**My thanks to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing LLC for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the second book in this duet and focuses on the Melenie's sister who just escaped before a wedding to a man she does not want to marry and controlling parents.

This book starts a year after the first one finished and Meredith has been at Tall Pines helping her sister with her business and she has finally decided to something different and tries to seduce Gage a man with a past that he keeps secret.

Gage however has recently been looking into property else where so he can't buy his own ranch, but Meredith wants a one night stand, but he knows that she is not that type of girl. She's the kind of girl that is forever.

I loved the interactions between this pair, but felt that it could have had a little more spice in the mix. I did love how Gage stood up for his girl and very soon knew that something was wrong when her ex came back into the picture, I also loved how his other family welcomed him and made him feel wanted and loved, unlike his mother.

This was certainly a lovely read.

Victoria James’ latest installment, Rescued by the Rancher, in the Tall Pines Ranch series, has more heart and warmth contained within it then I’ve read in a long time. In the characters of Gage and Meredith I found myself drawn to immediately, in Gage’s well concealed vulnerability, and in Meredith, her spunk and zest for the new woman she’d become.

The story conveys a gamut of emotions, heartache, joy, rage, sorrow, hate, disgust, and so much more...at times, all within just a few paragraphs. I enjoyed the fast pace of the story, the underlying secrets, and the vivid personalities of all the characters. I hope the series continues, perhaps with the stories of Gage’s new found family.

Rescued by the Rancher by Victoria James is Book 2 of the Tall Pines Ranch Series. While this book is part of a series, it can be read easily as a standalone.

Low drama, this sexy read had a lovely bit of chemistry between Meredith and Gage, and really sucked you into their story and had you engaged and wanting to see what happened between them as they hashed out their personal issues.

Please note that an ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

A Great Read - Sexy but Not Graphic

A thoroughly enjoyable rising-above-your-upbringing type romance. Meredith is funny and sweet as she works on coming into her own in becoming a strong person, independent of her family, forgiving herself for past mistakes. Gage is a loyal and strong sexy alpha type who finally finds that special someone he can trust to share his past with. The secondary characters are well-developed, and I liked that the conflicts were resolved (a pet peeve of mine are unresolved conflicts).

The only thing I didn’t care for was how Ron’s part was handled. Seems like a piece of the story was missing between Ron's threat and then immediately finding out that he lied and had already carried out his threat.

General Observations:
• Sexy without the graphic details.
• 7 F bombs, but otherwise minimal cussing.
• Lots of chemistry between the H and h could be felt throughout.

This book was a very quick read, but remember good things come in small packages. I really enjoyed this story. There is "sex" or at least the innuendo's through out the book. However the story line is well written and so fun. I really liked Meredith and her wiling to fight strong attitude. I like that the author took 2 imperfect people and didn't try and make them perfect but made them feel very much like the average person on the street. I really overall enjoyed this fun read, grab it you won't regret it.

I have been into all the cowboy romances lately so I jumped at the chance to review this backlist title from Entangled Publishing. Rescued by the Rancher was a sweet story with more romance and a slow build. I would categorize it as a behind doors romance. If you are looking for a light, quick read and like cowboys check this one out!!!

This was an amazing story right down to the first chapter and all the way through the book. The characters were smoothly written, the story so engaging, the town was where I want to live and the love story and romance was one for a lifetime. It's definitely a book I'll be rereading when I have time.

I truly enjoyed Rescued By the Rancher (Tall Pines Ranch Book 2) by Victoria James

Meredith left her past behind to start new. Gage loving being at the Ranch but was looking something he could call his own. Both Meredith and Gage had their shield on their heart. It took them together to see they truly need and loved each other.

I love how it was story of the character find their own strength and the strength in each other.

I a great story to read!

Holy nuts I loved this book! Gage and Meredith are smokin' together, the chemistry between the two pulls you into the story from page one. Gage works for and with his best friend Cole on the family ranch. Cole now married to Melanie who is Meredith's sister. Meredith arrived a year ago, fleeing a jerk of an ex fiancé and her wealthy, over controlling family. Melanie fled years before leaving Meredith there. The backstory unfolds nicely in this book. Meredith helps Mel with her wedding and event planning business and is really learning to be who she is and what she wants in life. She's grown so much over the last year and Gage has just been waiting. Gage has been wanting to buy a place of his own, and now with Cole married he feels like he needs to move on. His backstory is filled in nicely as well. Both of these two have their issues but there is no denying not only the spark between them, but how they bring out the best in each other! What a fantastic thing to watch as you read the book! They're so well developed, completely relatable and absolutely lovable.
Meredith has been getting threatening texts from her ex and has been hiding them from everyone. And what happens when the past collides with her future? Oh man the drama almost killed me.
I was totally invested in these two and determined things were going to work out, because they were right? Supposed to be together right?
It's a must read. I am never disappointed when I pick up a book from Victoria.

Gage has been attracted to Meredith since she landed in his arms a year ago, but never did anything about it. All of it changes the night Meredith proposed a one night stand to Gage. But they soon realize that one night is not enough. Meredith and Gage, both have issues from their past, and together they learn to let go of the past and live in the future.
This was a good read and Gage was a wonderful hero, supportive, strong and sexy. It was an emotional read that makes you feel and touches your heartstrings. I loved the connection between the main characters and look forward to reading more from the author.

This was the second book in this series and can be read as a stand alone. First off I am going to say that i have yet to read a book by Victoria James that I have not liked. This book was no different. This was such a sweet and romantic read. Meredith and Gage are both broken in some way and both trying to heal themselves. I thought they were perfect for each other. Meredith was trying to become a stronger person. Gage was very protective of her from the beginning. These two just clicked. The story line just flowing from one chapter to the next and before I new it I had finished the book. This book is full of everything I look for in a book. Great story line, romantic, emotional and so much more. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sexy but not over the top (fade to black bedroom scenes but hot nonetheless), Meredith and Gage both think they don’t deserve the other. And that was my only drawback with the story. They both had definite self esteem issues, but in different ways. Meredith has done a lot of growing since age showed up at Tall Pines a year ago, and she’s ready to move on...right onto Gage. Gage has been watching Meredith over that year, and he likes what he sees, but isn’t making a move.
Once these two finally come together, it’s fast paced, but doesn’t feel rushed at all. They both find out some surprising things about themselves, too. Great pacing, interesting back stories for them both...I very much enjoyed their romance!

Rescued by The Rancher is a book based on opposites attract. And boy do Gage and Meredith have some explosive chemistry! I really enjoyed this book.

The story of Meredith and Gage.

She is in town after fleeing her past. Gage wants to look out for her while he is in town, but has a plan to leave and start his won ranch.

A great read that keeps you interested throughout.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and Entangled Publishing and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was a wonderful story. I totally fell for Gage and Meredith. They both had difficult childhoods. Meredith had secrets that held her in a tight grip. She wanted to become a stronger woman and the first step in her eyes was to have a one-night stand. Who better to have this with but Gage the foreman of Tall Pines Ranch. Gage had an alcoholic mother and an abusive step-father. He left home before finishing school. Mr. Forrester the owner of Tall Pines comes to his rescue and becomes like a father to the young man. Over the years, Mr. Forrester dies and his son Cole takes over. Cole and Gage are like brothers. As much as Gage loves the ranch and Cole, he wants to have a ranch of his own. The land in Texas is so much cheaper so within a year, he will be gone. Gage, knowing his time is limited, wants to protect Meredith. When she suggests a one-night stand Gage is all in. The road to their HEA is full of discord and difficulties.

I loved having the dual POV format. Not having endured the tragedies that these two characters have had, it really helped me to identify with the characters so much better.

The author did a beautiful job in writing this story. The plot never stopped moving, it was always moving forward. I sometimes tend to read the back of the story to see how the author pulls off the plot and brings it all together if the story drags but that wasn't the case here. The only sad part was the story ended. I feel at a loss BUT if did purchase the first story in this series as I haven't read it so I am going to read that next.

I highly recommend this story to anyone.

Another winner by this author! I loved the characters, from the brooding loner Gage, to the troubled Meredith who is intent on escaping her past. Their story was engaging and the author made me feel invested in them and wanting them to get a HEA ending.

If you enjoy contemporary romance you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list, and, if you enjoy the genre, should probably be on your must read list as well.
