I enjoyed this book very much. It had everything I like to read in this book. I loved the character's backstories and how the character's romance developed in spicy scenes. It had me wanting more with each page. It also has tough subjects in it, which gives a more in-depth character perspective. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family!

When a friend mentioned there was tons of pining and yearning in this story… I said sign me up! There definitely was tension and yearning between two sweet characters. I also think this is perfect for the upcoming Fall season. It has those cozy small town feels with a unique magic system. This felt reminiscent of some of my favorite early 2000s witchy shows and I felt somewhat nostalgic at times reading it. I think if you are someone who loooooves romance over plot you will definitely love this. I do feel the one thing the story was lacking is the plot. It was pretty lackluster but I think the romances makes up for it!

Thank you to Atria Books for providing me with a gifted ebook copy of Hopelessly Teavoted through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Hopelessly Teavoted definitely makes for a cute, Fall or spooky season read. It's a fun paranormal romance, with a lot of pining and some spicy moments between Azrael and Vickie. I enjoyed the family dynamics, with Vickie's strained relationship with her parents, but finding chosen family with Azrael, his sister, and their parents. Azrael's parents bring a fun Gomez and Morticia Addams feel to the book, and I loved the antagonistic sibling relationship between Azrael and his sister, Priscilla.

There is definitely a lot happening in the story, but I felt like some of the pining between Azrael and Vickie became too repetitive and took away from other moments that could have brought more depth to the mystery of the souls being stolen. I felt like there were too many things that had been added to the story, and that it would have benefited from editing some of those things out and polishing it up just a bit. And I would liked to have seen more of a focus around the tea shop.
If you're looking for a cozy, witchy romance to add to your Fall or spooky season TBR, Hopelessly Teavoted would make a great addition.

You guys...I really wanted to love this book. I've been looking at a cozy, witchy romance books to read. Unfortunately, I fear that this one is just not for me. I found the pacing to be incredibly slow. I'm all for a slow burn but this just felt extremely slow in both the progression of the plot and the romance. I was very excited when I learned that it's also a bit of a mystery but I was 60+% in and we were nowhere close to getting more information. To be honest, I think the author spent too much time with the MMC's difficulty with moving forward with his grief. I ended up skimming through a lot of the end of the book. However if you're into super slow burn, cozy, witchy romance, this might be the book for you.
I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

4 ⭐️ - this debut romance is going to be PERFECT for the Fall/Halloween vibes! If you are a fan of the Addams Family, Practical Magic, Gilmore Girls-esque characters, current pop culture references, and representation, this book is for you. I love all of the above mentioned and truly adored this book. It follows Azrael and Vickie - childhood best friends who missed their chance years earlier - as they navigate their lives after losing loved ones and embarking on their own adult journeys. It has all the pining, all the yearning and all the slow burning! There’s representation for LGBTQIA+ and mental health (anxiety, depression, grief) and I love a good representation book! There’s also some spicy magic scenes 😉 and there is also a mystery to be solved! I was a little confused when it came to the council talk and pacing, but it didn’t take away from the romance of the story. I still really enjoyed this book and hope there will be more in this universe because I became invested in the side characters! BRB while I preorder the physical copy.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me an Advanced Reader Copy of this book!
I really enjoyed this read! I feel like it was just the right amount of magic, whimsy and romance. I love a good amount of yearning and I devoured this book in just a couple days. A really great read when you don't want something TOO heavy.

I loved this story. If you’re like me and you’ve been leaning hard into supernatural, steamy romances lately, Hopelessly Teavoted will absolutely hit the spot.
Azrael Ashmedai Hart (yes, twice named after the devil) is cursed in more ways than one—failed screenwriter, allergic to his own rescue cat, and now stuck back in his haunted hometown of Hallowcross. Things really get complicated when he runs into Vickie, the sunshiney girl-next-door he’s never quite gotten over.
Vickie, meanwhile, is juggling her own chaos: disowned by her rich, uptight family for buying Az’s family’s old tea shop, now haunted and full of ghosts—including Az’s dead parents—and oh yeah, she’s in soul-debt to a literal devil. Her gift lets her summon the dead by destroying objects they loved, which is cool and creepy... until it starts backfiring hard.
But the best part? The magical curse that keeps Az and Vickie from physically touching. It should kill the romance—but instead, it makes it even hotter. Their chemistry sizzles, and the ways they find to connect (without triggering the curse) are ridiculously clever and emotionally satisfying. The buildup is riveting, and the tension? Chef’s kiss.
This isn’t just smut for smut’s sake either (though there’s plenty to swoon over). The story has heart, humor, a rich magical world, and two characters who feel real in the best, messiest ways. Az is grumpy and wounded, Vickie is chaotic and brave, and together they make magic—literally and romantically.

Thank you to Atria and NetGalley for the ARC!
While charming, I struggled to connect with Az and Victoria. The writing style was enjoyable, and I loved the adorable cover design, but ultimately the execution fell short of my expectations. Witchy romances are very hit or miss for me, and despite my desperation to love this one, I just didn't.

I looooved this story! Magic and magical realism are my jam and this was done so well. It was a little spooky, a little cute, and a lot romantic. Very fun! I need a physical copy so I can reread this in October!

I had such a good time with this title!
It's cute, cozy, whimsical and spooky with really excellent world building.

Such a cute and magical read! ✨
This book had the perfect blend of magical realism and romance that completely swept me away. I adored all the characters—each one brought something special to the story, and I genuinely struggled to put it down. At its heart, it’s a story about second chances, forgiveness, healing from past wounds, and rediscovering your purpose. It left me feeling hopeful and a little enchanted. Definitely grabbing a physical copy for my shelf!

Absolutely adored this book! The absolute yearning from the male lead made the romance so much sweater, and the story was exactly the kind of cozy, spooky read I love for the fall season. Audrey's writing is beautiful, and it had me hooked form the start.

Thank you for this ARC.
I could not get into this book. It started off great with the Adams family vibes and the town sounds great but I ended up DNF at 30%. I found some parts of the plot messy and I couldn't connect with the characters.

Unfortunately this book just wasn't for me. I found it to be repetitive and the plot confusing. The "mystery" seemed like an afterthought surrounded by a ridiculous amount of pining. By the end I really didn't care if they got together or not. The overall concept was cute but it just needed a lot of editing.

📚✨ Book Review ✨📚
Hopelessly Teavoted – A Bewitching Brew of Romance, Ghosts, & Devilish Deals 💀💞🫖
This enchanting rom-com is like sipping a haunted cup of tea under a full moon 🌕💫. After losing his parents, Azrael Ashmedai Hart (yes, that name 😈) returns to his gothic family manor in Hallowcross, with a snarky cat he’s literally allergic to 🐈⬛😷. His reunion with bubbly, ghost-summoning tea witch Victoria Starnberger is as awkward as it is electric ⚡️💘.
Vickie—freshly disowned, debt-bound to a lesser devil, and haunted by spirits (including Az’s parents!)—has bought Az’s late parents’ tea shop and stirred up a whole cauldron of supernatural trouble 🍵👻💸. Together, these two must banish a growing evil while battling a devil’s curse that keeps them from touching (yep, the tension is off the charts 🔥💔).
The banter is witty, the setting is gloriously spooky, and the romance? Absolutely spellbinding 🧙♂️🧙♀️❤️. Think: The Ex Hex meets a haunted Hallmark movie written by Neil Gaiman.
✨ Vibes:
🌒 Witchy shenanigans
💀 Ghostly parents
☕ Tea shop full of cursed antiques
🔥 Slow-burn, hands-off romance
👿 Lesser demons, major drama
💘 Childhood crush turned soulmate
If you love lyrical prose, magical realism with a sharp twist, and lovers cursed to almost touch, Hopelessly Teavoted will charm the cobwebs off your heart 💓🕸️.

Hopelessly Teavoted is a charming cozy romance with a delightful witchy twist. Set in the enchanting town of Hollowcross, the story follows childhood best friends Azrael and Victoria, who couldn't make the leap into something more. After years apart, both find themselves back in town, navigating old feelings and new challenges.
Goldberg Ruoff’s use of magical realism adds depth to the world-building, creating a richly atmospheric setting. While the slow start and prolonged pining made it difficult to fully connect with the romance early on, the second-chance dynamic and family drama were great. The novel truly shines in its finale, where Azrael and Victoria must work together to break a curse involving the devil. This is an engaging and entertaining twist that I wished had been more central to the plot.
Overall, Hopelessly Teavoted is a lovely seasonal read, offering likable characters, an immersive atmosphere, and a cozy, magical romance for those who enjoy a touch of whimsy.
Thank you NetGalley and Atria books for the advanced reader copy. This is my honest review.

4.25 stars ⭐️ The perfect fall read!! It’s cozy, spooky and unputdownable!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC. All opinions are my own 🫶🏼

2.5/5 for me. This one was rough. I felt like I was reading this forever. It was really slow to start and at times there were some confusing bits. There was way too much pinning. To the point where I didn’t really care about the characters even getting together. So much back and forth I got whiplash. The plot of the book felt super rushed at the end and just put off to the side for most of the book to focus on you guessed it more pinning. 🫠 I wish the author had focused less on pinning and more on the two solving the mystery together. Also, what happened with Prissy and Evelyn? I would have liked to see more fleshed out plot and less pinning for each other.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC
TW: loss of parents
This was like reading a book made of a mix of Pushing Daisies, Practical Magic and Charmed, and I love all three of those. At times it felt like there was a bit too much going on, and the mystery aspect seemed to get lost a little in the romance/curse plot. That being said, it’s a solid debut, the characters were well written and relatable. The way grief was shown over the loss of the MMC’s parents, and not being able to say goodbye in person, but finding a way for closure, and also knowing you were loved and still are was so beautifully done. And the yearning, so much yearning. The tension between the MMC and FMC going from friends to lovers was so well done. This ended up being more than just a fun, cute read, it had some heart behind it. And how can you not love an MMC English teacher who names his cat Emily Lickinson?
