers/listeners who enjoy a lighthearted fake engagement romcom with emotional depth and character growth. This ebook and audiobook are available through the kindleunlimited program.
I received a free ALC and ARC via Netgalley, Montlake, and Brilliance Audio. I am voluntarily posting this honest review.

What happens when your life isn’t everything you hoped it would be? Tuesday finds out and an encounter changes everything to help make her future a little brighter. The absolutely perfect blend of romance and trying to step one ahead with a fake fiancé that becomes so much more.

An American in London is the best of all the amazing romance movies that were so popular in the 1990s featuring actors like Hugh Grant. It combines the charm of London, happenstance, and romantic whimsy, with a little movie star fangirling, into an amazing romance. This story is absolutely the sweetest with an American heroine named Tuesday visiting London where she bumps into Ben, a super wealthy and grumpy Londoner who just happens to look like a doppelganger for her favorite movie star when she was a teen. I adored how opposites attract and kismet causes their paths to continuously cross so much so that Tuesday is determined to make a friend out of the handsome, reticent stranger. When his bestie invites her to join them for dinner and suggests she fake date him in order to help him impress a duke who won’t sell his hotels to Ben, things really start to get interesting. While fake dating isn’t really my favorite trope, this story hardly feels like fake dating from the start. From start to finish, it’s adorable and the ending will make you kick your feet in happiness and sweetness.
In audio, this story was a treat and no matter how you choose to read this story, it’s a great choice. Erin Mallon solo narrates the story told from Tuesday’s POV and I adored how she added so much personality and whimsy to the story. She was perfect for Tuesday and you could tell she had fun performing this story. There were so many other things to love about this book too. I absolutely adored Tuesday’s cup half full attitude despite being a New Yorker, but what I loved more was Ben’s determination to get Tuesday to stop making decisions based on what would make other people happy. They were absolutely perfect for one another and I couldn’t wait for them to be together, but at the same time, didn’t want the story to end. I loved this story so much, I almost wish this would become a series. This is one instance where a little rinse and repeat wouldn’t hurt my heart. I adored this light and sweet story so much.

An American in London gets 5 star-studded thumbs up from me.
My introduction to author Louise Bay was through one of her American/Brit romances and so those are the ones that I hold dear to my heart. Just the title of this book had me smiling like a fool and excited to dive in.
The book is written in the POV of the female character, Tuesday Reynolds. Generally, I prefer to get some POV from the male lead, but not having it was actually part of the mystery of the story. There are many times when you think you know what each of them are thinking, but you’re never quite sure about Ben Kelley. He is a Brit you know, so we can never be sure what is playing up there between their ears. Ben is always a proper gentleman, and a little awkward when it comes to relationships, which totally makes him lovable from the start.
I pretty much loved everything about this story. It’s based on a moment of mistaken identity that turns into a fake relationship that didn’t seem to have a fake moment about it. Tuesday and Ben just fit perfectly together from the start. Their romance journey takes the form of following in the footsteps of some favorite movies filmed in and around London and starring Tuesday’s teenage crush. Tuesday finds much joy in sharing the movies with Ben and talking about the tropes and famous scenes with anyone who will listen. Ben takes much joy is learning about those movies and recreating some of the special moments for her.
Both Tuesday and Ben are people-pleasers and they both take some time to self-examine their past, present, and future on their romance journey. Their path is sweet, fun, and romantic. It was wonderful to listen to and it played out like a movie in my head. The angst level is low in this book but there are times when you are left wondering how or if they’ll find there way to their own HEA.
I was quite surprised by the narration of the audiobook. I love Erin Mallon; she’s fabulously talented. And this book proved that. She was the single narrator doing all the parts. Both the main female and male characters plus all the side characters. I was amazed at how she was able to change her voice for each one so the listener never wondered who was talking. She did such a great job with Ben’s voice that I double checked at one point to make sure there wasn’t a male narrator listed.
Erin brought out the personality of Tuesday and the stoic characteristics of Ben. There was plenty of banter and innuendoes between the characters, which always brought out a smile or a giggle. I would recommend this book to all the hopeless romantics out there who love the process of falling in love, the small gestures to show that love, and also love watching all the famous movies that have unforgettable first kisses.

5 Star Review An American In London by Louise Bay
eBook/Audio:
There was nothing I didn’t love about this book. In fact this is one of my top reads/ listens from Louise Bay.
I fell hard and fast for American Tuesday Reynolds and British billionaire Ben Kelley, who just happens to look like her teenage crush actor Daniel De Luca.
They met by accident, a case of mistaken identity and what follows was an entertaining, feel good story that had me smiling throughout.
With very little angst, I was invested in Tuesday and Ben’s story from the first chapter.
The narration by Erin Mallon was entertaining and they she did a fantastic job. Not only did she bring all the romance, humour, passion and tension of the story to life but she did justice to this emotional story with voices that are easy to listen to.
I received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley.

After getting dumped by her college sweetheart, and facing the threat of losing her job, Tuesday Reynold’s travels to London with one goal: determined to prove herself to the new CEO. That’s until she crosses paths with the one and only Ben Kelley, a wealthy movie star who has everything he needs, except a fake fiancée to impress the duke and duchess and seal his dream deal. What begins as a business arrangement soon blurs into something more. As the rehearsals intensify, so do the emotions—and pretending might just become the biggest risk of all.
I loved this audiobook so much! And I usually don’t like slow burn romances, but what can I say?—I’m weak for a British man. The story made me feel like I was living on a fanfiction romance, but in the best possible way. If you’re a fan of rom-coms and Bridgerton-style drama, you will definitely enjoy this book.
✨Billionaire Romance
✨Slow Burn
✨Fake Dating / Engagement
I rate this 4/5
An American in London is out now!
Huge thanks to Netgalley and the author for the ARC.

Erin Mallon was fantastic in this sweet, fun romcom. Not only does she narrate the entire book, but the masc character is British; now, anyone who knows me can attest, I love me some Erin Mallon masc voice but with a Brit accent? She's just not playing fair. Is there anything she cannot do?
I love Louise Bay's books they're usually a lot of fun and this one did not disappoint, although the swoon factor might have been turned up a couple more notches. Tuesday is in London for some training under the threat of her job, after just having her relationship end. The hotel she is staying in is hosting a convention for an actor, which is bringing back a host of memories (and with it grief) for her mother. So when she bumps into a lookalike, what is a friendly American supposed to do but strike up a conversation? Unfortunately, Ben is less than receptive. Our grumpy Brit does not want to engage in conversation or anything of the sort, and why does this annoyingly friendly American keep turning up whenever he is? Thankfully, for us, Ben's pal has other plans and convinces him a fake fiancé would do wonders for the deal he wants to make, and we get some wonderful moments between Tuesday and Ben bonding over romance movies and tropes. I think romance lovers, whether it's books or movies will really love this book.

🎧📚AUDIO & EBOOK REVIEW📚🎧
Okay, so I *read* this story one and *listened* twice in the last 2 months because … swooooooonfest (lol) plus, I really love 🩷🎙️Erin Mallon🎙️🩷 and 💙✍️Louise Bay✍️💙 so it was no hardship! #winning (Thank you, Montlake (Amazon Publishing) and Brilliance Publishing for the ARC & ALC) :)
You guys, Louise Bay makes me happy. I know I’ve said a bunch of other times but now I’m adding something more lol. She makes me happy not just because her stories make me swoon and smile, but because I’ve been reading/listening to her stories since the wheel was square and she has grown her craft as the years progressed, but I can still go way back to one of her first books and feel the same love I do today. LISTEN, that’s rare. Everyone grows and everyone goes through stages in their life and sometimes what “was” is not the same in the “now”. Totally normal, but with Louise, what “was” is the “now” as well and that just makes me happy.
But I digress LOL Lets’ talk about An American in London specifically! Well, I’ve already told you it was a complete swoonfest for me, so there’s that. It’s a “happy” story. It’s sweet with just the right amount of sexy. It’s entertaining, heartfelt and heartwarming. I liked the storyline “almost” all the time, but those “almost” aren’t significant enough to talk about in detail. If you’re looking for a sweet, feel good romance, here you are!

An American in London is Louise Bay’s first traditionally published novel. I was really glad to see that it still had the key Bay charm and she was able to write the same as she normally would despite being traditionally published this time. I am glad there weren't any changes or adjustments to her normal writing style. I am a huge fan of her work and was thrilled to listen to this one on audio.
Erin Mallon is one of my favorite narrators and she narrated this story as Tuesday who meets Ben in a park after confusing him for her biggest and longest celebrity crush she keeps having little meet cutes with him. They decide to fake an engagement to help Ben with a business deal and the fake dating becomes not so fake. Ben is quiet, very professional and straight laced. Whereas Tuesday is fun, vibrant, and talkative. She is also working on creating a new space and life for herself so she tries to be who she wants to be not who everyone needs. Her growth in this area is great.
This book is sweet, spicy, and funny. It has the right mix of just about everything. It’s a quick read but a very good one nonetheless. The humor is sprinkled in. Since the main female character’s name is Tuesday, Ben has a running joke of calling her by other days of the week and it is REALLY cute. It made me swoon every time.
This book is a great read whether this is your first Louise Bay book or your 30th, you won’t go wrong picking this one up and reading it!

Tuesday and Ben’s fake engagement romance is sweet, heartwarming, and full of charm. They’re perfect together! I loved the humor, the banter, the chemistry, and the romance — it all flowed so naturally. Erin Mallon did an excellent job bringing the story to life, giving each character a distinctive voice and energy. I truly enjoyed it. Louise Bay never disappoints!

An American in London is a new standalone rom-com featuring grumpy Brit Ben and people pleasing American Tuesday as they try to pull off a fake engagement.
Ben Kelley is a grumpy Brit billionaire. He comes from a working class family. His father used to run the Fairfield Hotel, which Ben is now trying to purchase from the Duke, who currently owns it.
Tuesday has come to London to work with the CEO of the bank she works at to obtain a fast track management position. The timing is perfect, since her life has just imploded. She needs to make a good impression on her boss because she cannot afford to lose her job too.
Since she has arrived a couple of days early in order to acclimate to the time difference, Tuesday decides to do some sightseeing. Lucky for her, the hotel where she is staying is having a conference featuring a famous movie star. When she checks in and is speaking with front desk attendant, she is given a map of sights to see that are in the films made by this movie star.
While she is touring one of the parks from the map, she sees a gentleman that looks like the famous movie star. She must be mistaken. So the next day, when she stops in at a local coffee shop, she is shocked to see the same man. She mentions him to the person taking her order and finds out he is just a doppelganger of the movie star. Mystery solved from yesterday. But their run ins will continue.
During one run in, Ben and his friend discuss using Tuesday to help Ben obtain the Fairfield hotel. But she is not on board with their plan and leaves. But the next day, while getting her coffee at the same coffee shop, she is told it has been paid for. After pondering and questioning the order girl, she figures out Ben is behind the free coffee.
Ben is desperate. He wants that hotel. And he feels the only way to get it is to put forth a certain image. And image that Tuesday could help him with. But he has to convince her to help. His method of convincing will not necessarily work on her. But when she realizes there is something he can do for her, she finally relents.
So now the facade begins.
While visiting the Duke and Duchess, Tuesday learns that one of the famed De Luca movies was actually filmed at their home. The Duchess is entranced with her and gives her a tour of where some of the scenes were filmed. Tuesday is beside herself to be reliving the movie that she and her mother watched repeatedly where it was actually filmed. So much so that Ben is actually enjoying the tour as well just watching her.
But time is of the essence. Tuesday is going back to America soon. This facade can only last so long.
Will the Duke sell the Fairfield to Ben? Will Tuesday earn a position on the fast track management team? Will their pretend engagement turn in to the real thing, or will they go their separate ways?
Tuesday is a mess when she arrives in London. I was so happy to see she still had a support system with her one girlfriend. Someone to talk to, to confide in, and to vent to. But I also liked seeing the CEO's personal assistant also take Tuesday under her wing and give her some sage advice about expectations and conformity.
And then there is the duchess. I freaking loved her. She is like the grandmother everybody wants. Not necessarily by giving advice, but just by being there. She takes Tuesday to tea and gives her food for thought. And their shared love of the Daniel De Luca film. Something Tuesday had not had since her mother passed away.
Ben is such a gentleman for being such a closed off grump in the beginning. We see him open up with Tuesday. He becomes more open and actually tells the Duke why he really wants the Fairfield. She softens his rough edges and he does not even realize it.
It has been awhile since I have listened to a book narrated by a single narrator, but if anyone can do it, it is Erin Mallon. She has one of the greatest male voices I have heard. She handles all of the male characters in this book so well. Plus differentiating all of the female voices. I do not know how she does it, but I love listening to her.

🎧I had the upmost pleasure listening to this audiobook.
Erin Mallon’s performance is absolutely REMARKABLE. Her portrayal of Tuesday and Ben is amusing, captivating and beautiful.🎧
I just loved everything about this billionaire, work place, fake fiancé romance.
Tuesday is in London for professional reasons and just the right time to change things up in her life after her fiancé fell in love with another and moved away.
Mistaking a handsome man for her childhood star crush she finds herself helping him out for a business deal.
Ben and Tuesday’s undeniable attraction is tantalizing and burning.
They share a wonderful weekend with the Duke and Duchess, and discover just how much of a connection they have with another.
When desire leads to more and feelings start flowing Ben and Tuesday’s fake relationship begins to get more intense and complicated.
Ben and Tuesday are engaging, entertaining and interesting characters with a touching and fascinating story.
So if you enjoy escaping into slow burn, fun, emotional and romantic books you will be deeply delighted and wonderfully satisfied with this flirty, heartwarming and passionate story.

What a beautiful told story about Ben + Tuesday's prediciment. A slow burn, fake fiancee, great story. Is money really everything or is love more? Loved their chemistry.

An engaging and heartwarming romcom as American Tuesday Reynolds arrives in London on a make-or-break work trip only to find out her hotel is home to a convention for a popular actor she’d spent her teenage years fangirling over with her late mother which evokes a lot of memories for her. Coincidentally she also kept bumping into his doppelgänger in the shape of businessman Ben Kelley, who must’ve thought she was stalking him as it the number of times it happened. Ben was the typical reserved Brit, so uptight you were sure he’d have creases ironed in his jeans, while Tuesday with her bubbly personality had never met a stranger, but Ben’s dry sense of humour soon made an appearance as he teased her, working his way through the week and deliberately getting her name wrong. Somehow, they end up faking an engagement for the sake of a business deal and they’re soon off for a weekend ‘hunting, shooting & fishing’ with the aristocracy. But as usual in a situation like this the more time they spend together, the more the lines begin to blur between fact and fiction and to add pressure, they actually like the people they’re attempting to fool.
This was a fast paced, fun read with fabulous characters and a definite feel-good factor that’ll keep you smiling throughout your read. Tuesday and Ben might’ve been complete opposites, but being with Tuesday made him ‘stop and smell the roses’ rather than being all about his next big deal even though his reason for wanting the hotels was surprisingly sentimental. The parts of the story involving Tuesday’s memories were especially well written and bittersweet but made her smile and you got the sense this was the first time she had been able to think about her mum and remember the good times instead of mourning her loss. Definitely one of my favourite books from this author.
I’m not a huge fan of sole narrations as a rule but Erin Mallon is one of my favourite performers and she produced wonderful performances for this audiobook not only as the effervescent Tuesday, but it was in the taciturn Ben where she really shone. Not only was the male voice she gave him believable but also managed to give him a more than credible English accent as well.
