This book was a hard pass for me. I pushed my way through it as much as I could, but everything felt way too slow and confusing. There’s absolutely no reason for this book to be 500+ pages long when there’s barely any depth on the characters’ development and connections.

It also bothered me heavily that the mental health theme is written in such a deviant way. When I can understand fiction is made to warp our perception of things, we also know it can be used as a tool to influence and enlighten the world in an empathic and political way. In a world where so many people struggle to look for help for their emotional issues, warping it in an almost caricaturing way doesn’t sound very fun.

In my opinion, I feel like this book needs a lot of re-work, from research to characters, from theme to plot development. I wish the author the best of luck, I’m sure a better version of this book will be out there after some edits!
