Traveling with Jesus is a sweet and colorful story that helps kids learn about faith, friendship, and helping others. Through a fun mission trip, it teaches lessons about sharing, working together, praying, and trusting Jesus. This is a perfect book for young readers. I highly recommend it!!
A huge thanks to NetGalley, the author & the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

Thank you NetGalley! This book was adorable. I loved how it had real questions that children would ask about missions trips. It really taught trusting fully in God

A sweet story about Jesus. Lots of lesson within like, sharing, teamwork, praying, helping friends and sharing the love of God.
I received this galley from NetGalley.

I was given a copy of Traveling with Jesus by Carolyn Snelling in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley.
So I work in an office and can take breaks. A book like this intrigues me as it has to avoid being akin to propaganda. I would argue that the story wasn't the strongest and it was a unique touch to have animals instead of humans travel with Jesus. I almost felt it was a bit sacrilegious to have Jesus represented as he was but feel that Jesus is the personification of the Christian faith.
The text about the mission made me a) like the author and b) appreciate that missionaries are frequently seen as The Poisonwood Bible type Christians. I felt this book made me appreciate Missionaries more.
Thanks kindly for the coffee-break experience.

A beautiful tale, and I loved the real life backstory to it. Beautiful illustrations and important Biblical lessons I loved reading to my son.

This book is one of my sons favorites. He isn't one to re read books most the time and this one just captured his heart. It's a good reminder that no matter where you go Jesus is always with you. That's the type of message I want my son to know. I love the illustration and the characters I could relate to a few of them. Overall its a fun story and points us back to Jesus.

As a kids pastor, I am in love with this book!! I am always looking for fun ways to share the Word with my kids - preschool age to 5th grade. The concept of Missionary work is a tough one for kids to understand or have an interest in. This book is the answer to that problem! The fun storyline and the bright and captivating illustrations capture their attention and opens the door for conversation about serving others near and far! So thankful for this author and illustrator!

As a parent of 3 small children under 7, I love that this book shows an example of what mission trips look like with kid friendly dialog and fun, bold pictures. It helps them understand what their parents do while on mission trips and how important they are to Jesus.

The writers wanted to write a picture book related to their mission trip to El Salvador. I thought they’d failed here and it would have much more effective to simply detail the mission trip in story form using the actual photographs.
I thought Jesus looked like a statue in the illustrations and never really engaged in what was being portrayed.
The animal illustrations are cute and there is a message but I don’t think it will appeal to children nor lend itself as a read aloud.

This was so poorly written. The characters names could have at least have alliteration to support engagement and make the story flow.
I couldn’t tell what century I was in and the illustrations were all different qualities and styles. Nothing flowed.
