I hadn't read the Hope Street Church Series before, and feel that the book is fine as a stand alone. However, I will be going back to read the previous stories to get to know the characters better.
Cooper, who is a part of a church bible study group and lives on her parents property, is involved with helping the police solve a murder at one of her grandmother's friends home. The older women are suspects for a period, as well as others in town. The local policeman does warn her that "things are not what they seem", and does let her know that one of her "suspects" is not. The story is well written & moves along. Who the murderer was is not obvious from the start, which makes for better guessing.
Thanks to NetGalley, Ms Adams & Ms Radcliffe, and Beyond the Page Publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

(Hope Street Church Mysteries Book 9)
Book 9 of 9: Hope Street Church Mysteries
Welcome back to Hope Street Church, where friendships are formed, fresh starts are encouraged, and mysteries are solved . . .

When an unscrupulous real estate agent tries to strong-arm a wealthy friend of Grammy Lee’s into selling her stately home, Cooper and her Bible study friends are called in to investigate—before any crime has been committed. Grammy’s fear is that the man is so devious he’ll try to bump off her friend in order to get his hands on the estate. But before Cooper and the gang can do much more than confirm he’s as sketchy as Grammy suspects, someone else takes matters into their own hands and takes the agent out of the picture, permanently.

The Bible study group knows that even the wicked deserve justice, so they continue to investigate, this time to catch a killer. There’s a full roster of service staff heading up their list of suspects, along with the elderly home owner herself. Then Cooper learns that the feds have taken an interest in the case, and suddenly she and her friends begin to worry they’re in real danger. Because nothing about this case is what it seems, and while charity may begin at home, this home is full of secrets that may cost Cooper her life . . .

Dying to Sell by Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe is the ninth A Hope Street Church Mystery. I believe the best way to read this series is in order, but Dying to Sell can be read as a standalone. This series has great characters. The characters are realistic and relatable. The cast of characters is not overwhelming. I like how the Bible study group are friends and are there for each other. I just love Grammy, and I enjoyed learning more about her in this story. I followed Cooper and the gang as they set out to solve the mystery. There were several suspects to consider. Cooper and the gang with their varied backgrounds, knowledge, and skill sets make a great sleuthing team. There is a tense reveal. Faith is woven throughout the story. It is central to the character’s lives which I love. Gratitude was the current lesson for the Bible study group, and I enjoyed it as well (I marked some great Bible passages). My favorite line was, “Gratitude is all about recalling all the things God has done in our lives and being thankful.” It is important to remember to thank God in the good times and the bad. There is humor as well as romance. Despite Cooper’s sleuthing capabilities, she missed some glaring clues as to a special surprise people were working on behind her back. I closed Dying to Sell with a smile on my face.

I’ve read the book right before this one in this series. I’ve read other books by Adams. I really love cozy mysteries. This was a quick read, but I loved it. I would definitely check out more books by these authors!

I didn't realize this was a part of a series, but if you messed up like me, it's okay because you won't feel lost! There are Chrisitan themes to this though, so if you are uncomfortable with that, stay away.

I found the Bible study group to be endearing and charming in their own way. The mystery was cozy and didn't leave me with palpitations. I liked the dynamic between Cooper and Chef Jon. I also really liked the dynamic between Cooper and Grammy. If you want a fun weekend read - pick up this one!

In the latest Hope Street mystery, Cooper and her Bible Study group are trying to keep a shady real estate agent from taking advantage of Grammy Lee's friend, Esme. When Grammy Lee, Esme and their friend, Doris, find the shady agent murdered in Esme's home the group try to find the killer and protect the three ladies. But no one is what they seem.

I thoroughly enjoy every installment of the Hope Street series. The characters feel like friends and reading how they have all changed and their relationships have evolved is only part of what makes this series one of my favorites. There is humor, history and a mystery that always keeps me guessing. I highly recommend Dying to Sell and the entire Hope Street series to all cozy mystery readers.

Grammy Lee asks Cooper to get the Bible Group's help for her good friend Esme. Esme's granddaughter is engaged to a real estate man, Ronald, who wants to sell Esme's house. Esme invites the bible group to her birthday party which is catered by Maggie's Marvels, and the bible group all agree that something has to be done about Ronald who appears to have been showing the house when Esme is not there. Bad things are going on at Esme's house, and then they find Ronalds body been in trunk of his car, and he has been shot. As Cooper investigates, she finds that Ronald was married, and then he was engaged with another woman as well as to Esme's granddaughter. It seems that Esme's husband had hired a couple who had been in jail to work for Esme. They seemed to be reformed, but soon it appears that they are not as honest as they claimed. The FBI are working with the local policeman Osborn to solve Ronald's death.

There is a scary exciting scene at Esme's house near the end of the book, but all is well at the end when Jon comes home and proposes to Cooper. I thank Netgalley and Beyond the Page for the ARC so that I could read the book before publication.

One of my all time favorite series. I love that the sleuthing team is a Sunday School class led by Cooper Lee. All of the characters are lovable except the villains of course. I’m never overwhelmed by the cast of characters. Several happy tears shed while I enjoyed this book. I plan to start to reread the series soon. I’m also excited about the next in the series. High faith content, but not overbearing. Sweet, light romance. Highly recommend.

I was blessed with an ARC. The opinions expressed are my own and unbiased.

"Dying to Sell (A Hope Street Church Mystery #9)" by Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe is a light Christian cozy mystery. I say light because the Christian aspects are mentioned in a character living their life in a practicing and engaged Christian way. Going to Bible study, discussing what they study in the Bible and making typical faith based comments. It is not over the top and not in your face. I would say it's just right. Especially since it's the Bible study group that does the investigating with Cooper. They get into some tight spots occasionally together.

Cooper's grandmother wants her and her Bible study group to help out another senior lady. Her grandmother's friend has a soon-to-be grandson-in-law that is taking liberties to sell her home out from under her. Cooper and friends investigate the man but he ends up not being the biggest problem for the woman. One thing leads to another and all investigations come to an end all at once. I do have to say that I was pretty strongly leaning towards the one particular suspect. However the other person involved and the crime they were hiding surprised me a smidge.

Fun cozy mystery! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you enjoy solving cozy mysteries, the Hope Street Church series is for you. I like these books because of the small town community charm and the admirable main characters who are good friends who solve local crimes.

In Dying to Sell, a real estate agent with questionable ethics has been murdered at the home of one of Grammy Lee’s friends. The Bible study group is anxious to solve this mystery to help the older ladies feel safe. There are so many possible suspects and motives, it’s hard to decide on the culprit. Though unsuccessful, I had fun trying to solve the crime.

In this story, the heartwarming granddaughter/grandmother relationship between main character Cooper Lee, owner of a vintage collectibles shop, and her grandmother, Grammy Lee, was developed more. The two showed their treasured appreciation for each other in funny and sweet ways.

Since I’m a romantic at heart, I especially loved the touching scene at the end of this story. During the series, Chef Jon Eason and Cooper have slowly realized their feelings for each other, so the last scene is a perfect conclusion to this intriguing book. If you like well-written cozy mysteries with threads of faith and touches of romance, you will enjoy Dying to Sell.

(As a bonus, we again get to savor treats from Magnolia’s Marvels. The deliciousness is served throughout the book, and there are some recipes in the back. Maple cinnamon scones and/or cranberry white chocolate cookies anyone?)

*I received a digital review copy from the publisher, Beyond the Page Publishing, through NetGalley with no requirement to write a positive review. This is my honest opinion.

In Dying to Sell by Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe, the warmth of friendship and the steady thread of faith come together in a story that’s equal parts charming and suspenseful.

I love how this series brings together real, relatable characters. The comforting backdrop of Scripture-filled conversations feels like coming home. These stories gently remind me how faith can weave through every puzzle, every prayer, and every gathering around the kitchen table. Cooper and her friends in the Bible study group have become like old friends to me, and it’s always bittersweet to close the final chapter and say goodbye for a little while.

This time, the real estate atmosphere gave the mystery an extra spark—rich with intrigue, hidden motives, and a hint of danger. It made the warm kitchen and faithful conversations feel even more like home. In the midst of suspects and secrets, the story never strays far from the heart of faith, where gratitude and trust in God guide every step.

This series has captured that warm, cozy feeling of Bible study friends and their community. Faith is present, gently woven throughout and it’s paired with a delightfully suspenseful edge that keeps me coming back. The characters, the humor, the gentle call to live out our faith … it all wraps together into a story that’s as satisfying as Grammy Lee’s recipes from Magnolia’s kitchen.

Dying to Sell left me with a smile, a grateful prayer, and a reminder that God’s light shines brightest when we gather together to unravel life’s mysteries—big and small.

This is not the first book in this series but I didn’t have any problem knowing the characters and what was going on. The book is centered around Cooper Lee and her friends in a Bible study group who have solved mysteries in the past. When it appears Grammy Lee’s friend may be coerced out of her home by a devious man who claims to be a real estate agent the group sets out to find out what is going on. When that man is found dead in the trunk of a car they have a murder to solve. Cooper and her friends eliminate a long list of suspects and ask lots of questions. When the true murderer is exposed Cooper and 2 friends are held hostage and fear for their lives. This was a well written book with excellent descriptions of locations in the book. If you like cozy mysteries you will probably like this book. I received a copy of this book free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Grammy Lee is worried about her friend Esme. She feels that Ronald is up to no good and will try and swindle her and is putting pressure on her to sell her house. She asks Cooper to get her bible study friends to investigate at Esme's birthday party.

Grammy Lee and her friends end up at the police station being investigated as a body was discovered on Esme's property. Cooper and her bible study friends investigate to try and clear Grammy and find out the truth.

I enjoyed the close knit friendships of the bible study group and how they come together to help. This has plenty of suspects as they sleuth out what is going on. This is one of those books that is a quick read and you enjoy because of the quirky characters and keep coming back to see what happens next to this group. I just love this series.

When the Sunrise Bible study investigate a situation hopefully before something happens. I really enjoyed the storyline and characters are vividly described as if they are standing next to you. Surely between the Bible study and police this case will be closed sooner rather than later.
