This is exactly how I imagine dark romance FMCs would react once their morally black MMCs die: they suddenly realize they were taken advantage of their entire lives—and become absolutely petrified, terrified that he might come back from the dead to haunt them. As always, Natasha’s books are incredibly fast-paced and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It really frayed my nerves! And the last chapter! OH MY GOD! it actually threw me off edge

This was a fabulous fast paced read. I am quite new to this author and am pleased I have discovered their books as each one is even better than the last.

This was a suspenseful thriller with supernatural undertones as well as covering the themes of grief and cohesive control

I read this in almost one sitting as I was hooked from the first page.

Maggie is starting to live her life again after the death of her controlling husband Frank. She goes to a psychic fair and the woman has a message for her, when she comes home she realises that the message was correct. Soon she starts smelling Frank's aftershave in the house, strange things start happening. Frank is supposed to be dead, is she being haunted by his ghost?
A good read but I guessed what was happening early on.

Maggie has lost her controlling, abusive husband. She is finding it hard to mix with people until she sees an advert for a psychic dinner. She decides to attend, and makes three new friends.
The psychic has told her something, and Maggie rushes home to see if the psychic is correct.
Creepy, as things start happening that make Maggie convinced her husband Frank is haunting her.

This is a very suspenseful novel. I could hardly put it down. Not being a fan of the supernatural, I am so pleased that I had someone in the house with me when I read it late into the night.
There are shocks, twists, and truly, the ending is unpredictable.
And it is somewhat creepy, I had shivers down my spine.

A great read, although I found the beginning a little slow, but it soon became clear that I wouldn't put the book down until I had finished it.

4/5 stars from me.

Maggie was in an abusive marriage, her husband, Frank was very controlling. Maggie was not allowed to leave the house, or work, or have any friends or social life. Frank had a heart attack and died, and Maggie is now free to live as she wishes. It takes her some time to pluck up courage and leave the house, but she knows eventually she will need to find work. She ventures out into the village, and meets new people, makes friends and finds work at the local pub. She meets a man called Gary, and they become firm friends, but strange things begin to happen at Maggies cottage, things are moved out of place, she smells Franks aftershave, and Maggie starts to wonder if Frank is haunting her, even though she does not believe in ghosts. This affects her life, she is afraid, cannot sleep, and stops seeing her friends. Maggie returns to being the downtrodden, fearful person that Frank wanted her to be, even though he is no longer around.
I enjoyed this book, I have read other books by the author and loved them all. This one did not disappoint. The plot kept me interested and turning the pages, and the ending was not what I expected. 5 stars.

Great book from this author, it certainly didn’t take me long to read it . It had just the right amount of tension and great characters. I was intrigued all the way through it to see what was behind the haunting and I certainly didn’t expect that ending. Definitely recommend this book , 5 stars from me

Having read the missing husband I thought I knew what to expect so couldn’t wait to dive straight into the widows husband but when I say this book took my breath away it’s no exaggeration!! Maggie finally thinks she is free of Frank but is she?? I guess time will tell but for me I had to read in one sitting to get the answers and nothing was at all predictable in this outstanding book.
Just an awesome read from start to finish.

Loved this thriller and couldn't get through it fast enough! Maggie goes to a psychic but isn't sure she believes in the supernatural or ghosts speaking through a medium. Her husband died of a heart attack and she's been grieving but also feels his presence and wonders if he's haunting her. Knowing she needs a job, she goes to the local pub; she begins working and meets Gary. But odd things continue to happen and she can't sleep, is afraid to go anywhere, and even shuns the few friends she has. It's a fast read and kept my attention until the end!

Maggie is an aging woman whose husband just died. He was physically and emotionally abusive so it takes her time to trust again. After finally putting herself out there, she meets some new friends and a new lover. Everything is as it should be. She’s free from her abusive husband. Or is she? She swears his ghost is haunting and her new friends help her figure out what’s going on…

It took me a minute to get into this but once I did, I couldn’t put it down. One twist at the very end is what I kind of expected but I definitely did not foresee the big twist. The characters were well written and each made me suspicious in different ways, except one. I was also worried something happened to Benji, her rescue.

Maggie has recently lost her abusive husband of 30 years. She finally takes the plunge and decides to leave the house and make some friends. With friends like these, who needs enemies?

I found the storyline to be drawn out and repetitive. Maggie's personality frustrated me. How can one person be so gullible and trusting of people that are virtually strangers?? Even though the author attempted to point the finger at several characters, it was fairly easy to figure out the twist.

Not the best book I've read and also not the worst. If you're looking for a quick, easy read that doesn't hurt your brain, then this book is it.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion/review.

Maggie has started venturing out of her house at last. Years of being held as a virtual prisoner by her controlling husband, Frank, she’s now free. She’s just taking little walks in the village, braving smiling at strangers, feeling delighted when they smile back. Then, on one of her walks, she finds herself drawn to a poster in the window of the local pub, advertising an evening with a psychic. Maggie doesn’t believe in the supernatural, but decides it is the perfect place to finally meet some friends! Great read! I wasn’t sure which way this book was gonna go?! Paranormal or not?! It ended up being perfect! It had great suspense, murder, mystery, gaslighting, dark secrets, intrigue and some crazy twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Maggie was held as a virtual prisoner by her controlling husband, Frank, and she’s now free. Maggie doesn’t believe in the supernatural but decides to visit a psychic - it is the perfect place to finally meet some friends. The psychic tells her Frank is back. Is he or is Maggie crazy?
This was a fast read – I thought I had the plot figured out, but nope! It combined enough mystery and suspense to keep me interested the whole time, and I really enjoyed it.

Had me gripped from the prologue - it sets a scene and draws you in.

She meets new friends, gets a dog and starts living her life again, slowly, when strange things start happening at the cottage she shared with her husband, leading her to believe that he has literally come back to haunt her.

The strange happenings and eerie events lead her to question her friendships, sanity and everything she knows to get to the truth of what is going on.
