The plot twists in this book were INSANE!!!! Loved all the characters and getting a peek into how everything on social media is rarely as it seems. Phenomenal story and LOVED the narration. The multiple POVs were amazing as well. NO NOTES. PERFECTION. Perfect ending to a perfect book.

I was so intrigued by this one, especially with all the buzz around the #Tradwife trend lately. From the very first page, I was HOOKED, I literally couldn't put it down!
Thankfully, I grabbed the audiobook too and let me tell you... Lauryn Allman was phenomenal! 🎧 I had it playing while doing chores and carpooling the kids and I didn’t want to press pause.
This thriller was unlike any I’ve read before. The twists came out of nowhere 😲 and the story kept me guessing until the final page. I was honestly sad when it ended! 👏
Highly recommend if you're looking for a sharp, chilling, and fresh thriller!

Interesting title about all the behind the scenes of the Insta world! From a farm-girl, nothing is as clean and pretty as they make it look. It was a great tale of deception, manipulation, and I enjoyed every word. Can't wait to read more by Child!

The title and description of The Tradwife’s Secret by Liane Child immediately grabbed me—and I wasn’t disappointed. The story follows Madison March, a tradwife influencer with a seemingly perfect life: provider husband, well-behaved kids, and a well kept traditional home. But one insider with a secret of her own is about to discover that behind this curated image is a web of lies, and Madison’s carefully constructed world is about to come undone.

This audiobook hooked me from the beginning. I listened to it in one sitting, as the twists kept coming. The characters were compelling and full of secrets. The tension was high and the suspense was satisfying, making it hard to pause even for a moment. This book puts a thrilling twist on what we all suspect is really going on behind every carefully curated and heavily filtered Instagram grid.

While I enjoyed this book overall, I did feel the portrayal of the female characters was lacking something. When revenge and reckoning do arrive, it can feel like a result of circumstance or the actions of others, rather than the women stepping into their own power & seizing agency themselves. With a theme so rooted in feminine identity and autonomy, it would have been more powerful to see these characters truly show their strength.

Regarding the narration, the voice itself was pleasant and well-paced, but the strange choice of a, frankly, forced sounding southern accent didn’t match the western Montana setting and this often pulled me out of the narrative. It honestly felt like the narrator saw the ranch setting and just went for a stereotypical “cowboy” voice. I think I would have enjoyed this book more on the page.

If you love a twisty domestic suspense with a modern edge, The Tradwife’s Secret is well worth your time.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

You knew from that exceptional cover exactly what kind of guilty pleasure you were getting yourself into, and this did not disappoint. From the cookie cutter villian(s) to the "twist" that literally could not have been anything else, this was deeply satisfying in the shallowest possible way.

I'm not one to follow influencers on IG or other platforms, let alone a story about Tradwife's, but I found the storyline line interesting.

I enjoyed the twists and turns.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC audiobook. Trad wives stories full of twists and turns. The story started out strong and had a decent twist. Story could have been shorter and gotten more bang for the buck. There are a few twists and the story could have done with a few less. Overall, I would suggest reading the book if one is interested in the trad wife era.

This book was so good! The behind the scenes look into the influencer life was very interesting and the story was gripping! So much going on and so many people to not like.

Look. Tradwife life is a nightmare to me under the very best of circumstances, so I expected to be truly horrified by this book (unless the secret was that the tradwife believed in science or basic human rights for all or was vegan or something). Since none of these is her titular secret, suffice it to say that this book really does bring the horror to modern women and the thrills to those who want to pop in a time machine to the '50s or whatever.

Madison is the tradwife influencer of the moment, but as younger, more social media savvy women start to become known, her luster is getting a bit lost. Her trash bag of a husband doesn't help her situation at all, and the rest of her family situation brings major concerns, too, though readers are likely to be more disturbed by many events than most of the characters are. When a new tutor comes along, she represents a risk for leaks, despite whatever she may have signed to prevent them. Will this bizarro family maintain their public personas? How bad are the things they are doing? What IS the tradwife's secret? All of these questions merge into the center of this sinister plot as the novel progresses.

While the plots are entirely different, this book is giving _Mother May I Dance with Danger_ realness (IYKYK) in the drama and camp departments, and in the same way that's over the top and still fun to watch, this is still a fun read. I enjoyed it and never want to be it!

I received the audio version advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed this story. There were some twists, and the book kept my attention the whole time. The narrator had a pleasant voice. It was a little hard to keep track of the different POV’s with the audio but it wasn’t terrible. Overall it was an enjoyable listen and I’d recommend.

I really enjoyed this one! It’s scary AF as it gives a glimpse into a a certain aspect of a lifestyle that 100% exists and its frightening and sad. This is a case where fiction and reality go head to head and it looks unbelievable but reality wins out.

I became interested in this book after being offered it from the publisher and I agreed to read it especially after reading the non-fiction book “A Well-Trained Wife” by Tia Levings. It gave me the opportunity to read my preferred fiction but with a topic that piqued my interest.

As I waited for my physical ARC I requested the audiobook ALC from NetGalley and listened to it.
I enjoyed the narrator Lauryn Allman for the most part with the exception of her “male voice” which just didn’t hit the mark.
The overall production however was enjoyable and I enjoyed listening to the story in the audio format.
This book comes out May 22 2025

I am thankful to have gotten a complimentary audio ALC from Harper Audio through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

Madison March is the perfect wife, with the perfect family and the perfect life.
She lives in Montana with her husband Michael and four kids Molly, Milo, Mason, and Mia. Her best friend/maid Laura and her two tech gurus also live with her, as well as new tutor Kyla (last tutor slept with her husband Michael).

Madison March has millions of followers on Instagram because she is a traditional wife who feels her husband is the head of the household and what he says goes… Or else. Madison is so fearful of losing traction and followers every photo must be perfect and she will do anything to keep it this way.
As we all know things are not the way they appear on social media posts – everything is staged; however the millions of followers see her life as perfect and are jealous.
The reviews are all over the place with this one. Many love as many don’t.
Madison and her fake perfect life was easy to find unlikeable. In fact, most of the characters in this story were unlikeable.

I thought from the blurb it would be a fun read. I was wrong and ready to give up.

However when Brianna’s story and her POV immerged I was curious.
~ Brianna, ran away with high school boyfriend Jonah (that has me question – Why?) They aren’t married and her family has given up on her.
She is having a hard time adjusting to her new life and notices many women using Instagram who seem to have it all. Brianna decides to reach out to the group.
This part of the story is where the thriller part develops.
The ending was something I never suspected.

The Tradwife's Secret follow Madison March a social media influencer. Madison is a mother of four soon to be five and a Trad Wife to rancher in Montana. Madison has more than one secret that she will do anything to hide from both her husband Michael and all of her followers. Madison relies on a few people in her intercircle to help her look that the perfect trad wife on her social accounts. Laurie is one of them and goes out of her way to do anything for Madison and her "brand". This was a very good audiobook and makes you wonder just how the other half really live. This book has a few twists that I'm sure you wouldn't even think was possible. I would like to thank both NetGalley and HarperCollins Publishers for letting me listen to an advanced copy of this audiobook.
