A first in a series book! As someone who loves the show Heartland, I was completely giddy over Emily's unique talent to understand horses. Due to her father's death she moves to Montana and meets Gade. Gade has also experienced a great loss. I love the great detail that went into describing Montana and the ranches. The romance is well done and not over the top. I would definitely read the other books in the series.

This was my first time reading anything by Isabella White, and unfortunately, Heart of Montana was a DNF for me after the first chapter.
The premise had so much potential — a romance set on a Montana ranch with horses, small-town charm, and all the ingredients I usually enjoy. But sadly, it just didn’t deliver. The main character came across as immature, and I struggled to connect with her. I usually enjoy flawed or complex leads, but in this case, her voice felt more grating than relatable.
The writing itself didn’t grab me, and there were a few distracting issues early on — including a glaring typo where the male main character’s name was spelled differently in one chapter name. Speaking of which, his name felt unnecessarily out-there and actually took me out of the story every time I read it.
It’s disappointing because the setting had real potential, and I wanted to love this one. But overall, this book didn’t hook me, and I decided to put it down rather than push through. That said, I might give Isabella White another try in the future to see if a different story clicks better for me.

18% in, there are so many characters I can’t keep them straight and the two main characters haven’t even been in the same room yet.

I loved this book. My inner 10 year old horse girl was swooning at this book (I had a brief obsession with horses as a child, don’t ask). It was such a fun read and I loved both main characters. The build up was great and I can’t wait to read more about Gabe and Em’s romance. This book made me want to go to a nearby horse farm and find me my own cowboy to sing country songs to- don’t tell my city slicker husband 😂.

This was a hard DNF before the first chapter even ended. The FMC seemed very juvenile while being 22...... as well as the shock of everything that happens within the first three pages... it was a WILD choice but was not something that drew me in, instead it pushed me away.

The story centers around Emily Mulberry and Gadrienne/Gade Jemmerson.
After Emily’s father commits suicide, she leaves the past behind and the mental disease diagnosis. Maybe her ability to speak to horses makes her a horse whisperer and not a crazy woman. Horses are her present and will be her future.
Gade is a rancher who owns the ranch next to where Emily is now living, lost everything meaningful to him and has no desire to fall in love again.
From the moment these two meet there is a connection .
But for this reader, the connection between the storyline and myself , was not there.
That said, kudos to the author for tackling the subject of mental illness and its effects on the individual and those who love them. Also, the description of Montana brought the state to light.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Fire Quill Publishers. The opinions expressed are solely my own,

Emily Mulberry is at a loose end; her father has died, and they are moving to Montana to live with her aunt's family. Emily's father was abusive and had her treated for mental health issues all because she could understand horses.
Gadrienne Jemmerson lives on the ranch next door and meets the young woman; he is not interested in dating since his wife died.
As Emily has stopped taking the medicine her father demanded she take she is now starting to feel like her old self. She meets Gadrienne while out exploring her aunt's ranch.

Gade and Emily
Emily loses her dad to suicide, along with her home. She moves to Montana where she meets Gade. Gade lost his wife, so his past is of loss as well.
Emily relates to the horses. She is the “Horse Whisperer”.
The book is rich in detail and the vivid imagery on the pages is easy to picture what is happening as you read.
Gade is a wonderful man for Emily. The romance is not over the top. There were times a lot of information was thrown at me, but it is the first book in the series and that is expected. Overall, a nice read.
I will definitely read more of this series.
Thank you NetGalley and Fire Quill publishers for an advanced readers copy

Lets start by saying that this Montana ranch setting story has a really fun concept and it had lots of promise (if you’re a horse girl this is especially so)… I also didn’t want to DNF it because it was fast paced enough to want to finish it and I thought the romance between the characters was cute which saved it a bit. But for me, the writing felt all over the place sometimes without there being a consistency in the writing flow. Can’t get a feel for some of the minor characters which is a bit of a shame I think. Despite there being some fun elements present, this unfortunately just wasn’t for me overall seeing :(
I want to thank the publisher and netgalley for providing me with an arc of this book in exchange of me giving an honest review.
As always, I do feel that a review shouldn’t be leading for other readers and if you’re interested in this story, you should definitely give it a go when it releases :)
#sexy cowboys
#Montana ranch setting
# horse girl who can talk to horses

I received an ARC from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I enjoyed Emily and Gades characters however the storyline and dialogue were sometimes hard to follow. Were the horses talking or the people talking. I felt Thomas was a bit unrealistic and how his family put up with his attitude ai am not sure.
I thought Em and Gade were perfect for each other but the meat and bones of the story/structure were just not for me.

Unfortunately, Heart of Montana didn’t quite capture my attention as I had hoped. The premise promised an engaging story but I felt the narrative didn’t fully live up to its potential.
The writing style struck me as overly descriptive at times, which made the pacing feel slow and hindered my immersion in the story. Additionally, the tone felt somewhat juvenile, which might not resonate with readers looking for a more emotionally mature or nuanced romance.
That said, I do appreciate the author's effort in painting vivid settings and crafting well-meaning characters. Readers who enjoy light romances with richly detailed environments may still find enjoyment in this book.
While this story wasn’t the right fit for me, I understand that every reader's taste is different, and others might connect with it!

This book was beautifully written. I never read anything like this before. Emily and Gade were amazing. Oh and Travis and Armani, I just fell in love with all the characters.

3.5 stars.
Thankyou Netgalley for the opportunity to read this arc. Expect an honest, unbiased review from me, always.
FMC is misdiagnosed with schizophrenia, mistreated by her father and suffers greatly all because she understands abd can talk to horses. MMC is a rancher with his own sad past.
FMCs family lose their home, finding out why only after the dad commits suicide and so they move away to another state, montana. FMC stops taking her medication and is convinced to embrace her gift, being able to talk to and understand horses, becomes a bonfire "horse whisperer"
Be ready for LOTS of god talk. It can get to be a bit much when you're not used to it, like I'm not.
It's an interesting read, solid story line, definitely touches in subjects like mental health, loneliness, cultural representation etc. It's a good solid read with a sweet romance and complex storyline.

Isabella's does good romance with real adult issues. our couple was not without their issues or their pasts. and i really felt how theyd fitted into the lives tey now felt they had to lead to be safe inside their own protective walls. but life and love doesnt work on your own plan or timelines sometimes. because sometimes love can heal more than you know. sometimes love and finding your person truly is the missing piece and the reason you can do the impossible. but for our couple this will mean taking some huge chances. on themselves and eachother. it will mean being brave. but maybe with all theyve been through they need to realise how strong they actually are.
a great read with a fab details of work on the ranch which felt really immersive for the reader. it added lots of visuals so i could see just how their ranches and lives were playing out day to day.

I like Emily's gift, but the writing leaves a lot to be desired. There are so many characters that it's hard to understand who they are, especially at the beginning. The story between the main characters develops too quickly, and although it's the first of a series of books, I don't like that the story is left hanging so much.
Thanks to NetGalley for an advance copy of this book.

This book did not disappoint as I really enjoy reading any type of small town or cowboy romance. I loved this authors writing style and the story and characters pulled me right into the book

I like the premise and the character development, but I hated being left hanging... I understand that it's a series and this is the first book, but I feel like it's more common these days for series to be interconnected standalones than an actual continuation of the same characters' development.. This could have easily been a standalone novel with some editing to cut down on the verbose-ness.

This quick read really captures the feel of life on a ranch—sometimes other cowboy romances gloss over the day in a life.
That being said, the story was a bit hard to follow at times due to unclear dialogue and a few typos. The romance moved fast—almost too fast—with the characters falling for each other after barely speaking. Some reactions, like giggling, felt out of place, and some of the dialogue felt elementary.
Still, Emily’s gift is interesting so if you enjoy suspending your disbelief with your cowboy romance, this one might be worth the ride.

"Heart of Montana" was absolutely amazing. I was looking for another cowboy romance to read and the cover jumped out at me. It was unlink any of book I've read. Emily's gift was so fun to read about (it's so hard to write a review without spoilers) and Gade was the perfect Jemmerson for her. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Me hizo falta. Ojalá hubiera uno que cierre la historia con más claridad.
Dudo leer a Thomas, el tipejo es un asco.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest.
