In Go One More, Nick Bare explored how to move forward and to turn your aspirations into reality. He begins the book by stating how he asked himself the important question, “why keep going.” He was training for his first marathon in 2018 and it was for a total of 18 miles. He was dealing with the voices in his head telling him that he isn’t a runner anymore. He used to run in the military but no longer was. His body was screaming for him to quit and that his body was tired. He shared how some of our life’s greatest reward is on the other side of going through resistance. He chose to instead run one more. Then simple saying turned into a saying, “go one more.” He got a tattoo posted about his journey on social media and then other people even got tattoos and hats with the sayings on it. It became a mantra and we must choose to not quit and to keep going one more. He also has a YouTube channel that he started in 2014 and has over 1 million subscribers and counting. He has since gone one to run two ultramarathons and a Last Man Standing and he keeps going. He started a business called, Bare Performance Nutrition. His first year he told his dad he was going to make one million. He ended up making around $20,000. It took him 5 years to reach his goal. In the book, he explored different principles and how to transform your mindset to keep going forward.

In the book, he discussed the topic that people will call you crazy. He used the example of country superstar, Hardy. He began as a songwriter for years before he was able to release his own album in 2023. This album grew in sales and helped to make a name for himself. When he won an award at the ACM awards for songwriter of the year, in his acceptance speech he shared how he played a show 7 years earlier, he received in a tip jar the word quit on a napkin. Someone in that show didn’t like his performance and encouraged him to just quit. Obviously, if he would have done that Hardy music wouldn’t have ever happened. Hixtape, which he does with all sorts of artists and collaborations wouldn’t have happened. The Joe Diffie tribute album probably wouldn’t have ever been seen the light of day. His Hixtape ideas in general is brilliant. He then went on to release a rock album, The Mockingbird & the Crow and he went against what the label wanted and pursue a new way of music. Nick instructed people to allow people to call you crazy and to doubt you. Let the root against you. Just keep chasing your own goals and journey.

I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is ready to go after their dreams and to make the correct choices that matter. I have enjoyed following him on social media and his posts are inspirations. He does a wide range of videos and posts. I really enjoyed the mantra of going one more and the story behind this is truly inspiring. The principles and topics are extremely helpful and beneficial. One of my favorites was if it matters to you, you will make time. This section is so true and can help you to focus on your health and not making excuses. The only thing the book didn’t discuss was the setback and challenge of how he recently got hit by a car while running but this book was probably written before that event happen. He is okay from the accident which I’m sure he will discuss in detail in another book. Readers will be inspired to change after reading this book!
