What’s It About: Tuesday Reynold’s life in New York just fell apart. Her fiance left her, she lost her apartment, and she may lose her job. Tuesday is sent to London to try to earn a spot a the manager track at the bank where she works. During a sightseeing trip, she meets Ben Kelley, a wealthy, handsome Brit. Ben needs a fiance for a business deal, and he offers Tuesday enough money to get her life back on track to play the part. As the pair pretend to be in love, real feelings begin to surface.
Good: I love fake dating books, and An American in London was a great fake dating book. Tuesday and Ben were flirty and fun. The steamy moments were sizzling and the sweet moments were swoony. Plus, the settings were well-written and perfectly elevated the dreaminess of the story.
Bad: This book felt short and the ending felt rushed. It is a complete story that is a satisfying read, but I would have happily read another 50-100 pages.
Bottom Line: A fun fake dating travel romance with sizzling moments that will leave fans of Bay wanting more.

Audio/eBook Review:
An American In London Is British billionaire Ben Kelley and American Tuesday Reynolds mistaken identity romance. I loved everything about this book from the characters to the narration and everything in between. It’s a well written, entertaining and engaging read that took me away from real life.
An accidental meeting where Tuesday mistakes Ben for her teenage crush actor Danielle De Luca which leads to so much more…..
I smiled and I swooned as I cheered this couple on.
Erin Mallon did a great job bringing the characters , the drama, the humour and their story to life. She was spot on with the emotion and was very easy to listen to.
I received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley.

Tuesday has arrived in London after her life in New York blew up. She is ready to concentrate on proving that she is management material. She does not expect to keep running into the same taciturn businessman or to be asked to pose as his fiancee for a weekend. Slowly, Ben begins to open up to the sunshine that is Tuesday, and they fall in love. But she is heading back to New York, and he has to stay in London.
I loved these characters, and Erin Mallon did a fantastic job of acting them out. Her Tuesday is bright and cheerful without being cloying or one dimensional. I could hardly stop listening, and I got teary eyed at the end.

Talk about a cute vacation romance with travel vibes! This one was easy to pick up and read in one sitting. I did half eyeball reading and half audio for this one and Erin Mallon did a fanatic job narrating this book. I think I connected so easy with Tuesday because of her performance!
✨ Grumpy Billionaire
✨ Fake Engagement
✨ Mistaken Identity
✨ Vacation Romance
And this book was adorable… it reminded me of a movie! Tuesday and Ben were so good together. He’s the grumpy British Billionaire and she’s the American in town for work. They meet when she mistakes him for her favorite actor (the whole thing gives me 00s Hugh Grant vibes) and follows him in a park.
In a twist, Ben needs a fake fiancée and their accidental run ins give him a perfect personal to ask for help!
I love how Tuesday was really trying to find herself after a bad break up and Ben was there to help her figure out who she was and make her fall for him. I love how Ben was so grumpy on the begining but did all these sweet things to show her he cared.
The whole book just made me smile. It leaned into “tropes” too as Ben and Tuesday joked about movies and her favorite actor. This is an easy, low spice read perfect for a summer reading list.

Thank you to NetGalley and @BrillianceAudio for this ALC in exchange for an honest review.
An American in London is a total rom-com treat. It's funny, swoony, and packed with heart. If you love fake dating, fish-out-of-water, and a grumpy/sunshine that actually delivers, you’ll love this one. I listened to the audiobook and Erin Mallon absolutely nailed it. She brought Tuesday’s energy, humor, and awkward charm to life, while also making Ben’s broody Britishness feel just the right amount of swoon worthy.
Tuesday is having a full on life meltdown in Manhattan when she’s sent to London for work and ends up getting swept into a fake engagement with a rich, hot, slightly grumpy guy named Ben (who totally has Darcy vibes). All of this to impress a duke and duchess to help Ben’s business, in exchange for a fat payday and some Bridgerton style escapism for Tuesday.
What I loved most is how their relationship develops. It’s not instant love. It’s awkward, slow, and layered with so much chemistry and banter that you actually feel it build. And while it leans into classic rom-com territory, the emotional moments in this book are priceless.
This one hit the sweet spot between laugh-out-loud and “aww”-worthy. Great pacing, great narration, and a satisfying plot that made me smile when it was over.
So if you enjoy a funny, rom-com with fake engagement and the grumpy sunshine trope. This one is for you!
4.25 Stars!

An American In London by Louise Bay💫
This story follows Tuesday, whose life is falling apart back in the States. Her ex-fiancé ran off with a ballerina, and her workplace is on the brink of significant change. She’s been sent to London for a fast-track management program to hold and secure her position at the bank. When she arrives, she stays at a hotel that happens to be hosting a famous actor convention. What happens when she accidentally mistakes a stranger for the actor?
This was such a fun read—and the audiobook was great too. I really enjoyed the grumpy-sunshine dynamic between the characters. Ben was a closed-off aristocrat, while the FMC was lively, constantly teasing him and getting under his skin. But eventually, he couldn’t resist her charm. I loved the reason behind his interest in buying the hotel and how he slowly opened up to Tuesday. The way he kept calling her different days of the week to tease and his way of flirting I loved. I appreciated the slow burn and the grand gesture at the end. Another great story from Louise!

So, so dreamy! An American in London by Louise Bay was a sweet and swoony contemporary romance that simply made my heart go all aflutter. I could not stop grinning while listening to this audiobook, and loved the low angst all-around feel-good nostalgic romantic movie vibes Tuesday and Ben’s romance had to offer.
Erin Mallon performs this entire audiobook, and she is stunning and awe-inspiring as Tuesday! She fully embodied Tuesday’s passions, doubts, and desires as she fell for a broody, career-driven, turned charismatic lover, Ben. Erin’s ability to transition from Tuesday’s upbeat, bubbly persona to portray Ben’s deep, posh British accent was flawless, and made this such an immersive and enjoyable audiobook. She created the perfect amount of tension and longing between Tuesday and Ben to showcase their undeniable chemistry.
Overall, I loved this book! If you are a fan of a strangers-to-lovers romance with a feisty, chatty American heroine, a grumpy, wealthy Brit, work trips, movie star look-alikes, fake fiancé arrangements, London, walled gardens, weekend getaways, he takes her shopping, meeting a Duke and Duchess, grand gesture dinners, recreating her favorite movies, slow burn spice, love declarations, close proximity, and a HEA that is red carpet worthy then you will love Tuesday and Ben’s romance. I always look forward to more from Louise Bay.

Entertaining, sweet & spicy
AN AMERICAN IN LONDON was a fabulous read. Louise Bay delivered an entertaining, sweet, spicy, grumpy/sunshine, fake relationship, slow burn romance which had laughs, swoon, and plenty of romance. If you want a story that reads like a fairytale, then this is the one.
Tuesday Reynolds is a New York banker who is in London to prove her worth and save her job. She's grieving the loss of a decade long relationship and missing her mum, especially since their favourite movie star is in town. Then there's Ben Kelley, the man with the movie star looks, the billionaire businessman who has found himself in a bit of a dilemma. A Duke and Duchess, A need for a business deal, a fake relationship, and an unexpected journey into love, all ensuring a story which captivated my heart.

Erin Mallon was the narrator and her portrayal of both Tuesday and Ben was superb. She certainly knows how to capture her audience's attention and her character's essence. She has an ease when she narrates, capturing the emotions and feelings, the hesitancy and awkwardness, and relays perfectly the building friendship/relationship between Tuesday and Ben.
AN AMERICAN IN LONDON is another wonderful read from Louise Bay.
Read and Reviewed for Reading Is Our Satisfaction

An American in London was such a sweet romance. Tuesday was absolutely adorable and I loved how fierce she was about figuring out her place after her decade long relationship ended. Her desire to explore herself and find what she wants was refreshing and I laughed so hard at her silly antics trying to find her childhood movie star crush. Enter Ben, the movie star look alike and how they keep ending up at the same places. Ben is reserved and shy and I thought it was just adorable how these two ended up together.
I loved the Duke and Duchess and the emotional depth contained within these pages. It was truly just such a fun, sweet, romantic story and I loved all of the characters and the ending had me smiling so hard at how adorable Tuesday and Ben are and how perfect their HEA was for them.
Erin Mallon did a fantastic job voicing all of these characters and really captured the breadth of emotions between them as well as Ben's awkwardness. I felt like I was living this story right along with them.
Thank you to Louise Bay, Netgalley and Brilliance Publishing for the ARC/ALC.

**Audiobook Review**
From the moment this book was announced, I couldn’t wait to listen to it. “An American in London” is a swoony, flirty and heartfelt fake dating billionaire romance that was such a fun listen.
Tuesday Reynolds’ life in NYC has turned upside down when her long time fiance breaks up with her and moves back to Iowa. But her work is sending her to London to prove herself to the new CEO. And one of her first days there, she sees a man who looks like her celebrity crush. And then sees him again the next day. Ben Kelley is a billionaire who has built his wealth and is missing one thing for his portfolio. And he needs a fake fiance to help impress a duke and duchess. The arrangement starts out as planned but as they spend time together, they have a connection neither was expecting. But Tuesday is only in London for a short time and Ben doesn’t do relationships. This is just like the rom-coms Tuesday used to watch with her mom and she’s along for the ride.
This was such a fun book to listen to and I loved that it was all told from Tuesday’s POV. This was a story about finding herself again and needed to be all focused on her. Tuesday is smart, genuine and wants to get the best out of life especially after being dumped by her fiance. London is exactly what she needed at the time. I loved how Tuesday and Ben first met and all the run ins they had after, it was definitely kismet for them. Tuesday was the sunshine while Ben was the classic grump who was focused on one thing. But once she started chipping away at that shell, under was a solid guy with a big heart. And his reasoning for wanting to buy the hotel from the Duke had me swooning hard for him. Their banter had me cracking up but Ben really saw Tuesday for who she was. They got each other from the beginning and were perfect together.
Erin Mallon narrated this audiobook and she did an amazing job. Her narration of Tuesday was fun and genuine just like her. Her male voice is always great and was even better with a British narration for Ben.

Tuesday is hoping to get a leg up at work and maybe turn around her life in New York. Ben is just trying to follow his normal flow and hopes he can convince a family man to sell his hotels.
When Tuesday runs into ben and thinks he's a star from her moms favorite movies she kept help but think its a sign every time she runs into him. He is just trying to ignore her. As a plan hatches he realizes she's not so bad and maybe London Tuesday can find her true self.
This was a cute Grumpy sunshine and what I needed after starting a slump this book pulled me right out and I enjoyed it so much
Thank you Net Galley for this Audio Arc in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Louise Bay delivers another amazing story filled with laughs, serious moments and amazing characters.
What a fun, sweet and delightful story. Ben and Tuesday are quite the pair. They bring out the best in one another and help each other face their challenges. They have amazing banter, chemistry and love for adventure.
Erin Mallon is a go to narrator for me. Her voice is so versatile, strong and she has amazing personality! She gives each of the characters perfect emotion and voice. She is so incredibly talented.
Thank you NetGalley for the complimentary copy.

Omg! This was so good! I got an ALC of this audiobook and I inhaled it! It was so cute! I loved the main characters and several of the side characters, the plot was a bit predictable, but in the very best way. 🥰 It was such a classic romance, filled with plenty of tropes and fake movie references to call out the tropes within the story, which was hilarious! I loved wealthy MMC and normal/struggling FMC, and this was a great example of that.
I also liked that it went deeper than many cute and spicy romances. The characters all had depth to them, with significant backstories that impacted the plot in meaningful ways.
I always love Louise Bay’s books, and this one is no exception. I highly recommend it!
For the audiobook, I enjoyed the narrator. She did an amazing job on injecting emotion into her voice appropriately. It felt very real, and not at all like it was someone reading a book to me, but rather that the FMC was talking to me. She did a good voice for the British MMC too. The only thing I didn’t love was that her voice at the end of her last sentence of each chapter sounded a bit overly dramatic, like she was trying to make the end of each chapter a mini cliffhanger or dramatic pause. But it wasn’t a huge distraction. Overall it was a great audiobook to listen to.

Read and listened to this book, love the story so much but didn’t really connect with the narrator.
Ben and Tuesday story was a delight to read with a mistaken identity and a fake engagement

I loved this audiobook. A woman goes to London for work and ends up finding a man that looks like her childhood celebrity crush! Yes please! The FMC is such a sweet person who always wants to make everyone else happy. I love how far the MMC goes to make her happy. It’s a super sweet story!

Loved the audio. The narrator brought it to life. This was a perfect story to lose yourself in. It had me laughing and crying. I did not want it to end. This was my first book by Louise Bay, I will be reading all her work.

When Tuesday Reynolds finds her life turned upside down because of a cheating fiancé, she makes the decision to head to London for a work training. The hotel she is staying at is hosting a convention celebrating her childhood crush, the British actor, Daniel DeLuca. She's determined to "run" into him while she's there.
Instead of running into him, she meets the grumpy billionaire, Ben Kelley. His broody persona is a perfect match to Tuesday's optimistic outlook on life & although he looks very much like Daniel DeLuca, HE'S the one that ends up making Tuesday truly happy.
The story is told from Tuesday's POV. She's open & honest in her thoughts. She's someone that is willing to share her inner thoughts with others & it's really one of the best things about her. Her transparency for life helps open up Ben to the possibility of love.
Tuesday agrees to help Ben with a business deal he's hoping to close & make his. It's decided that this is just to be a business deal but after spending time together, it becomes clear that there's a genuine attraction between the two.
🎧Let's talk narration: Erin Mallon is extremely talented. She's the perfect voice to breath life into the optimistic, carefree & newly independent character of Tuesday. Her performance was enjoyable & easy to listen to. She did a great job narrating a very sweet story.
The story is told from a single POV but in all honesty, this audio could have greatly benefited from adding a male narrator to read Ben's role, especially since he's British. Erin does a wonderful job voicing multiple female characters & even the British duchess but we needed a male narrator to voice the sultry, British billionaire.

This is my first audio by Louise and it definitely did not disappoint!! I’m so happy I got an early listen this was so so good

This story is everything my Silver Screen loving heart enjoys. Giving off Breakfast at Tiffany vibes. All the charm of old Hollywood style and the sweet cinematic love you’d expect. Ben & Tuesday are simply charming. From his adorable teases of ‘Monday morning’ to the meddling Duke & Duchess. Tuesday really hits home with me. Her reaction to the stationery store is so me! I can’t leave it behind. 🥰 And oh my goodness, her need to make decisions based on others is the most seen I have ever felt. I can literally pinpoint who each milestone was decided on. Seeing Ben’s penchant that she make decisions based on her own needs, even if it’s not what he wants… that was truly beautiful. This is an utterly charming story that will warm your heart and have you booking a flight for your own Roman Holiday, er London Holiday. 😉
Narration was done by Erin Mallon and produced by Brilliance Audio. I greatly enjoyed this audio. It’s been a minute since I’ve listened to solo narration but Erin Mallon did a fabulous job capturing the tone of all characters. She has a way of pulling in like you’re having a conversation with a close friend.
