I'd always felt like the three books in the Adam Binder series sat as a trilogy, so I was really intrigued when a fourth book was announced.
We're skipping a few years here and we're seeing how Adam and his own have grown. Jodi, Bobby, Vic, Spider, everyone is here and a lot of what was talked about is there. Vic's a chef now, Adam's in therapy, and Tilla Mae is with Early. It's nice to see how everyone has grown and that nothing is magically okay, but there are still just people living their lives.
The story is solid, and sets up a lot of new intrigues, and brings back some characters that I absolutely loved. Adam is Adam, and you can see the effects of therapy on him. One of my only gripes in the first novels was that there wasn't enough time given to Adam and Vic together. Those quiet moments that make up a relationship. This book has a lot more of those moments, would I like them to be longer, always, are they sweet, yes, definitely.
I really loved this addition to the series, and I'm excited to see where the next books go, because this is definitely the start of another chapter in Adam's life. I've taken off half a star because of two things. The first is minor, the references to the pandemic, it would have been a lot more front of mind when it was written, but now it's gone through the long journey to publication it feels like it's unnecessary. The second is a little more of a problem, I think that Rogue Community College stands alone, but I think it's hard to read the Adam Binder series without having read that. Characters, places and plotlines are mentioned, and without knowing them I think you'd be a good amount of lost.
So, a great book, would definitely recommend, but don't skip reading Rogue Community College!
4.5* rounded down.

I didn’t realize there was going to be another book in this series, and I was very excited to see this one. Adam and Vic are back, and they are better than ever. The whole family is in a steady state until Annie comes back from the dead, and once again, their lives are thrown into chaos. So much happens to poor Adam, I don’t know how he can have any peace after this. However, I hope he doesn’t because that means more books for me. LOL! This latest is full of action, intrigue, twists and turns, and above all great writing. I really, really hope we get more books especially with how it ended. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
