DNF.
I would like to start this review by saying that the main reason why I didn't finish this book is, honestly, just me not being in the right mindset to fully dedicate my attention to i (exam season and mental health issues); despite that, I read about 30% so I would like to give my thoughts on what I've I've seen so far.
First and foremost, I can't exactly point out what is it about the writing that makes sort of... difficult? to follow. The first scene of the book was pretty sweet, and the subsequent fight scenes, while a bit confusing, were engaging nonetheless.. Everything else felt kind of...mechanical (I especially felt that during the dialogues). I still enjoyed it overall, but as I reached the 100 pages mark I found myself not really caring for the story unfortunately.
While the plot didn't really win me over... I can feel that there was some love and care put into it- and as far as debut novels, this one doesn't seem bad.
I would like to give credit where credit is due: the dramatis personae was a nice touch (and was really appreciated, especially after the tribes are introduced) and even though I didn't get to explore it fully, I liked the chemistry between the various characters.

Again, the main thing that did it for me with this book was that it requires a bit of dedication to read it: I'm sure there are readers out there who'd love to loose themselves into this one, for me this wasn't it unfortunately.
