I am reading this an entire decade after publication, but the principles still hold true. The author explores human behavior, specifically in the context of work and what motivates us to do our best. Are people driven by purely financial incentives (or punishment, i.e., fines). Or is there more, such as connecting with a mission, helping others. The author recognizes that each person brings a different perspective and desires different things. I had several reminders and takeaways as a people and team leader. It would be interesting to revisit this subject now - having lived through pandemic remote work and now, with several organizations, returning from work from home to in-office work. Thank you to the author and #NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.
