As soon as I finished An Alaskan Christmas, I was desperate for more from Jennifer Snow. Let me be clear, they are two totally different books. Going in, I knew Fighting for Keeps is part of the Harlequin Heartwarming Reads. My guess was these reads are sweeter, more tender & less on the steam. Well, I was right.

While I wanted lots of hot & heavy steam, I didn't get it. That's okay. I reset my expectation about halfway through & I still enjoyed this story. It's definitely got some Raising Helen vibes.

I do love how Jennifer Snow writes characters who are flawed & real. I mean, the main female smokes cigarettes.

She's got other bad habits & is still doing her best. You know her, I know her & these characters make these romances more believable to me.

THE VERDICT
If less steamy HEA stories are your thing, Jennifer delivers the goods. I'm still looking forward to reading more of her backlist!
