I listened to The Tradwife’s Secret on audiobook, and let me just say—it was such a gripping experience. The narration was strong, and it really brought the story and characters to life. I felt like I was right there, watching it all unfold, and that made it so easy to stay engaged from beginning to end.
This story was layered and suspenseful, with just enough slow burn to keep me guessing. I loved how it peeled back the perfect image of the “tradwife” and exposed what was really going on underneath. As a 40-year-old woman who appreciates complex female characters and a good domestic twist, this hit the mark for me.
I’m giving it 5 out of 6 stars—because it definitely held my attention and kept me coming back for more every time I had a moment to plug in my earbuds. The 5th star is for something that completely shakes me or lingers for days after—and while this one didn’t hit that level for me, it was still a really solid, entertaining listen.
If you enjoy audiobooks with a little mystery, drama, and commentary on modern womanhood, definitely add this one to your list.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator is one of my favorites, she did just as good as she always does! I honestly didn’t know what to expect from this book, I saw who the narrator was, read a few keywords in the synopsis and requested it on the spot. I listened to the book almost nonstop and finished it in less than 12 hours. Loved it all the way through and big surprises throughout. Highly recommend this one and I’m hoping the author writes another book soon!

Well, I had to google Tradwife, but was fully into the premise and ready to dive in. I guess I should have presupposed that the conservative Christian husband wouldn't just be those two things, but mean, abusive, oppressive and patriarchal as well. Anyway, I was still up for the story to see what would happen...and what the big secret was. With a semi-strong start introducing lots of interesting characters (although none especially likable) it just began to fall flat for me. If you're looking for a quick read or listen about Tradwives this will likely be right up your alley.
I thought the narrator did a decent job capturing different accents and genders.
Thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins for this ARL. All opinions are mine.

I suppose what happens at the beginning could be called a red herring it had me expecting something very to happen. I listened to the audiobook and was immediately pulled in by the narration, but it quickly became clear that everything is not what it seems. There were so many unpredictable twists that kept me guessing the entire time.
Some parts were genuinely hard to listen to. Certain characters were so horrid and their actions so vile that I had to pause and take a breath. It’s dark, unsettling, and emotionally intense at times. After finishing, I went back and listened to the prologue and that moment brought everything full circle.
I received a complimentary copy of this ebook. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Good old tradwife thriller twist. Def looked into the political leaning of trad wife and ...basically how sus being a SAHM could be. That said I def enjoyed the twists! I think the biggest "thriller" part of this is knowing that there are women out there who is living this life. This isn't fiction for some people, this is in fact their life.

Oh the chills this story brought from start to finish.‘I could not put this book down. It was so creepy and so eery that I had to know how it ended quickly!

This was a great read that kept you guessing and all the twists and turns were so much fun! I don’t think I have ever read a plot similar and that’s always a win for me! 4 starts because I guessed the ending pretty early on but overall, fast paced read and great narrator

This book had me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed it a great deal and the characters were interesting. Each twist was surprising and unexpected. The main character is a trad wife, who is glamorizing the lifestyle with a high social media presence. But all is not what it seems to the outside world. Danger is lurking on the doorsteps of this false fairytale she is spinning. Her husband is rich and very much in control and head of household. With their kids in their gender roles. Fans loving her and other disapproving her message. Many deadly secrets are hiding behind the scenes of each home grown baked pie. I enjoyed this so much, and I am looking forward to what is next from this author.

3.5 ⭐️
Ok I had to totally look up, "tradwife." I'm not up-to-date with all these social media terminologies. It's basically just a "traditional wife." Now, this peaked my interest!
Madison is an instagrammer with over 1 million followers. She seems to have a perfect life living as a a "traditional wife." She is married to an ultra rich Montana rancher, has 4 children (she home schools), cooks and keeps her house all nice and beautiful. Is it all true? She has Lori who is helping her with cooking and Cally who is the tutor for the children while Madison minds her account. We are also introduced to Brianna who is a teenager who has run away from home to live on a homestead with her boyfriend. Brianna seems to idolize Madison. In alternating chapters we hear from Madison, Lori, Cally, and Brianna. The narrator did a very fine job!
I was entertained all throughout this story. It reminds me a bit of a LifeTime movie. That's not bad but just not as "thrilling" as I usually like although the ending was rather dramatic. I liked that I didn't guess the twist. It was good!

Definitely not the book I expected from the title, but I enjoyed it. Trad wives can be twisty, too! This was an interesting take on what it takes to go/stay viral.

I liked this book. It was a peek into the Trad wife lifestyle but with a twist. The story is told thru several well developed characters. The ending was predictable but enjoyable.

The twists! I like all the tradwife and homesteading stuff so I really enjoyed this audiobook. It also goes to show that not everything you see online is as it appears !

Rating: ★½ (1.5/5)
The Trad Wife’s Secret dragged—literally. The audiobook at 1x speed felt like it was crawling, and I found myself comfortably listening at 3x just to stay awake. The story itself was unnecessarily long, padded with dull moments that made it hard to stay invested. Yes, the final twists offered a bit of a spark, but they weren’t nearly strong enough to justify the slow, winding road to get there.
If you're expecting a gripping domestic thriller… don't hold your breath.

3.5 rounded to 4.
I am not a fan of the whole tradwife trend (?) and am against its oppressive system of beliefs. This story was more about the shady background, false narratives, and performance of the tradwife, Madison March, and the unraveling of her phony social media persona.

This was a really well written twisty mystery. I enjoyed the character development for Madison, Lorie, and Callie. This was a timely topic and I was hooked from the get go. I got lost in the story and found I wasn't jumping ahead to try to figure it out, so some of the twists caught me by surprise. I loved it and will be recommending to to everyone!

Domestic Bliss—or Something More Sinister?
The Tradwife’s Secret is an eerie, slow-burning domestic suspense that peels back the picture-perfect facade of influencer life. Madison March appears to be living the dream—sourdough, sunsets, and a seemingly flawless family life on a Montana homestead. But from the beginning, there’s a creeping sense that not everything is as idyllic as it seems.
I listened to the audiobook and found the narration well-paced and atmospheric—it added just the right amount of tension to the unfolding mystery. The story explores themes of control, curated reality, and the darker side of “tradwife” culture in a way that felt timely and thought-provoking.
That said, I struggled to connect deeply with the characters, and some twists felt predictable. The plot moved a bit slowly at times, and I wished for more intensity or deeper emotional stakes as the truth unraveled.
Still, it’s an intriguing listen if you enjoy domestic thrillers that tap into social media culture and the masks we wear for public consumption.

This book was interesting. It’s not often I think of the homestead community or what all goes into being a social media influencer, but this book has both of those AND a mystery all mixed together. I will say however there were times that I predicted what was going to happen, the ending though I did not see that coming! This was definitely enjoyable and well worth the read.

This is the trad wife thriller we have all been waiting for! Through the book, there is a dark undertone, though we don’t exactly know why. The narrator of the audiobook drives the story forward and you cannot stop listening. The characters present a wide variety of personalities and interests that will keep readers needing more and needing to know their back stories. This book keeps you guessing until the very end and is worth the reward of a classic thriller ending.

The narrator did good but I still hate the actual story.
I’m sorry but this book is horrible. I admit that I’ve only read like 25% of it but good grief it’s awful. I’m sure there are a few women who would live like Madison but there can’t be many. And she’s by far not perfect. Her instagram is based on lies. Her life is a lie. Her husband is a jerk. Even the help are awful.
The children are possibly the only innocents and they are being taught how women are beneath men. That they are pawns for men. Women can’t have any kind f of freedom.
I won’t be finishing this one. It’s just two deep into male superiority for me.
Thank you to the publisher for this arc.
The extra star is for the narrator.

The Tradwife’s Secret offered a thought-provoking audiobook narrative. It delves into the hidden complexities beneath a seemingly idyllic domestic facade, culminating in a surprising twist. Liane Child’s insightful exploration of character psychology adds depth to this engaging story.
