This is a really great book that goes from one persons quest for information about her father, to something way bigger and more dangerous.
i loved how this girl was looking for something, just anything to explain what happened to her father and why and how then suddenly this whole other world and set of adventures(dangerous ones) opened up in front of her.
it was really cool to see how the unveilings were so seamlessly done. they didnt feel like it was overdoing it or cliche. it just felt that this was a man and world she didnt think or know possible. we all know these underbelly's are out there. not often we wish to be involved in it. but what if one of our family was? do we stop? turn a blind eye? could you ever just not know.
and then how she was too far in so the choices of turning away were no longer available to Sofia and that must be the scariest place of all to be.
a great book. very original plot for me and i really appreciate the talent it takes to make these kind of plots of a believability. and our main character helped that along so much. she was clever and quick but also driven by so much of her emotional connection to this it gave her a strength and edge. but also a connection for the audience to feel and see.
