Psychosis Diagnosis by Nikki Minty, has a great plot following a young man called Monroe, who while living in an abusive family situation, becomes fixated on a young girl who lives next door to his mother within a cult group. She asks for Monroe’s help to escape but then disappears. After being admitted to a psychiatric hospital for many years, he vows to find Indi, and prove she was real.
Brilliant plot, brilliant voice actors, it all brings the characters to life in a fantastic way!! Big shout out to Jodie Harris, Karen Chilton, James Fouhey, Ari Maza Long and Tamblyn Lord, thanks for bringing this book to life for me!

This book was everything! I absolutely loved the narrators and the nop-notch voice acting. The story had so much depth; it was told from multiple viewpoints, on multiple timelines, and even throughout the jumping back and forth, it all ended up coming together! The paranormal was infused so well and believably that I became totally invested in the story. The character development was also top-notch! Where did the author come from? She is a genius! I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to read more. Very thankful to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This audiobook has a full cast of narrators (Jodie Harris, Karen Chilton, James Fouhey, Ari Maza Long and Tamblyn Lord), which really brought this horrifying story to life. It is a rather creepy listen at times, with plenty of psychological suspense.
Featuring religious extremism/cult vibes, inpatient mental health treatment, voodoo/dark magic, drug-induced psychosis, family secrets, and some mind-bending twists. This story is told from multiple perspectives, through dual-timeline, and set between New Orleans and Australia. The narrators depicted the varying accents well.
With thanks to BooksGoSocial Audio and NetGalley for this advaced listening copy, in exchange for an honest review.

After listening to this, I am definitely on the lookout for more Nikki Minty stories!

Omg I loved this audiobook!! I’m not usually into ghost stories but the way this story was told, it didn’t feel like a “traditional” ghost story. It was so much more than that. My heart went out to Monroe and I loved him from the start. There were so many twists and turns that kept me guessing the whole way through! The narrators were excellent, the use of multiple narrators elevated the story to a whole other level. I felt like I was really there. Definitely a 5 star read.

This could make a good film. A lot is going on in the plot but it isn’t confusing, on the contrary it’s fresh and exciting because it’s paced perfectly and includes many perspectives. The dark themes are engaging and not depressing at all, thanks to the many good hearted characters. I loved the ending. I loved the book. My friend and I are looking forward to reading more from Nikki Minty.

Loved the twisted timelines, loved the audiobook and different voice actors. The intrigue kept me interested throughout, but I think the marketing should focus more on the witchcraft/cult angle

I almost DNF but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did!
The first part of the story (everything up until Shana enters the narrative) was a bit dry, confusing, and didn't really hold my interest. But then Shana enters the story and it got gripping! I thoroughly enjoyed the different narrators who voiced the various characters--it did help keep everything straight.
Thank you to Net Galley for the ALC

This book really had it all. Conspiracy? ✔️ Murder? ✔️ Magic? ✔️ The first couple of chapters as things were getting set up, I was a little confused but incredibly intrigued. When I realized what was going on, SHOOK. I listened to the audiobook version, and the narrators did a great job conveying the crazy that was going on. There was a bit of timeline jumping, but the author did a great job making clear who's perspective we were in and what year/years we were experiencing. Overall I really enjoyed the very wild ride that was Psychosis Diagnosis.

I just didn’t understand this book. I had no idea what was going on through the entire thing lol. The narrators were good though.

I got the opportunity to listen to an ARC of Psychosis Diagnosis. It could totally be adapted into a horror movie! AMAZING! I really enjoyed the whole cast of narrators, it made the story come to life and I was even able to play a mini movie in my head. I was unable to stop listening. It catches your attention right at the start! It was the perfect mix between Mystery and horror!
Thank you NetGalley, The publisher and Nikki Minty for the opportunity to Listen to Psychosis Diagnosis!

The big cast of narrators really added depth to the production value of this. It was fantastic how in each POV chapter, the specific actor still did their character’s lines and not the narrator of the current chapter putting on a voice (especially a man voicing a woman). The accents felt authentic and the flashback chapters truly felt like a window into the past.
However, as far as the plot goes, I initially got very lost. The alternating perspectives and timeline made me lose track of which story was which, and it took me until Shana joined the story to fully get a grip on what was happening. However, sticking through it paid off. The plot really came together and the suspense built to a crescendo. It was a mix of horror and mystery in the best way.
If you want to read this, definitely go for the audiobook to get the full experience.
Thank you to BooksGoSocial Audio and NetGalley for this audiobook; all opinions are my own.

4.5 stars
Thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial Audio for the ALC of this audiobook.
I really enjoyed this book and the characters in it were really interesting. I felt like there was depth and nuance to them.
Some parts of the plot were a bit obvious and the climax felt a little rushed, but that didn’t take away from the story.
I sympathized for Monroe so much. He was dealt such a rough hand in life. I loved his POVs.
This does jump POVs and time a little bit, but the chapter always tells you who it is and when. I liked seeing how things from the past brought about things in present day.
The narrators all did great as well. I would highly recommend this audiobook. Especially for those who enjoy stories that involve cults, the occult and the paranormal.

A Gripping Listen!
Psychosis Diagnosis by Nikki Minty is a thrilling and intense audiobook that kept me hooked from start to finish. The narration was excellent, bringing the characters and suspense to life. The story is unique, fast-paced, and full of unexpected twists. Highly recommend for fans of psychological thrillers!

Now this book is a wild ride! Monroe grew up under harsh conditions with a drug addicted mother. One night a young woman comes to him saying she was being abused by her father. He of course, tries to aid her but things blow up and he finds himself in jail. It makes you wonder if Monroe is crazy or if you yourself is crazy.

Nikki Minty's "Psychosis Diagnosis" follows the fallout of a cult in a small Australian town. Monroe, raised by his mother who is an addict, is determined to get away and start fresh with his half-sister. When a strange girl, supposedly from next door, asks for his help to escape her family's cult, he is dragged deep into a mystery that has been brewing his entire life.
I'm a sucker for a horror story with a cult at its center. I will always pick one up, just to see what tropes are in use or what new developments an author has come up with. Same for horror movies. The basic plot behind this story was good: a cult leader who is a sorcerer, using his parishioners' lives to keep himself young. Monroe was a decent hero, trying to overcome adversity to do the right thing.
The perspective switches among several characters on both sides of the story. This can be a weakness at times, as certain characters end up summarizing in their point of view what we've just read in another. I also found the inclusion of Monroe's grandmother as a stereotypical wise woman of color you get in these stories. She could have been more developed.
The voice talent was mixed. That of the character Enzo, a New Orleans native, was a little over the top for me, since I lived in that town for nearly a decade and a half. Conversely, the Australian characters felt fine because I've only experienced those accents through media, and the author is Australian.
I enjoyed this book, but parts of it just didn't really jive with me. I received the audiobook from NetGalley.

Okay so—this book was *definitely* unlike anything I’ve read before! I don’t usually dive into paranormal horror, so I went in with absolutely no expectations… but wow, I had *so much fun* with it. The whole dark magic vibe? Creepy, mysterious, and somehow totally addicting. It was fresh and thrilling in a way that kept me flipping through the pages, curious to see what would happen next.
All of the characters had their own intrigue, and the eerie atmosphere was something I didn’t know I’d enjoy this much. Honestly, I *adore* how this book pushed me out of my comfort zone—it was such a pleasant surprise!
That said, I do wish it had been just a little bit shorter. At times it felt like it dragged a little, and trimming down some of the pages could’ve made it tighter and even more impactful. But hey, since this was my first taste of the genre, I won’t complain too much—it still ended up being a great experience overall.
So if you’re like me and haven’t really explored paranormal horror yet, maybe give this one a shot. It might just pull you in and leave you wanting more. I’m honestly excited to check out more books like this now!

This was an interesting horror story with supernatural twists, mixed with a great mystery.
The story follows several characters through different timelines as they discover the truth about their lives, their past and their origins.
I loved listen to the audiobook, the narrators were fantastic and really brought this story to life!
This book was creepy, with all the supernatural elements and a bit terrifying, as it delves more and more into the mental health elements.
My only issue regarding the rating, this should have been definitely 4 stars, it's the pacing that's a bit slow and the fact that I got confused several times while listening, specially in the beginning due to the different timelines.
I really love the vibes, story, horror elements, the fact that it has diverse characters and the narrators.
Thank you to NetGalley, author Nikki Minty and narrators Jodie Harris, Karen Chilton, James Fouhey, Ari Maza Long, Tamblyn Lord, and BooksGoSocial for thisaudio advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I received this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a solid mystery thriller with supernatural elements. The first thing to note is don’t judge this book by its cover, it is far more complex and interesting than the cover implies. We have three main POV’s two young men and one single mom all dealing with complicated family and relationships. The audiobook had a full cast as well. It was a little slow and repetitive in the middle, but I would recommend this intriguing mystery.

Thank you for the Advanced copy of Psychosis Diagnosis.
As someone fairly new to this genre, it was a pleasant experience to listen to (as pleasant as a supernatural horror can be that is).
Had I had the book copy (or ebook) to accompany the audio, I think I would have been able to follow through with the wide amount of characters a bit better.
Nonetheless it was still fairly easy to follow through, the storytelling was well done and it kept on captivated throughout the whole book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to listen to Psychosis Diagnosis by Nikki Minty. The story really had me questioning everything—I was so convinced at one point that Indi might not even be real! The whole time I was going back and forth trying to figure out if Monroe was just seeing things or if this girl was actually being abused and hidden. That uncertainty kept me locked in. I also really liked how the full cast narration brought even more emotion to the story. Definitely a great pick for fans of psychological fiction that keeps you guessing.
