Reign of Cinders and Glass is a retelling of Cinderella with spice and a vampire twist. Ella has been looking for her missing sister Belle in the woods when she is found by the Dark Prince Cassius. After Ella returns home she over hears her step mother and two others from the town talk about the resistance and sending in someone to spy on the immortales. Ella agrees to being the spy but never imagine that she would have magic powers of her own and they only get stronger the longer she is at the castle. Belle also has feeling for Prince Cassius, who is next in line to throne and a vampire. I would like to thank both NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for letting me listen to an advanced copy of this audiobook.

Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC.

This was a Cinderella retelling, except Prince Charming was a Dark Vampire Prince.

Set in a kingdom ruled by Vampires, humans are seen as cattles and are struggling to survive.

Ella's sister Belle goes missing, and she is determined to find her sister. She over hears that her Step-Mother and Belle were apart of the Human Rebellion and Belle has gone missing in the castle. She offers herself to go work in the Castle for the Vampire Nobles and Royalty and find Belle.

During the job tryouts - she has been rejected by the Head of the Castle, but she catches the eye of the Prince and the whole castle by stopping the Prince's notoriously aggressive war horse.

She continues to catch the eye of the Prince, and many cruel Vampire Ladies while working to the bone and trying to find her sister.

While to find Belle, she ucnovers a secret that could save , or curse the whole Kingdom.

This was a good fantasy book , the narrators were good and I am intrigued if there will be more to tell from this Kingdom.

4 STARS ⭐️

I listened to the audiobook ARC of this and I am completely obsessed! From the very first chapter, I was hooked, the narration brought everything to life in such a vivid way, I genuinely couldn’t stop listening. This is hands down the most thrilling and creative Cinderella retelling I’ve ever come across. Think Cinderella, but darker, with vampires, witches, magic, and a brooding prince? Yes, please.

Ella is such a standout heroine. She starts off as a simple farm girl but grows into a powerful, kind, and defiant force. I really appreciated that she wasn’t written as the stereotypical “bratty” independent FMC, she felt real, strong, and still had a softness to her that made her easy to root for. And Prince Cassius? Dark, dangerous, mysterious… and completely irresistible 🔥 Their chemistry is absolutely electric and that slow-burn tension? Utter perfection.

The story is packed with danger, dark magic, and just the right amount of fairytale nostalgia with a fresh, exciting twist. The pacing was solid, the writing kept me engaged, and the romance, especially with the audiobook performance, had me living for every glance and touch. It’s not trying to be a deep literary masterpiece, but honestly? It doesn’t need to be. It’s fun, it’s gripping, and it delivers everything I wanted from a fantasy romance.

If you love series like Fourth Wing, ACOTAR, or Nyaxia, you’ll love this too. I’m already counting down for more from the Fated Fairytales series, and fingers crossed we get Belle’s story next!

Hands down one of THE BEST Cinderella retellings I have ever read! So many fun twists and turns and gosh have I got a new book boyfriend now… sooooo swoony to watch him fall for her despite his best attempts. Our Ella is feisty and so so strong! Absolutely loved this!

This book was so good. It had the twist in the fairy tale and the funniest “fairy” godmother plus all the strained tension romance you could want. The characters were great and it felt like Belle might get her own book (please) and I can can’t wait to go back to this world again.
As far as narrators go I like the female narrator much more than the male narrator. His voice was fine when he was storytelling but felt out of place when he voiced characters and there wasn’t much difference in each of the characters voices he created. I am eating this 4 stars (5 for the story, 3 for the narrators).

I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed this as it isn’t my usual genre. It’s like a mixture of an adult version of Cinderella meets vampire diaries in an audiobook!

When Bella goes missing her sister goes in search for her. Cassius decides she has a touch of class to her servant being renames her Cinder-Ella she runs into trouble with said dark lord vampire Cassius however this doesn’t deter her. Bella being a mortal and part of the resistance fighting for her fellow humans decided she will infiltrate the castle of Cassius and before long the pull between two goes from enemies to allies to lovers.

This was quite a long audiobook in comparison to some I’ve been listening to of recent however it really didn’t feel that way at all. With the magic of the woods and of course Ella’s pet Pip and the humour that came with the Cinderella style fairy godmother it was all done really well for this style of book. The writing was truly fantastic and a first for me from this author and I actually think I may have to look at some more to welcome this little bit of my childhood self in the adult novels it’s really quite something else!

I’d never have put myself down as much of fantasy or sci-fi type but there has been a few recently that have definitely opened my eyes and have been enjoyable and this is definitely up there! This is the pleasure of trying various types of new types of books!

Narration was done fantastically well by both Daniel Henning and Jesse Vilinsky with a lot of attention paid to pitch and tones ensuring that the details were made obvious when changes of mood and emotion came across within the audio. At times I could even feel myself tensing with what was going to be said next etc so really well done!

Huge gratitude to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this ELC in return for an honest review 🙏🏽🎧📚🫶🏽

Dual narration- Daniel Henning & Jesse Vilinsky
Really great narration. Both of these narrators are new to me. I liked the voices.

This is a dark Cinderella retelling. Sexy and dark with vampires and mages. It was fun and enjoyable to experience an old classic story from a new and different perspective. The author did a great job with world building and writing this sexy and mysterious story.

Much thanks to Linsey Hall, Veronica Douglas, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to a free eaudio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is an interesting retelling of Cinderella. A good book, not a great one. Ella's likeable and sympathetic, though she seemed rather overpowered. She can converse with and control plants and animals? And explode magic heart things? Pretty convenient. Cassian doesn't have much personality beyond resentful grouch and being fixated on Ella. I didn't enjoy his character much, and the narrator for him, Daniel Henning, made it 100% worse. I very much disliked his narration. He chewed the scenery so hard and gave Cassian a high-pitched whiny voice that would be more suited to an ingratiating assistant or underling that we're not supposed to like. Or a villain in a children's novel. I just didn't like his voice or style. Jesse Vilinsky as Ella was better, though at times she was melodramatic, too. I love narrators who can deliver emotion and add depth to the script, but these two needed to dial it back a tad.

With Ella's sister being Belle, I'm guessing a Beauty and the Beast retelling is next. I'm also guessing Cassian's brother is the Beast. *googles* Kingdom of Roses and Flames, slated for next spring, which is a surprisingly long time away for a writer who seems to put out ten books a freakin' year. I'm not jealous, you're jealous.

I love a well-written fairytale retelling and Reign of Cinders & Glass absolutely did not disappoint. The storyline offers a fresh take which kept my interest and the momentum going. I loved the compelling characters, the innovative plot adaptations and how hard the MMC fell for the FMC.

The dual narration complemented the audiobook beautifully, making the characters emotions feel more real and immersive.

Oh my gosh this book is such a great Cinderella retelling. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. I feel the world is so interesting and intriguing. The slow burn that this book has is so good. I love the characters and their personalities. This book was so well written. Vampires, humans, and magic wielders all in one book and only the magic wielders know what's going on. I would love to see another book with these characters they are just so good.

This was a very interesting take on Cinderella, I listened to it within one day. There is a LOT going on but even though not everything is 100% fleshed out it didnt feel like anything was left abandonded either. I really enjoyed the worldbuilding and the twists of the story, loved the FMC and her development. Her magic is also really interesting and a bit different.
What I struggled most with was the romance. I just did not feel it. It was very insta-love, oh I cant stop thinking about this dark prince/common girl and then poof love. The MMC POV chapters felt like they were written by a different person and I dont know if this is just bad writing or "women writing men" bad writing. His character made little sense to me and seemed like the authors want us to convince he is bad but is not really?

I listened to the audiobook and the female narrator was amazing, really immersive and I never struggled with knowning you spoke. The male narrator was a bit odd. It almost sounded like someone trying to parody a romantasy book? Weird inflections and combined with the bad writing of those chapters I dreaded those chapters, luckily there arent that many in the book.

Thanks to netgalley and Dreamscape Media for providing me with a listening copy.

I have a confession to make, I’ve become a little bored of fantasy romance this year. Nothing was quite hitting, everything was predictable but this book, this book I absolutely loved!
Plot, tension, wit, style and fun Reign of Cinders honestly hit them all for me and to be completely honest I wasn’t expecting too much from a Cinderella interpretation but I loved this!
Female narrator was 10/10

Who doesn't love a fairytale retelling? Ella and Belle live with a distant stepmother, and when Bella goes missing, Ella is determined to find her sister no matter the cost, which may be her life and blood. Blood Haven is devoid of magic and ruled by evil vampires, and Ella has just gotten herself a job serving the prince of the vampires and secretly working with the resistance to overthrow him and his cruel vampire lords and ladies. This book has it all: adventure, romance, bloody fights, and an epic battle of good vs. evil. With tropes of enemies to lovers, I couldn't help loving the FMC and MMCs. I can't wait until book two comes out. Trust me if you like fantasy and romance, this is the book for you.

I love a good Cinderella retelling story! 4.5★
And I really didn’t think I’d get this hooked. This audiobook, paired with amazing narration, made the story even better. Before I knew it, I was fully obsessed with cursed forests, vampire royalty, and a heroine who does not play around.

The whole “searching for her sister” setup had me curious, but once Prince Cassius showed up, dark, broody, and lowkey terrifying, I was locked in. He’s that classic “don’t look at me, I bite” kind of guy, but of course, he’s hot and secretly protective. The tension?? So good.

There’s magic, secret powers, evil vampire stepsisters, a tipsy fairy godmother (loved her), and even a masquerade ball. It’s dramatic, fun, and the slow burn romance delivers. I loved how the main girl held her own, even when things got intense.

Did I expect to love this? No.
Did I finish it in one day and now want more fairytales? Yes. Yes, I did.
