Darcy Lennox has faced her fair share of misfortune, growing up in a broken family without a true place to call home. To pursue her dream of owning her own flat, she applies for a job as a personal assistant to her old school friend, Max, seeking the stability of full-time employment. Little did she expect, however, to find herself caught up in Max's scheme to win over a client by pretending to be his bride.

Maximiliano Fonseca, hailing from a wealthy family, found himself living on the streets following his parents' separation. Determined to prove himself, he worked tirelessly and became a renowned billionaire financier, living by the mantra "Everyone has a price." Driven by personal motivations, he dedicated himself to constant work, doing whatever it took to succeed.

This book delivers everything one could desire in a romance, from the sizzling chemistry and tantalizing sexual tension to the depth of emotions between the characters. Both Darcy and Max have intriguing backgrounds, marked by challenging upbringings and emotional scars, albeit for different reasons.
