A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Honestly I dont even know what was the point of this book. There is not enough time to get into the characters or their relationship, I fell everything is mixed up together and hurried. I expected more, to be honest.

Thank you to FOWGID Publishing & NetGalley for this e-arc.

Desert Nights, City Lights is a lovely romance about a Hollywood celebrity and a music legend who, despite their differences, fall in love. The author carefully mixes moments of genuine connection with glitz, and the characters have great chemistry. The plot flowed naturally, and the characters were wonderful. I will most certainly read more of this author's works in the future.

wow Hollywood life or these industries really isnt a place anyone want to be is it lol.
Mia has a fun weekend of fun and friends planned out. Coachella is calling and thanks to her job she has all the access she needs to make it a good one. but whilst there Mia meets the walking red flag that is Trey. the famous tv actor. but she knows she needs to stay away from exactly guys like him. but when has attraction ever played by this sensible rule. and now they start to hit it off. and its reciprocated in all its emotional ways.
but the festival has to end right? and so will what they had because Mia knows his reputation. she knows all of his reputations. hes her biggest turn off.
and he has made it clear he will do, and doesnt want to change. hes easy breezy as he is.
so what now? because hearts also dont always play by what we wish to be right. but sometimes what the heart wants needs to be steadied y what the head knows. right?
this is a book where you will want to hug a few and shake a few. its hard read sometimes because of just how emotionally involved you feel amongst all this. but the payoff is worth it if only for a brilliant book. the story is compelling in all its messy glory. and you learn a hell of a lot from jesting in books like this. sometimes you need a few reminders from books like this. and i think thats what makes us so emotionally attached to them.

Such a promising story, unfortunately let down by unsympathetic characters lacking chemistry.
Better editing, fleshed out characters and more connection between the hero and heroine would have helped

The premise of this book with a talented songwriter and musician seemed interesting and I got through about 1/3 before DNF’ing.

The book starts wigs Mia watching her friends TV showing and crushing on the lead - rising TV star Trey. He will be at Coachella and their mutual friend is trying to set them up. They meet and sparks fly but Mia is concerned about trail of women in his life. He has two baby mamas and a lady he is casually seeing and he can’t help pursuing her. Her friend set her up knowing he was a walking red flag as her friend thought she’d be the one to tame him. Umm this is an eye roll from me.

There is a huge cast of character who attend Coachella, an awful lot of name dropping and not enough substance in the first third. Everyone is a little too good looking and a little bit too perfect and felt like a veneer. Not real enough.

It’s instalust with the main characters and I stopped reading when they are starting to hook up and Trey ignores her verbal “no” because “her body is telling him otherwise”.

Not for me. I’m sure there will be some character growth for Trey and redemption arc but I can’t get past ignoring consent.

Thank you NetGalley and FOWGID. Opinions are my own.

Desert Nights, City Lights is a quick read with a rollercoaster of emotion. This book will have you ready to start summer, but not a new relationship.

"A weekend of music, friends, and potential business deals stretched ahead." Mia and her friends are ready to make this Coachella weekend unforgetable, and thanks to her job in the music industry they landed VIP passes for the event. While at the festival Mia meets Trey, a famous TV actor. After several run-ins and with encouragement from her friends, they hit it off. Mia has captured Trey's attention, and she can't seem to stay away from him.
When the festival ends reality sets in. Trey is full of red flags, from his aversion to exclusivity, to his history of juggling multiple women at once, to his other habits that turn her off.
If Mia wants Trey in her life, she cannot let herself fall for him. He has made it clear he doesn't want the burden of a relationship and wants to continue his carefree lifestyle.
Will Mia be able to respect his boundaries and keep her heart out of the mix? Or did they just get caught up in the excitement of Coachella?

This book is perfect for anyone that is a fan of reading about messy and toxic relationships with far from perfect characters. Also, it is a great read for anyone who watch shows like Shameless to feel more normal about their life, or for someone who wants to feel extra thankful for their peaceful and healthy relationship.

Sidenote: It was funny how dramatic Mia was about Trey being a "weed smoker," like it personally offended her (not sure that was the intended effect though.)
It felt as if the author wanted to incorporate character growth, but the story is just too short for this to be done genuinely or feel realistic.
The drama was entertaining to watch play out. By the end of the book, you'll be glad you aren't famous or having to deal with the Hollywood industry.

"That man hasn't taken his eyes off of her all night. Or his hands."

"Maybe it's time to accept the good that's being presented to you- Stop fighting what could actually make you happy."

"Loving Trey was like trying to catch lightening in a bottle - thrilling, dangerous, and probably impossible."

Thanks to NetGalley and FOWGID Publish for this ARC.
