Especially loved the debut section! Definitely added a couple to my tbr & am particularly excited for The Book of Guilt. Thanks!

I always look forward to the next instalment of Buzz Books! I find so many titles to add to my TBR from these publications. From there, I keep my eye out on NetGalley, at the library, and of course at the bookstore. I also love how these publications are organized to highlight debut authors and separate commercial fiction from literary fiction, for example.

I love these samplers!

I always manage to find at least a few books I'm interested in requesting after reading the excerpts!

Titles I'm requesting after reading their exerpts
Slashed Beauties
Girl Dinner
And the River Drags Her Down
The Sacred & the Divine (which has a read now widget!)

My only complaint is that they don't do more of these!

I think these Buzz Books samplers are awsome and this Fall/Winter 2025 edition is packed with incredible excerpts! From exciting debuts to standout YA and nonfiction, there is something for everyone. I’ve already added several titles to my TBR and can’t wait for full releases to start dropping. This is the perfect preview to help readers and reviewers get ahead of the next big hits. Highly recommended!

This is a comprehensive and useful resource for planning ARC requests for the next 6-12 months. Unfortunately many of the titles listed aren't discoverable in NetGalley yet.

I really appreciated the ability to check out excerpts of some of the books coming out later this year! I've added a few books to my TBR that I wasn't aware of before reading this sampler collection. I look forward to the next edition!

Buzz Books 2025: Fall/Winter. These semi-annual previews are available free for download from the Buzz Books website here (or Amazon here) and are invaluable for planning TBR lists, avoiding some books which the buzz has overhyped (or just don't fit with you personally), and one of my favorite uses, to stretch our boundaries. I am guilty, I admit it, of walking straight toward my favorite sections of any bookstore. I think the vast majority of us are guilty of the same... we have limited book budgets and time and want to stick with the tried-and-true authors who have traditionally delivered for us. When I find an enjoyable free way to maybe find a book which is a great fit for me without committing to a purchase first, it's a win-win. I have found a number of debut authors this way who have gone on to become fast favorites.

These collections are a great way to get a free 'taste' sample from authors who might well otherwise fly under your radar entirely.

Aside from the generous chapter excerpts included in the book, there's always a publishing preview with notable upcoming releases along with author and publisher info. I always find upcoming books from authors I love without having known they had an upcoming release. Valuable timesaver for that reason alone.

Five stars; a valuable resource.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher.

So excited for another collection of excerpts from upcoming new releases! A bit sobering that there are books coming out in 2026 in here--where is the year going?! But I love getting a taste of what's coming up, & the lists of impending releases are incredibly helpful. There are always excerpts from a few books that were already on my radar as possible TBRs, as well as a few I didn't know I was interested in until I learned more about them here. Whoever writes the copy does a great job building interest in the books.

This book is only available through your amazon Kindle account. It’s free. This is a great way to discover new authors whether it be a debut or seasoned author that’s new to you. I also appreciate that they’ve broken it down in categories, which makes it easy to find what you are looking for. I also liked the chapter of so they give you to read from the book. It’s a good sample that gives you a peek at the author’s writing style and a good look at the story.

Running a book club like I do and trying to find a pick that would fit your group, or you just want a few good books for your collection. I like the fact that this is available to readers.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I requested and received a copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I look forward to these compilations every season as they always help me learn about the new books coming out. I also like that I'm able to sample some of the books I'm interested in without having to request them. This makes it possible for me to get a sense for what I actually want to read and/or what my audience might be interested in.

Guilty by Definition by Susie Dent

Where the Wildflowers Grow by Terah Shelton Harris
If the Dead Belong Here by Carson Faust
The Book of Autumn by Molly O’Sullivan
The Last Extinction by Gerta Keller
The Sacred and the Divine by Kate Christensen and Melissa Henderson

I really appreciated being able to preview so many YA titles in advance of their publication. I especially liked the formatting—being able to see blurbs of the included titles and then using that to categorize the titles. I found so many good options for my middle school readers. I’m looking forward to seeing this collection again for future seasons!

*Buzz Books 2025: Fall/Winter* continues the tradition of Publishers Lunch’s popular sampler series, offering readers a curated preview of some of the most anticipated releases for the upcoming season. The collection spans a wide range of genres including literary fiction, debut fiction, nonfiction, and young adult making it a useful resource for readers, reviewers and industry professionals looking to discover new voices and keep up with established favorites.

- The sampler provides generous excerpts from a diverse array of books, including works by bestselling authors like Jane Hamilton, Ann Packer, and Olivie Blake, as well as exciting debuts such as Carson Faust’s *If the Dead Belong Here* and Marisa Kashino’s *Best Offer Wins*.
- The variety ensures there’s something for nearly every reading taste, from coming-of-age stories and thrillers to historical nonfiction and contemporary YA.
- The NetGalley edition is especially handy, as it often includes direct links to request the full galley of titles that catch your interest.
- For reviewers, librarians, and booksellers, this sampler is a time-saving way to identify buzzworthy books for the fall and winter seasons.
- As with all samplers, the excerpts can sometimes feel too brief to form a strong opinion about each book, and readers looking for a deep dive may be left wanting more.
- The sheer number of titles may be overwhelming, and it’s easy for some promising debuts to get lost among the bigger names.

Overall, *Buzz Books 2025: Fall/Winter* is a valuable tool for anyone invested in the literary landscape, providing a sneak peek at upcoming titles and helping readers decide what to add to their TBR lists. While it doesn’t offer the satisfaction of a complete book, its breadth and variety make it a must-browse for book lovers eager to stay ahead of the curve.
